If you want to show Narcissa appreciation you can do so here.

Update: Vlog 4/8/2016

Popular streamer Narcissa Wright (formerly known as Cosmo Wright before transitioning (trans woman)), known for Ocarina of Time speedruns and Super Smash Bros. primarily, seems to have endured recently very bad treatment from some people, resulting in the closure (by personal decision) of her Twitch account (from where all her income came, so she lacks income now). Her recent tweets have me worried:

From what I understand she has ever since "announcing" her transition received a steady stream of hate and otherwise nasty comments (on YouTube primarily). This is a very sad development and people treating her this way is absolutely abysmal.

I wish Narcissa all the best. Feel free to send her some encouraging messages. I hope she'll be able to get back from all this.

Suicide Attempts among Transgender and Gender Non-Conforming Adults

According to surveys by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and Williams Institute, 4.6 percent of the overall U.S. population has self-reported a suicide attempt, with that number climbing to between 10 and 20 percent for lesbian, gay or bisexual respondents. By comparison, 41 percent of trans or gender non-conforming people surveyed have attempted suicide.

Searched but found no prior thread on this.

I went through this with someone close to me, and the fact that she's still alive means there's time to fix things or get on the path to doing so.

She's not committed to suicide; she's committed to shouting out in pain, for help, using suicide as a megaphone.

Hope someone close can help.

Holy crap, that's harsh. I remember reading her interview in Kotaku a few months ago and she seemed to be a really nice person and very passionate about video games and arts in general, really hope she manages to get through this.

I hope she can get help quickly. Always feels weird/shitty to see this happening but not being able to directly help the person

Cosmo Wright? One of my favorite streamers? Noooo... :(

I have a trans-friend. She ( used to be a he ) is a very sweet person, and very courageous to go through with what she did ( she lives in a small town, and I don't think most folk there are very open-minded ).

Fortunately she doesn't care about what others think. She's much happier now than before. I certainly hope Cosmo, or Narcissa, starts to feel better, too. I wish her strength.

Fucking awful. I feel so bad for her. Always loved watching her show up for the Games Done Quick events. Always such insightful commentary and skillful play.

It fucking sucks that she has to endure such fucking garbage just because she wants to be true to herself and be the person she really is.

I hope she gets help she needs.

The internet is a shitty place, but there's lots of amazing people out there.

A lot of it sadly comes down to whether you as an individual in the spotlight can ignore the assholes, and simply converse and listen to the reasonable folk. Most of us are random folks on NeoGAF who can have some meltdowns if someone doesn't enjoy a game we do, we're all human. So we can easily empathise with a person who receives daily, if not hourly shit hurled at them without good reason. Most of us don't need to put up with that.

Heck I deleted my FB when my ex left me for someone else, and still haven't used it since... But I guess I much prefer Twitter anyway XD. Point being lashing out by deleting stuff is understandable. Wish her all the best.

She needs to stop reading Internet comments. Go outside and talk to real people. If real people are still mean to you because you're transgenre, you should have known before doing this operation that being trans is not something amazingly well accepted by a lot of people (I don't want to be rude or what, I hope she'll get better).

Having just wrote a paper on the rate of suicide amongst trans people, this makes me all the more upset. I hope she is able to get the help she deserves, and that she is able to find a brighter side to life through all the darkness looming around her. She is beautiful, and does not deserve the treatment she is receiving.

Did not know of the transitioning, hope she gets help and will feel better.

Sad to see so many are just cruel, but that is twitch sadly.. a cesspool of hatred

This is fucking sad.
The gaming community is just filled with some of the most awfullest people on the face of the earth.

Its infuriating that nothing can be done.

Genuinely believe that Narcissa can bounce back from this. Sometimes we all need to step back from the things we feel at home with, even the internet.

If she can figure things out on her own end without the interruption of the internet criticism, I think that will be apparent in the way she conducts herself on streams/youtube/twitter.

If you're having fun producing internet content, the people watching will also have fun.

Wow!

I just can't..

Had no idea cosmo changed gender. She's a legend for those awesome speedruns and I honestly hope she can get some personal support to get through this. If she's taking any hormone treatment I can imagine it would make the situation more intense.

Maybe a dumb idea, but perhaps we can use this thread to wish her the best and show it to her, so she can see the world's not all bad? Just a small sign of support.

Hey guess what. People in the real world are just as shitty to trans people. Its not just an internet problem. Its a cultural problem of people being fucking shit heads.

Fuck off man. You do realise that trans is a fucking gender, right? which means that she has to live...

Oh fuck it, this is just frustrating.

Not sure if you've been following the news lately about some bills that have passed in some states.

Wow I didn't know about the change. I wish her all the best and hope she recovers. I always enjoyed her speedruns. Would love to see her attend AGDQ or SGDQ again in the future.

Wow that sucks, although even when she known as Cosmo she would have some streams in which she felt worthless, I hope her fans can help her as this is a cry for help. It must all just be twitter BS as her stream was always sub only since transitioning.

I hope she doesn't do anything harmful to herself. It would be a loss for the speedrun community.
She doesn't speed run anymore after some wrist problem I think.

It is very sad o see this happening to her is there anyway at all that we can use this thread to send some love and helpful messages her way before something terrible happens?

Sucks that many are still close minded ..

Just because we don't agree with some ones life choices or how they act it doesn't give any of us the right to treat them bad or judge them ..

Sucks that our community (gamers) make part of it so damn much

We as a group should just be happy for our love for games and support those who do the same and leave all else color race sex gender apart shouldnt matter ...

In any case all the best to the person going through all of this !

Before anyone goes on about "she should have known!", just stop.

Think of how shitty it would be to feel a constant discomfort in your own skin. Like a deep discomfort. That's what trans people have to live with. That's why is it imperative that they make the transition. This is what I tell people when they say, "they're freaks", or "it's unnatural!".

Just try to have some perspective.

People can be such sacks of shit sometimes. Hope Narcissa can make it through this, though with her account already deleted it sounds like she's already dug a pretty deep hole.

Dude.

I actually hope she sees this thread. Internet is full of assholes, but GAF is a nice haven amidst the storm of garbage.

We do get the occasional cretins pop up, but full credit to the Mods that they are always shut down, and very quickly too.

Too late:
