Sign in to your Playstation.com account, and a big button next to your name will appear telling you to link your PSN account. Enter in your PSN ID, and you'll get your very own PSN Portable ID. A Gamercard, if you will.

So, what is your portable ID and how do you make changes to it?

Your Online ID is your PLAYSTATION®Network name that you pick when you sign up. Once your Online ID is set, you can't change it, so choose wisely. The Avatar can be changed anytime from your PLAYSTATION®3 console:

* Go to the "PLAYSTATION®Network" icon in the XMB (XrossMediaBar)
* Select "Sign-In" if not already signed in
* Select "Account Management" under the PLAYSTATION®Network menu
* Select "Account Management" in the account management menu
* Select "Edit Online Profile"
* Select a new Avatar or "Use Current"
* Enter a new "About Me" messageup to 21 characters

Your About Me is a snippet where you can tell other players a bit about yourself, your favorite game or what you like to do. Your "About Me" message can be changed on your PLAYSTATION 3 console:

You can currently see what your friends are playing, last log in etc... trophies seem to be the next logical step.

Hmm, did it mess anyone elses gap access up? Tells me that I need to call some phone #. My beta page access still works tho.

I linked it. Then I closed my browser and went back to the website, and it asked me to link again.

Now I get this error when I try to link again

"There was an error trying to authenticate you.
Please try again."

Ya it's odd for me too.

On some areas of the site my name at the top shows up as "David", and in other areas it shows up as "daviddoel". It's like I have two accounts, but on the same email address. I was able to link my account to "daviddoel", but when it won't let me access some of the features because that area of the site has me signed in as "David" which isn't linked, and I can't link now that I'm linked on the other.

I'm also a part of GAP.

If you look at your friends list online, it says this:

I wish it would show that information on the Playstation 3 console itself

I had the same problem, try signing out and signing back it, that seemed to work for me

also, GAP is no longer working for me now, hope they get that worked out soon
