Mittens!

Also it's Michele (one L) Bachmann, sporting the decidedly socialist French spelling. You should also use that corn dog pic instead IMO.

edit: Also Obama's latest legislative adventure looks like another episode of the Mr. Bill show. Nice Mr. Bill (Obama) trying to make things better, Sluggo ( Beltway establishment, talk radio, 24-hour news network) offers to "help" make things bipartisan for the sake of being bipartisan (and not for the sake of outcomes), and Mr. Hands (Rebel Republicans) winds up destroying everything.

Fantastic title.

What time is the debate tonight?

Even though I'll almost certainly be voting Dem, I'd still like to see Huntsman pull through just so I can feel decently fine with both nominations. Feels like he's really out of the race at this point, though.

Thanks. If I started using the funniest pics I could find, half of them would be eating corndogs. The corndog pic of Perry is even funnier than Bachmann's.

Credit to ToxicAdam. Opiate suggested I use his.

isnt santorum the dude who got his name nicknamed a gay sex term or something

id vote for him for the humor of it

Huntsman would probably be an extremely good president. It's a shame he wasn't around in the late 80s before his party became a scourge upon the land.

edit: I have to admit, part of Huntsman's appeal to me (a flaming socialist) is that he lived overseas for a significant period of his life. Global perspective-and not just "global procurement of labor", Mittens, matters.

If I can make a late suggestion to this and future thread titles, is to include a numerical indicator for future reference when reading these threads. For example, if in the future someone wants to read GAF reactions to certain events it'd be easier to tell them 'It was on PoliGaf #3' as it may be difficult to remember the actual full title of the thread. It'd be helpful

Why Ron Paul Scares Rick Perry

By Brent Budowsky - 09/12/11 10:20 AM ET

One of the cardinal rules of politics is "never attack down,” meaning a front-runner should never attack or respond to an opponent who is far behind. Yet that is what Rick Perry is doing. He is intimidated by Ron Paul, and responding to Ron Paul. Why? The answer is that Ron Paul is a true libertarian and a true conservative, while the latest version of Rick Perry, the man who once championed Al Gore, is a phony conservative and can't even pretend to be a phony libertarian.

As I have written repeatedly, Rick Perry is the ultimate pay-for-play government man, the exact opposite of a true conservative and a true libertarian. Ron Paul, whether one agrees with him or not, is the true libertarian and a genuine conservative in ways that Rick Perry can never be. That is why Rick Perry fears Ron Paul.

I completely disagree with the mainstream media and insider pundit consensus that Republicans now have a two-person race. I again predict that Rick Perry will self-destruct.

Mitt Romney has inherent problems that are very deep and explain why he cannot rise above a certain level of support and level of trust from Republicans or Democrats.

I believe a new Republican candidate will emerge well before the Republican convention and will write who I believe it is, and why, in the not-too-distant future.

For now it is fascinating to watch Ron Paul get under Rick Perry's skin, and into Rick Perry's head.

Rick Perry is afraid of Ron Paul.

Rick Perry should be afraid of Ron Paul.

Ron Paul's very presence reveals what a polyester impersonation of a conservative Rick Perry actually is.

The beneficiary of this will not be Mitt Romney, whatever other insiders instruct you to believe.

P.S. the comments are extremely delicious.

Finally, a link to flying phoenix' Poligaf Podcasts

I'm not doing the full archive, because a bunch of those links go to the wrong places. If someone wants to do the leg work to produce a real list, I'll gladly add it.

I'm also pretty sure that some of those primary dates are wrong, but I'll toss them up anyway.

As for the Podcasts, if someone sets up a site that lists multiple podcasts, I'll add that, too.

Well, your banner teabags mine so that's that!

Too bad Huntsman probably doesn't stand a chance
Agreed. I am registered unaffiliated and probably won't vote GOP, but if Hunstman had a chance, I would vote for him.
Side note: I randomly met the guy once back in 2003 or so. Really nice.

Regarding that Paul article, I think he's right about one thing-Perry will go through phases of self-immolation for the next couple of months. Whether or not his candidacy dies or not depends on the Washington/GOP monied interests deciding whether to throw a gallon of gas on him during one of those periods.

He's just too extreme and stupid, with mediocre staff and messaging, to not have a few "um, maybe this guy is a bad idea" moments.

I'll just be glad to get out from under this tag, since I haven't posted on the gaming side in about a year.

I started trying to run down the links, but so many of them linked to the wrong places, and mentioned titles that didn't come up in a search, I gave up.

If ProPublica ever bothers with reader guides for Cain, Santorum, and Huntsman, I'll throw those in, too.

Non-US here. Don´t know anything about those candidates. But just from the looks, I´d vote for John Huntsman, only non-douchy looking candidate.

I heard only Huntsman believes in evolution. Is this true?

If so, let me just ask, "are you fuckin' serious" right now.

Oh wow. Sometimes looks really tell you about a person. No wonder I thought he was the best candidate from just looking at the photos :D

He currently has a "Banned" tag.

Damn.
I was hoping I was the other one. I want to be champion of something too.
Also, PantherLotus, hope you make it back soon!

Speak for yourself mate.

I am already a captain. I was a captain when I was 12 years old in the one game where I played soccer that one time.

Well, Greg Germann's got John Huntsman if they decide to do a movie based on the primaries:

I believe Romney subscribes to the belief that God created man through the process of evolution. So, take that as you will.
