‘Test Drive Unlimited 2’ steers its way to the top this week to become Namco Bandai’s first ever All Formats No1 after its acquisition of Atari Europe. It is over three and a half years since the first ‘Test Drive Unlimited’ with the Test Drive franchise itself dating back to 1987. Nintendo’s Mario games which were launched the previous week, both bound into the Top 10 with DS title ‘Mario Vs Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem!’ (+72%) climbing 5 places to No6 and Wii game ‘Mario Sports Mix’ (+47%) up 4 places to No8. Ubisoft’s ‘Just Dance 2’ (-14%) hasn’t ever been outside the Top 10 and only drops one place to No7 this week, staying ahead of little brother ‘Dance Juniors’ (+290%) which shoots into the Top 40 in its second week of launch - in at No12. Retailer promotions on ‘Grand Theft Auto IV: Complete Edition’ (+116%) and ‘Madden NFL 11’ (+267%) see the former jump back into the Top 10 at No9 and the latter re-enter the Top 40 at No14. ‘LittleBigPlanet’ (-36%) clings on to a Top 10 position, down 5 places to No10. Originally launched on Xbox 360 and DS ‘Ben 10: Ultimate Alien Cosmic Destruction’ (+671) is also a re-entry, in at No17 thanks to new versions on Wii, PS3, PSP and PS2.

I just found out, many showings PS3 version is cheaper than 360. I assume it have just price cut.

Any particular reason Black Ops had such a big sales bump?

Good to see LBP2's sales staying relatively sold, surprised to see GT5 moving down the charts so quickly now though. We love our driving games here in the UK, though maybe it's that some people are considering TDU instead.

Many retailers (mostly Supermarkets) dropped it to £25 last week. A few online places reacted to that, so I guess it all added up.

When the cartoon is dubbed and/or broadcast anywhere as apparently a football RPG can't sell itself these days...whatever.

I think the nostalgia blast ended for most people when Super Street Fighter 4 was released.

It's doing well considering how most fighting games struggle nowadays.

Were expectations for MVC3 as high as for SF4? >40k first week is hardly a disaster (possibly even >50k).

Yeah it does seem kind of pointless i can see EA's thinking put 2 on the PS3 to prepare for ME3 but if people already have their characters and storylines from 1 and 2 on the 360 and PC why would they want the PS3 version? As we've seen doesn't seem to be much demand.

ME is one of those games where prior knowledge of the universe is crucial to appreciation for it. Or your just dropping new players into something they have no history with.

I guess it was to ensure that when ME3 arrives they will reach out to more than just the 360 and PC market.

I'll pick it up when the price goes down a bit more. £25 is good but looking at the 360 price I know it will go down a bit more yet, should be perfect timing as I am still working on my backlog at the moment.

set up for mass effect 3 ps3. i guess they are hoping that people who buy it at £10 used in the summer love it then get mass effect 3 ps3 day 1.

I guess the mediocre sales of ME2 on 360 and PC forced their hand somewhat. But a year later and full price had suicide written all over it.
