The game will be made movement-compatible and will have co-op play option. Competitive dance in a 20 multi-player mode with in-depth routine breakdowns will be included to give it a more realistic look.

Shit be looking like Just Dance, and Singstar did fusion dance. Especially since the trailer hints at using the Singstar mics...

Why does Sony make such safe Move games for? They're either mini-game collections (like PlayStation Move Ape Escape, or PlayStation Move Heroes), or clones of other popular motion games. Can't they come up with something cool themselves? For its apparent faults, I thought Kungfu Rider looked hilarious, and was a good way to make something different. Did it really sell that badly to end any non-closed minded Move development? And no, Medevil Moves, and Eyepet and Friend aren't open-minded.

I could justify Carnival Island, as Sony doesn't have a Move mini-game collection like that, but there are already a few dance games on PS3 (including one published by Sony), and this will have the unfortunate luck of launching against Just Dance 3, which will be on Move.

I am really surprised no one has picked up the license for Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo and made a dance game based on it.

I mean, the name is almost legendary.

(I mean, c'mon, if someone made a game recently on Days of Thunder, which is one of the worst non-Ed Wood movies ever made)

I don't get why you guys have so much of a problem with Sony and Microsoft trying to make money.

I don't because Sony doesn't bother me with this stuff. It was shown in their conference for around 5 seconds.

Amazing gif that. Not sure why London studios is bothering since Just Dance 3 is also releasing on PS3, sad to see huge a huge studio under Sony just doing Singstar and HOME, it has something stupid like 200 employees so must be a case of that number being wrong or it's a helper studio.

This is Singstar Dance without the singing.

In one of the shots you see people using the Singstar mics.

I think Sony is just reskinning Singstar Dance and giving it a separate name.

God damn London could've finished and released Eight Days long before now.

Ah, so there IS a thread for this game.

Word-Up: this game is actually good. If you want a Move dance game, this is a very good one if you ask me. No silly comparison with Dance Central 2 necessary, as its not even an option for most people.

Things I like:

- You can watch yourself dance from the same angle as the dancers, which gives better feedback on how well you dance than you might imagine
- Dancers are actually holding a Move. Sounds like a silly thing to like, but makes comparison easier.
- Once you do know the song, you can switch back to just watching the video ;)
- It solves just about all the complaints people had about SingStar Dance, such as pre-viewing the next moves, different routines for different difficulties, etc.
- Although this is a streamlined version of the SingStar interface, you can still share crazy videos as you can in SingStar, and a lot of dancers are pretty fine to watch ...
- You can record your own dance. You can then only have others play it locally for now, but I have a pretty good feeling where this might be heading ...
- Two player 'co-op' routines are a lot of fun. I recorded some of that at GamesCom this year (video is getting a lot of hits this last week), and it's cool.
- Decent selection of music. The DLC that contains Dreamer is a worthy addition (I love that song)
- It tracks your move hand pretty well. It doesn't really track much else, but as it records you, you just look stupid if you try to cheat. ;)
- My 3yo son can (and likes to) play this too.
- Dance routines range from decent if a little boring, to good on Easy mode. Haven't actually tried much on the higher difficulties, but they definitely scale up.
- It's half the price of a regular title

Things I don't like:

- It doesn't give much information on why you failed, and the sign indicating how well you did your move is always one dance move behind the current one. That makes sense, but it is still confusing somewhat. Not a big thing though.
- User interface looks a bit drab and boring, though it works well
- I would have preferred some kind of cursor with which you can grab the song 'wheel'
- DLC is actually a very big download. Each song is about 250MB. There are some upsides to that, but it could become a problem fast if your hard drive isn't very big.
- there is Fitness with some basic statistics, but it's pretty barebones. Just dance three songs basically, starting with a slower song and ending with a more intense one, then get a report on your burnt calories.

Things I haven't yet tried:

- Party mode (some weird thing where two people dance and a lot of other people sing, and there's rotation. No idea really.
- Singing. Not sure if you need the miss or if it uses the PS Eye's built-in array.

My creds as a 'reviewer': I got some bronze and silver trophies in this game, and danced a fair few songs already.

If you own a PS3 and think you can do with a Dancing game, give this one a fair shake. I don't know yet how it stacks up against Just Dance 3's PS3 version, but I've got a feeling it may do quite well.

Good write up... you can actually see some of the videos on the website too if you don't own the game

Dance Central 2 is the better system sadly :( Especially since the singing is pretty much a joke in this game.

Cons of Everybody Dance
-No full videos I still don't understand why they took this away. The main point of dancing is so you can watch your own performance afterwords! Not a 30 second clip
-No way to scroll through the songs with ease
-Can't use the official Sony Headset to sing the song
-Replay can't really hear your singsers sing to the song
-No way currently to download someone else's dance routine
-No Everybody Dance store so will need to get out of the game to download songs.

Plus
-Music is pretty nice in my opinion
-Difficulty actually matters!
-UI is pretty slick even if you have to use the move to navigate
-Ability to choreograph your own moves is fun especially watching your dance after words
-Party mode is pretty sweet, allowing for instant joining and dropping of players but wish there was more "competition in it"
-Can actually choose your song in the competition
-Placcards do help

It's a pretty decent game, but still think overall Singstar was better as a party experience.

Since this game is more dance it is in direct competition with Dance Central and I feel Dance Central 2 is a vastly superior game to this. Add full video replays and I can see it getting closer but Dance Central 2 is definitely better but for those looking for a good dance game on the PS3 it's a better system then Just Dance because it's actually optimized for the system and won't have to wait for eternity for your song to load. I'm looking at you MJ Experience!

Versus Dance Central 2

Sony win
-Video replay but still not full
-Personalize Dance choreography
-Dance party
-Even if poor it does have Singing
-Real music videos

Harmonix win
-Song selection
-More detailed dance moves and pick up thanks to the kinect
-Something about the system just feels smoother than Everybody Dance

side note: Finally able to dance with two people

Both have there good points.

I really wish Everybody Dance and Singstar would somehow merge together into what I would consider a better game. And have both a sing-off and a dance-off in the party mode like pass the mic!

Please Sony fix Everybody Dance to support the wireless headset, replays with actual our Singing can be heard and full replays! Break the videos up into 30 second intervals so it is easier on the user to upload to facebook or twitter but have the ability to splice all videos together so we can see the full performance!

I was willing to buy this game (Amazon has it for $30), but the overpriced DLC ($2.50 per song? Really?), huge DLC size and user impressions put me off for good.

Bummed that they killed Singstar Dance for this.

Your loss though, as this game is heaps better than Singstar Dance. Been playing it a tonne.

Just updated to Patch 1.01, though no idea what that does ...

Oh and $30 is actually the normal price for this game. So for the, what, 40 songs the game comes with, that alone is a good bargain right there. I do agree that 250MB download for a song is a bit much though, but that second song-pack at least has good songs all round.

EDIT:

Why in the world would songs be 250MB? Are they downloading HD Music Videos?

Either that, or they have three videos, one for each difficulty. Or both.

You can get this game for £7 from *********** right now. Which is an absolute bargain. In fact, a majority of the PlayStation Move stuff is being sold at ridiculously good price-points. Carnival Island, Medieval Moves and the new EyePet are all yours for ~£15 too -- hold out a bit and I'm sure you'll be able to find it all for less than a tenner. I think it's spot on for some casual party stuff, and I'm glad Sony realises that the Move stuff needs to be cheaper than full releases.

On topic, I quite like DanceStar Party. There's no point in comparing to Dance Central -- but this still does some cool stuff. The video recording feature is neat, and you can have a lot of fun just browsing through other people's uploads. I imagine younger people (particularly those interested in dance) will get a TON out of the choreography mode, and the song selection/Move implementation is rock solid.

I think the best thing about the game is that it understands its audience well. The game's super slick -- you can be playing within less than a minute of putting the disc in the PS3. Calibration is ridiculously snappy, and only needed once. And the Party mode is a great feature to have just running at the background of parties. It pretty much lets you hop in and out when you please.

If you're in the market for a dancing game, I reckon this is a good choice if you've only got PS3.

EDIT: Apparently that retailer is banned, then. Whoops.

Been dancing more yesterday. Also did some 'waggle' testing, in that I just sit down and move the controller. I can get 3 stars that way by being rhythmical, but getting 5 stars is much easier by basically just doing the routine, so it does it's job. And it is also doing its job in that I'm getting better :) I think I'll be working on C'Mon definitely as one of the first I'll try to get the routine pat, and then move up the difficulty. I got LMFAO down, but am getting too bored with the song already to move up at this point, as my son also plays this song a lot (defaults to this one at startup).

I can't stress enough how useful it is to be able to see yourself life-size next to the example dancer. The only thing that I wasn't expecting, is that it is actually more helpful to see a 3D animated sprite like in Dance Central, because the depth of the Moves is easier to see. Sometimes for the arms it is not so easy to see if they should be moving forward. That's a small detail, but still interesting.

There are also some neat little jokes in this game, like changes in set, characters or even the charts - I love how in 'I whip my hear back and forth' there's icons showing the direction of the ponytail. :D

I bought the game on release and love it. It's definitely not perfect I'll admit (on screen cues could use some work), but really fun nonetheless. Love its sharing process.

anybody have calibration issue where everybody dance video is dark? where you can barely see your face

xmb setting is fine no issue with seeing things

Anyone know where we can ask the london studios team to add features into everybody dance? I really wish to have the full video playback at the end of the game instead of just 20 seconds. The best part of the game is to watch your dance routine again! What really shined in Singstar.

Most wanted
*Full video playback
*Ability to play other players created routines
*Better singing support and audio replay (sony stereo headset to work)

Want but not as high
*Ability to use the controller to navigate
*Less repetitive dance routines.
