interesting, anyone tried uploading a 2mb+ gif? that was the reason why i invested in a imgur pro account and if this site does it for free im cancelling.


also im away from my home comp so i cant test this out.

Not bad, not bad at all. Now we just need an 'upload from URL' option. Also from the FAQ is that they intend for this to be an all inclusive sharing site, so options for music, docs and videos are coming soon. :D
 
Nice, thanks. I'll probably only be using this for the rare animated gif upload as it doesn't have the convenient "upload urls" feature that imgur has. Seeing as how almost all my image uploads are just rehosts of images from other sites, 99% of my imgur usage involves that feature.
 
imgur fucking sucks. Since GAF switched to it, every goddamn thread I go into with pictures, has no pictures. Maybe it's a bandwidth thing with the site, maybe it's my browser (firefox) but it's a Goddamn pain in the ass. However everything posted in this thread shows up, so go go min.us

Reboot... That clear the problem for me.
 
I'm happy with either. Neither are blocked at work for me, which can't be said for most image hosting websites.

Reboot what, my browser? My computer? I've done both of those, imgur pictures never show up for me. :(

I always have to quote a post & copy-paste the image URL to see what everyone is talking about. For babe & Photoshop threads, that fucking sucks.

This is a user problem, not imgur. (clearly everyone else can see the images fine)

Try a different dns or browser. Something along the way is blocking it.

you mean like literally always? cos i noticed pictures randomly going missing (like just being empty somehow, not a little broken image picture from the browser) but i thought it was just chrome flipping out sometimes because its fairly rare.

this new thing looks boss with the drag n drop shit

Are the images anonymous?

Yep, Minus provides a sharing service that allows anonymous uploading and all images and galleries will be kept anonymous.

Will other people be able to see my images?

No, only you and the people you choose to share your gallery and image link with will be able to see it. Your galleries are stored confidentially.

What information about me is kept?

Just your ip address is logged in case there is extremely inappropriate materials uploaded such as child pornography, then we will have to report it to law enforcement.

How often will there be updates?

We aim to deploy new updates weekly with release notes posted on our blog. Be sure to subscribe to our blog.

hmmm. with that and the hotlinking thing it maybe sounds like they want people to make galeries on min.us and link people to those, and those will have ads, rather than hotlinking?

not sure how you even gallery though.
 
They don't seem to have a password recovery system. Argh. My password generator didn't save the password it generated and I have no way of recovering the damned password. Definitely need to email them so they can fix this shit.

Somehow people do this quite easily by mistake while browsing sites like Facebook. I troubleshoot it quite often for users. Glad I could help! =)

Finally a competing hosting site that ticks all the boxes on my wishlist and can finally make me move away from annoying tinypic. And drag/drop on top of it all, I'm in love. Like others are saying, now we just need time to see if they're reliable, cause it seems too good to be true.
