Now I know that it's pretty foolish to start this thread when this year's Monster Madness is almost over, but I'm pretty hooked on these reviews and I thought that it would be nice to share.

Basically every October the nerd breaks away from having his primary focus being of playing bad games and yelling at TV screens (though he still does that as well) to giving an overlook at the history of the horror movie genre. This consists of the nerd reviewing a horror film, chronologically ordered, every day until the night of Halloween.

Now obviously there are so many significant horror films that have been released that it's impossible to limit them down to just thirty-one. So he's pretty much made this an annual event.

I started watching these a few weeks ago and have been hooked ever since. They really educate you and show you how far the horror genre has come and how revolutionary some of the classics were as well as some cult hits.

These reviews aren't exactly like the game reviews because they are reviewed quite seriously however they still have some of his trademark tones and gags.

Here's the page that displays the movie reviews of this year (so far at least) as well as the previous years: LINK

Friend and I have been checking these out, and since I hadn't seen before, we also checked out the first two.

Some pretty interesting movies, and did watch some of them that I hadn't heard of/seen before, and they were cool.

Was thinking of doing something similar with Christmas movies, got a rough list of 25 movies or so.

That's pretty interesting. I'd like to see it.

These are great.

I've gone over series 1, 2 and 3 over the past few days and realized that there's a ton of great stuff out there that I've never seen.

He has a few good top 10's on the site as well, the Twilight Zone list is really good if you've never seen the series.

I didn't realize he does a new set of movie reviews each year. Now im not sure which years monster madness I saw.
If it had a lot of Godzilla movies it was the second one.

Finally someone makes a thread about this because everyone should take a look at these reviews they're done in a really well way.Great to watch during the Halloween season.

I've been enjoying these. They're quick and to the point, without always being too spoilerific. Good stuff.

Some of the reviews make me want to see some of the classic horror films.

So glad that this thread is getting replies. I was afraid that this thread would have died a near instant death.

I was kinda surprised that no one's made a thread about this either.

Yeah he has so much great stuff yet people only seem to mind about his game reviews.

watch them every morning before i got to class
James does lots of good stuff that aren't related to games specifically like the previously mentioned top ten lists, "board james", movie reviews etc

Anyone know why these videos wouldn't be loading for someone? I've tried multiple web browsers.

He posted this:

Blip has been having some trouble with “Network Outage” the past few days. They’re working on fixing it. If you’re not seeing the videos just try again a little later when they get it fixed. Or you can also check them out on the Cinemassacre YouTube channel.

I watched this last year. Great stuff. I'm not a gigantic fan of his comedy, but he does an incredible job of highlighting obscure, but notable movies. His commentary is informative and generally excellent.

He gets double points from me for making the videos quick and to the point. I watched way more than I was planning to because of how short they were. Thanks for the link. :D
