What are the best 3rd party controllers for the Switch

FlyinJ

Douchebag. Yes, me.
Been Googling around, but can't find any reputable reviews of 3rd party Switch controllers.

I was going to buy the official Pro controller, but I hear the d-pad is awful.

So, how are the various 3rd party controllers? Especially, which ones have the best d-pads?

The recently announced $30 Hori pro controller looks like it's worth trying.

EDIT: Link above, but note it's wired only.

This is the Hori pad people are recommending, right?

What is going on in this picture... it has a rear dpad?

The 8BitDo controller is still the one that I'm waiting for, as well.

OP, if you already own some Wii U Pro Controllers - or even have some PS4 controllers lying around - might I suggest the MayFlash adapter?

If you've ever used MayFlash before, it's a fantastic little dongle that lets you pair quite a number of controllers to your Switch, PC, or even PS4. I've been using it and I love it. It's this one here.
