A lot of people were asking about a second thread for strictly amiibo card trading, so here we go. (Mods, if you guys think this should be combined into the other, that's cool too.)

SalvaPot has some nice rules, we'll stick with them:

-No scalpers or overpricing allowed. If you want to make bank, that's fine, but do it on the General Buy/Sell/Trade thread, not here.

-Take photos of the Amiibo card(s) you want to trade or send away and, if possible, with the receipt of what you paid for it. Edit and erase bits that have your personal information.
-Be reasonable. You probably won't be trading a hundred cards for one, so just work out what you'll be trading among you and your trade partner!
-Be polite. Remember this is a help thread, not a charity. No one here is forced to give you something they own, this is a voluntary thing. Be respectful and truthful.
-Once your trade is done successfully, be sure to comeback and leave positive feedback to the user that made the trade with you.
-If you want to offer more for an amiibo, do it from your own will and after the first offer is made.
-Have fun! We all are collectors and we just want to make the hunt easier!
-Feel free to negotiate if you feel you are not getting a fair deal, don't be afraid to speak your mind as long as its done in a respectful manner, don't be a Waluigi.

Between my family and friends, we have opened six packs so far and had one dupe between us.

I see others with tons of dupes. Did you guys drop hundreds of bucks on American packs? This seems to have pull rates like Pokemon cards, that is to say you should only buy a few packs then stop once you start getting dupes and just buy singles from then on.

You listed 35 cards for trade, are they not all duplicates? That is equal to six packs of dupes out of 100 possible cards. 18 packs is just over 100 cards total. You got a 30% duplicate ratio? That is some bad luck.

I'm trying to get a handle on how many packs is a good number to open. Based on your list, you have opened at least 20 packs. That is $100+ on the cards, and you are still missing many from the set.

Using the numbers posted in this thread by several people, and the idea that people with large lists are going for a full set, it looks as though the ideal number of packs to buy would be around 12 (calculated with help from cards 1-17 as each signifies at least one pack opened, minus one included with the game). This is the tipping point to where you want to consider just buying singles. Any packs beyond that will require trading to maximize value. At around pack 16 you will have more to trade than you need in return.

So, buy 12 packs and quit, then buy singles you really want. If you already bought a box, don't buy more packs and instead trade/buy what you need.

I've opened a total of 22 packs and have 4 more coming in, which I may not open at all if I end up getting the rest through trades. Ideally, you may just want to open up 17 packs so you get at least 17 of the specials. That way if you end up with a duplicate of a special, you might be able to swing a 1-for-1 trade for something that you're missing.

Ok dudes/dudettes, here is a real sob story for you.

My nine-year-old daughter opened a pack today and got Molly, one of her favourites. However, the card doesn't seem to work. We've tried it on two systems so far and neither acknowledge the card. We've tried about six cards so far and all work flawlessly except this one.

I called Nintendo and their solution is for me to mail all six cards from the pack with my receipt and they will send me a new pack. That is pointless since we want Molly and not a new random pack. They do not offer a straight up replacement. I fact, the official solution is "buy a new card".

So, here I am, asking if anyone has a spare Molly #99 to sell. I am in Ontario, Canada.

Just opened 10 packs. Had 16 duplicates (I had like 4 Berthas or what ever that Hippo's name is).

44/60 cards don't seem too bad. Will list my cards some time soon but trading will be difficult for me since I'm not located in the US and the card packs are not even sold here yet.
