We sure like our footiegames in Europe. They'll probably be top 10 all the way up to christmas

Several of my friends/family used to get the new FIFA for christmas every damn year

I know it doesn't tell much, but looks like Wii sales (shipments) are down.. Wii Play is also out of the chart..
X360 looks like it's up...

No it doesn't - that's titles per console, an entirely pointless unit of measurement. :p

Hmm.... interesting week.

I wonder how many 60GB bundles are left in the UK? I doubt it can be that many now which means we should see Heavenly Sword, Motorstorm and Resistance fall of the charts soon.

Halo 3 strong in the UK.. gee that is a shock. :lol

Halo 3 has legs? People picking up the Arcade perhaps?

Wii is in short supply across the UK, drop off in software sales seems to confirm. Looks like the new DS ad campaign is working (casual titles on the march).

The DS is on the rise. Yay!

Hmmm, wasn't the Simpsons game promoted only with the Playstation3 sign on it? And it's the only version of the game that didn't chart.

Overal pretty boring week. Still to much soccer all over the place.

I wish Turn 10 would release numbers for Forza 2, I don't think it's been out of the top 20 since launch.

It dropped off the charts completely until they started bundling it with hardware. Around about Week 35/36/37/38.

Simpsons releases this Friday in the UK.
Not that anyone should buy it, the demo was pretty mediocre.

nope it was on sale since last friday.

I honestly expected it to be up there tho, I was in some shops and it was everywhere for every version, pride of place on display. Normally in the UK advertising + well known licence + multiformat + first week means top 5.

kind of hard to be on charts when it releases in 4 days for PS3 :lol

And the branding wasn't strictly for PS3, especially if it was coming out late for that platform that would've been kind of a dumb move considering buying patterns in the industry.

Wow.

Hm at Metroid.

Not bad for Phantom Hourglass.

Go Halo!

More Brain Training has been getting a lot of TV advertising this week. The ad actually mentions buying the original first, so thats why they are both in there.

Amazon.co.uk is saying November 9th for PS3 version (every other version in stock and shipping).

odd, maybe it was just dummy boxes without the preorder sign on them then.

Surprised by the Halo 3 showing.

I expected it to continue sinking in the charts. I bought into the "everyone who wants it, has it" line of thinking.

Third parties are struggling on PS3 and Wii eh? 3rd party success For PS3 is the fooball games and for the Wii its Ratatouille and The Simpsons.

Its been in the top 10 since release, it'll continue to float in the top 10 untill after Xmas.

I think Take 2 are extremely satisfied by the Carnival game. Didn't they sell 110k last NPD and it's charting in Europe as well.

If the Forza/Halo and Resistance/Heavenly Sword numbers are anything to go by, a big hardware spike for the 360 and a modest drop by the PS3.

Nice opening for Simpsons' game and Timeshift.

Ratatouille actually went up for Wii, and Metroid Prime looks like it'll drop just as fast as it did in North America.

I guess this confirms that Virtua Fighter 5 is a universal bomb. :lol

This may end up being one of their most profitable games of the quarter if it pushes anywhere near half a million ww.

Damn MP3 bombed in the UK, perhaps the shortages are to blame?

It's sold out on Amazon. How does this happen? It released almost 2 months after the US, Nintendo should have had more than enough time to print enough CDs for the UK, especially since they don't have to localize it and can import them straight from the US where the game bombed.

Does nintendo not want to sell their hardcore games? Is a faction at NoE corporate trying to make them fail in order to develop more low-dev. cost and easier to market casual games? I know that it sounds like a crackpot theory but having game shortages for 2 weeks in a row makes absolutely no sense to me.

01 (01) [PS2] Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 (Konami)
02 (02) [360] Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 (Konami)
07 (03) [PS3] Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 (Konami)
PS3 version dropping, the others hold steady. Probably just a function of the installed bases here.

03 (08) [360] Halo 3 (Microsoft)
16 (24) [360] Forza Motorsport 2 (Microsoft)
Surprising to see both jump up a bit. Could be an indicator of increased 360 sales? Or are more bundles going on? It's the first rise for Halo 3 since release; it had been slowly sliding down the top 10.

19 (18) [PS3] Motorstorm (Sony Computer Ent.)
23 (17) [PS3] Heavenly Sword (Sony Computer Ent.)
25 (23) [PS3] Resistance: Fall Of Man (Sony Computer Ent.)
As a proxy for PS3 sales, these probably mean things are holding pretty steady. Which is good, considering the spike from the price cut.

32 (10) [360] The Orange Box (Electronic Arts)
OUCH! The game is ranking pretty low on the Live activity charts as well (#9 last week). Not a good sign for Freeman and company.

NoE had to recall and reprint Super Paper Mario because of a bug. They actually wanted to delay Metroid Prime 3 but in the end they didn't and released it anyway. Now they are going to make sure Galaxy won't be in short supply.

Super Paper Mario syndrome. I seriously haven't seen that game anywhere since launch. It was in Tesco's in store charts as #1 the week it released, it sold out that day and I've not seen it back since (or anywhere else locally).

Edit:

So it's just poor management? There again, nothing coming from NoE surprises me anymore.
