Sym-Bionic Titan: From creator Genndy Tartakovsky (Dexter's Laboratory, Samurai Jack) comes an exciting hybrid of high school drama and giant robot battles. Sym-Bionic Titan follows the adventures of three beings from the planet Galaluna who crash-land on Earth while attempting to escape their war-torn world.
This information actually dates back to the end of March, but I heard about it for the first time this morning when curiosity prompted me check up on Tartakovsky to see if any of his projects were actually reaching production. Since no one made a proper thread at the time I decided to make one myself for news postings as information trickles out. This thread could serve as a home for general Tartakovsky appreciation posts as well.

Nice. Reminds me of the transparent bad guy from Space Adventure Cobra for some reason..

Big fan of Genndy here too. :D

tiny heart lady-bot= :\

I don't have cable anyway, I suppose I'll give it a shot when a friend of mine insists we watch the dvds.

whatever happened to The Dark Crystal sequel?
It's unclear if he's even still involved. Little has been heard from the project since 2007.

That's one of the reasons I was so surprised about this news. This is his first project to actually get off the ground since Clone Wars finished in 2005.

the west needs more original mecha on tv. megas left a hole that hasnt been filled in a while.

I just read through the full Cartoon Network press release and I'm more excited for Adventure Time!

Press Release

Also, wtf is up with CN adding like 10 live-action shows? Most of which are reality series/gameshows? Even a viral video clip show? What's going on...

Prepped (working title): A rebellious teen wakes up one morning to find himself trapped at a mysterious prep school that offers no escape. He forms a secret group to discover what they're being trained for and how to escape. The pilot is executive-produced and written by Paul Dini (Lost, Batman Beyond).

omg wut?!

Cartoon network can only get so many new shows that aren't tied up with other networks. That coupled with the facts that cartoons take a long time to make and everyone can only take so much Scooby Doo and you have your answer.

I loved Samurai Jack but...I don't think I will keep an eye out for this. That single phrase makes me extremely wary.

Dexter's Lab and Samurai Jack were both my favourite cartoons back in the day.

Although I haven't watched cartoons in a while, I'll be sure to give this a check.

Looks interesting at least. Is he directing it?

Unpopular opinion on the starboard bow: I really disliked pretty much every show he's been involved in as a director. Minus Korgoth of Barbaria, and thankfully with that he was only the animation director. Most overrated animation dude in the biz.

Edit: Director...hmm...I am unaware of what he directed. Nevermind.

Been waiting so long for him to actually produce something, will consume anything he makes <3
