So are porn videos and their websites predisposed to bad streaming/loading

I've been an old soul for a long time, for about a decade I didn't own a computer that could connect to the internet, but I got a fancy new laptop. and decided to see what this internet porn is about, it's pretty shitty if you ask me. Because a 3 minute clip takes constant buffering, yet I can watch a full hour stream of Mike Kirby playing smash 4 with no issues. Needless to say I had to finish to mike Kirby's amazing smash techniques. Is it server issues? Are these sites constantly being hammered? Here's my speed

Now, I figure it can't be a problem on my end, The issue only comes up on porn sites. I've brought it up with Comcast and after exhausting all other options *and turning down a tech visit for $75* dude at tech suggested I download instead *Which is nonsense, this isn't 2004, bandwith isn't cheap* and I'm wondering why I'm having such issues streaming naked people. It's not tied down to one site either, this shit follows from site to site. What I'm looking for gaf, is solutions to my problem. I fear I may have to go back to the stone ages if need be:

Serious answer - there isn't a "problem" on anyone's end. A video only can have as much bandwidth as the content provider is giving it. You really think a porn website is going to go out of its way to provide a bunch of bandwidth to someone viewing a free video?

You must be using the wrong sites.

I can't remember the last time a video took more than 2seconds to load or ever stopped to buffer

fantasti.cc is a good streaming site that I found because it was recommended in another gaf thread , you're welcome

Well, I don't have any experience with that - but, in that case, I guess they don't see a need to provide for more bandwidth even after someone has paid.

xvideos always works for me. poem hub even streams hd without issue

The only site that kinda has slow loading for me is xhamster.

Annoying too cause its one of my favourite sites purely because of the great search function.

from a couple of years of lurking I've noticed a strange sense of camaraderie when Neogaf discusses porn ^^

Also xHamster has strange problems sometimes..

I haven't had a problem with buffering in at least a year. It's been great. Comcast got scared of Google fiber, and upped my download speed to over 100mbs. I can load 5-6 porns at the same damn time.

Maybe later, that smash 4 stream took everything outta me. Torrents seem like it would great the same problem as downloading them would. I can't even burn DVDs cause the Acer v15 doesn't come with a CD drive. I feel like I'm getting screwed somewhere, who puts a limit on bandwidths

Streaming video is really hard en-masse, and is heavily reliant on either site specific hardware on the ISP end (like Open connect Netflix servers that cache in an ISPs backend, because Net Neutrality as people understand it is pretty dead already).

Nobody at an ISP is going to write up the business case for a YouPorn cache. So you're at the mercy of how bad your ISP interconnects with Akamai, Level 3 et al. And some ISPs are really fucking bad at it in certain areas, and it's really hard as a customer to identify.

Edit: also just go and buy DRM free downloads from Clips4sale like everyone else. Problem solved.

If you have any kind of web security software, disable it. For example, Avast's "Web Companion" you download when you download their anti-virus will block all porn streams, while trusted streams like Netflix, YouTube, etc all work fine.

Was right with you up until the end. Does anyone else here know what Clips4sale is? That sounds sketchy as fu.. who am I kidding we're talking about porn here.

Honestly I don't see the need for any antivirus past malwarebytes (or windows defender)
Unless you share the pc, in which case, my condolences
.

If someone uses no script/script safe when streaming, or pays attention when downloading freeware they'll be fine. Common sense things like "this porn I downloaded is an .exe, fuck that" and the above have kept me virus free for years.
