ATTENTION: THIS THREAD IS NOT FOR CANDY SWAP REGISTRATION!
It was intended to gauge interest. The |OT| will be started in the next couple days, so keep your eyes peeled. If anyone wants to make sure they are notified when the new thread gets posted, subscribe to this one. Back to the OP...

According to my research, we're creeping up on a year having gone by since the last swap (which I unfortunately missed after having participated in the previous two swaps). Surely I'm not the only GAFer who's ready for another go 'round on the candy coaster. I'm mostly just trying to gauge interest at this point. If enough people are on board, we can get the ball rolling. If tmaynard doesn't want to organize it again, I'd be happy to take over.

What say you, GAF?

EDIT: Links for the curious:

First swap (March '08)
Second swap (June/July '08)
Third swap (Feb '09)
Fourth swap (July '09)

Yeah, that sounds cool. I'm in, hope I won't be poisoned. :O

Yeah, not sure if I should participate for that reason alone :lol

How do we keep chocolate from melting? Is there usually a problem with that?

This is my only concern about trying to start this in June/July/August, but the last one was in the same time period and it seems to have worked out just fine.

Everytime these threads come up it kills me, being diabetic the candy I can actually you know, eat, is simply a bit too expensive for it to end up fair. Man, I really want some of that elusive Diet Mt. Dew Code Red.

Maybe I'll join just for fun, and let my roomies enjoy the spoils.

Did someone say Candy Swap? :D

I think I can get another one of these started soon! I really must review my notes, though. Each time we do one of these the matching gets more and more complicated because we have to add more and more detail so users wont get matched up with the same countries again. Then some users get upset with their matches because they aren't ideal.

This time, I'm considering using a different process to match users. Zesty, PM me if you have any ideas. You're welcome to help me out with this one!

I'm in.

Location: United Sates, Michigan

I enjoy most candy, so i don' t have a whole lot of preferences

Willing to ship worldwide, but wouldn't be disappointed with a US person

never done one of these before but i'm excited

I'd be down, we have a cool local place (For the Love of Chocolate) that makes their own candy and they sell a bunch of excellent candy as well.

Missed out last time, definitely up for this one!

Ditto. I might be able to pick up some Mackinac Island fudge. Delicious.

Location: Michigan, United States
Type of Candy: No preferences, anything goes. (Except for those weird chocolate covered insects thigies.).

Will ship internationally. (Would prefer it actually) :D

Looks like we definitely have enough interest to make it worth the effort of setting it up. tmaynard is too busy to run it this time, so I'm taking it upon myself to get everything organized (with his help and guidance). |OT| to be posted in the very near future (probably this weekend).

Save your location and desired candies for the OT! And thanks to everyone for helping to get the ball rolling on this one.

Yes yes yes, do want!

London, UK here. Will gladly exchange with any nationality (Except French since I am French and I know my French candy :D).

Yay

I participated in the first swap. Sent Google some Texas-themed candy. Got nothing back from him.

Gah, I still feel burned about that.

any Peruvians in the swap? It has been too long since I have had galletas de lucuma. Tuyo con Mani, Cua Cua, and other favorites
