Using Sixaxis on your PC? Stay away from MotionInJoy

not sure if the ps3 controller works with joytokey, but that's what I use for my Xbox controller, and it's pretty good (nothing is installed)

I would love if Sony could provide official drives for the DS4 when it comes out. Wishful think, but would be nice. And of course for DS3 too.

The JoytoKey software allows to customize PS3 controller, but does not provide drivers to get it function on Windows. You have to use MotionInJoy driver and then JoytoKey.

Installed some ancient MotioninJoy drivers on my computer years ago and it worked flawlessly. Installed the new ones on a friend's and the sticks refuse to work :/

Just gonna stick with 360 controllers in the future. Crappy Dpad though.

Any good alternatives that work well with built-in bluetooth adapters? MIJ won't recognize the BT adapter in my not very old acer laptop. Playing with a stiff USB-cable isn't really an option.

Other than that, MIJ seems to work just fine. No pop-ups or anything.

have you tried the wrapper on the pcsx2 forums linked above? it worked on my built in bt, but of course you can no longer use that bt adapter for anything else until you uninstall it.

I was using motionjoy for a long time, I switched to BetterDS3.exe

and now my 2 dualshock are registered at boot with no problems, like on the ps2, they switch off and reswitch on wirelessly by pressing the ps function and I have nothing more to do, not even checking the program (I had to relaunch the motionjoy manually before each time)

I switched a long time ago to this

http://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-XInput-Wrapper-for-DS3-and-Play-com-USB-Dual-DS2-Controller

It's a beautiful little program, nothing shady about it. After setting everything up you just press the PS button and play

Just installed this, thanks for the tip. DS3 works so nicely for MK9 on the PC. Only issue is I noticed square didn't seem to register all the time, like 2% failure rate maybe. It could be my DS3 though, its one that I don't hardly ever use and I think may have had some spilled on it by a friend...

So I tried some more tests, and it seems to not register keys or will get stuck on a key if I try to press the buttons too fast. Like If I rapidly press different directional buttons after about 10 inputs it will stick in one direction and then clear up. I was using the gamepad properties so I could just look at the button input signals.

Has anyone else had this issue? Wondering if perhaps its my bluetooth adapter.

Can someone recommend me a BT Dongle that works with the DS3 and is plug-and-play on Win 7 64-bit?
I do not want to install drivers from a CD, or any proprietary software like BlueSoleil. It seems to me like most BT dongles comes with a friggin CD that i do not want.... but i could be in the wrong here. In 2013 this should not be required.

Is using a USB cable out of the question?

Personally mine does not boot at launch so I only use it when I need it. When I boot the software my browser opens for a split second with an asian web page. I close it and i'm done with it for the sessions.

The only problem I have with it is the fact sometimes if the wire gets sligthly unplugged I get a bsod reboot.

Yes, i need wireless. I want to connect up to 4 Dualshocks and use them from my livingroom couch. I have used USB cable up until now. I also could not get the DS3 to work with my old BT Dongle which used BlueSoleil. I'm not going through that again...

I haven't had any ad issues, but it did screw up my bluetooth. When I got my first wireless mouse for my laptop, I initially couldn't figure out why it couldn't work... googled it and came to the conclusion motioninjoy overrode my bluetooth drivers. I did find a way to fix it for only one of my USB ports... can't remember exactly how and still can't get my others to work with my mouse's bluetooth adapter, but I still use motioninjoy. Maybe I'll just buy a 360 controller and get the headache over with permanently.

Weirdly enough it screwed up my AMD drivers. Couldn't play a game for 10 minutes without crashing. Not touching that shit again.

I'm very pick about what I allow being installed on my PC and some ad-ridden software that install unsigned drivers and other low-level software with a high level of system access rights that is confirmed to call back home in China is a big no-no for me.

I have

http://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B0012RDB9M/

There are drivers (available on the web), I am not sure it works with or without, but it works perfect currently.

However, for whatever reason, it's only compatible with USB ports of certain PCBs.

The same happened to me when I switched motherboards. My TE worked on my old motherboard but it doesn't register any inputs on my current one. After some digging around it seemed like the TE uses some older/different USB protocol which my motherboard's USB controller doesn't support. I ended up buying some VIA PCI card and now everything works.

I have tried MotionJoy online/offline/lite, xmapper, and x360ce, none of them had any success in gettimg my Dual Shock 3 sticks to function, then I used this

Worked flawlessly with almost no config, I was actually taken back at how easy and solid these drivers are considering the clusterfuck I went through with all the previous installs.

Bumping this thread because my problem is driving me nuts.

I basically bricked motioninjoy on my laptop. I guess having a G9x, 2 DS3's, a navigation controller, and a Razer Hydra all installed on one system made the program unhappy, so now it won't recognize my dualshocks or my nav. The problem started back in March when I installed my hydra. It would take about a minute to recognize a controller, and then freeze for 20-30 seconds every time I changed a setting. Eventually, program just stopped working.

I got a new comp and decided to only use the XInput Wrapper that people are talking about.

After installing it, I can only get my navigation controller to work. The 2 other DS3's I have aren't being read by the program, yet they are detected by windows when I plug them in.

Can anybody help me out? Did motioninjoy brick my controllers somehow?

Yep, motioninjoy is practically malware, if you get a new keyboard and have motioninjoy installed then be prepared to spend hours wondering why you can't get the damn thing to work until you realise motioninjoy fucked around with all your drivers. Absolutely awful proven borne out of Sony not providing proper drivers for it.

I have a question about this, it says you need a separate bluetooth dongle for this, but can you just have it work over USB? Or do you really need to buy a new dongle?

Yep, you can just install it without the bluetooth driver if you only want to use USB.

Yeah, that's what I using right now. Nav works, dualshocks don't. Frustrating to say the least.

The way computers handle multiple joysticks is stupid only plug one in at a time, and make sure you set the controller which will show up as xbox 360 controller as default in the control panel.

MIJ started blue screening my laptop. Absolute garbage software. I really recommend uninstalling it if anyone here is still using it.
