I saw Bleach Hell Chapter earlier today, and I liked it. I have never seen a single Bleach episode before, as I don't have the attention span to follow 400 bajjiliion episodes. Not hating on the series, just don't have the time.

The quality & detail was really fucking good. Very crisp.

So...

Any other anime films with fucking awesome ridiculous fight scenes? The more gore the better.

Ninja Scroll <3

Recommend away!

Sword of the Stranger

I guess you can also give the other shounen anime movies a try too? Naruto and One Piece have crazy fights too.

Sword of the Stranger, for sure.

Gurren Lagann also. It's only a 26-episode series, but if you're strictly looking for just films, the show was compiled into two movies.

Hellsing Ultimate

Lots and lots and LOTS of blood! This should be right up your alley.

Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood

Filled with amazingly animated fight scenes (particularly for a TV series).

Some other ones:
Samurai Champloo
Sengoku Basara
Soul Eater
Black Lagoon
Canaan

Angel's Egg

Yeah, he'll be fighting to find the remote.

Also, check into some of Studio 4C short film compilations. Some of them are dumb or comical, but some have some pretty* good fights.I can't remember them all right now. I know "end of the world" is one, and both Brain Damage 1 and 2 have some good ones.

*As in epic in scale and well-drawn.

More like fighting to stay awake.

Just finished watching the Broken Blade OVAs.

I love how its a really good mecha series with sweet battles but they avoid a lot of cliches that modern animes have There's really nice production (It's Production I.G. You know they make good looking shows) and there are some really nice, mature political themes woven throughout. Worth a watch, trust me.

Redline. Maybe not "fights" but it does have incredible action scenes.

Cowboy Bebop The movie. Well, Bebop in general.

Samurai Champloo is another one, even though everything else but the fights is pretty bad.

X The Movie. Though it is terrible, it does have some nicely animated action scenes.

Gurren Lagann of course has incredibly fun and over the top mech battles, but robots may not be your forte.

Karas is another well animated ova. People seem to like the action scenes. It's somewhat meh though.

Highschool of the Dead also has really really good over the top action scenes. It's really dumb though and it boarders between good dumb and embarrassing dumb.

I shit you not, this has some of the best kicks I've seen. I could post some gifs but that would spoil it.

P.S: What the hell is wrong with the internet. This is the third time this week I searched pictures of dinosaurs in Google (safe search!) and scrolled pass some phallic reptilian pornography.

For stuff like naruto/one piece, people should just link youtube videos.

X The Movie. Though it is terrible, it does have some nicely animated action scenes.

If you're going to watch any X related animation, your best bet is to just spend three minutes rocking out to the X^2 promo video featuring "X" by X-Japan. It's totally awesome and, when it's over, you don't actually need to try watching the movie or TV series.

Yeah I forgot how awesome that is.

The tv show I don't think is that bad. I wouldn't recommend it in this thread since the action and animation are nowhere good as this or the movie.

This thread is relevant to my interests.

I compare ALL anime to Ninja Scroll. That is my ultimate action anime. Nothing has stood the comparison. The only thing that has come close is the Samurai X OVAs.

Because so many have said it, I'll look up Sword of the Stranger.

...but I expect to be disappointed. :(

First post wins, the final battle was the greatest fight scene in any anime to date.

Yes and all done by one animator surprisingly. Yutaka Nakamura. You can really tell with how well it flows. You don't have one animator drawing the key poses then a handful of other animators doing the tweens. True sakuga. So awesome!!

Redline doesn't have fightscenes in the way you're thinking, but otherwise it definitely seems inline with what you want.

You will NEVER see a crazier fight than episode 2 of late-80s Devilman OVA.

Edit:
I'd link some footage, but OVA2 is so NSFW I could probably only show you the end credits.

Broken Blade has some nice mecha fights in it, but they're far from crazy. Although, the attention to detail with the destruction of the environments and wear and tear on the machines themselves is perhaps more impressive.

Ninja Scroll is awesome. I'll never forget how Jubei defeated Tessai.

Haha I wouldn't watch Black Lion if you're looking for great anime fight scenes with awesome animation, it is an awesomely fun movie to watch for different reasons though.

As was mentioned you should watch Sword of the Stranger, it's really good and the animation is really up there.

I'd recommend Trigun: Badlands Rumble among recent films, though your enjoyment of it will probably be enhanced if you've seen the series first. Trying to put myself in the shoes of someone who hasn't seen Trigun, I think it would still be a pretty fun watch regardless.

Subscribed.
Red Line didn't have any crazy fight scenes but the racing was as awesomely dramatically actiony as any good anime fight.

Sorry this is off-topic, but since this is an active thread: I'm wondering about mature science fiction Seinen anime series with a strong story arch? Maybe in the vein of GitS. How is Planetes or Eve no Jikan?

To OP: The Rurouni Kenshin movie is extremely well done.

I haven't seen Planetes, but I've heard it's awesome.

If we are veering off into suggestion TV series as well I would probably recommend Fate/Zero. It isn't exactly gory but it provides some great fight scenes.

If we're talking about Bones movies I was also probably more impressed with the ambition of the fight scenes in "Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos" than what "Sword of the Stranger" has to offer, although I would consider them both to be competent action movies.

They are both excellent.

Angel's Egg
That doesn't fit what the OP is asking for at all.

Karas is awesome!
Oh god it really is not. Ridiculous plot that takes two hours to even begin being explained and what you'd assume to be the saving grace - the fight scenes - are ruined by the animators trying to simulate Jason Bourne shakey camera work.

I was so hyped up for that series, too. Caught the first half in a cinema and everything. Came away so disappointed.

Short and sweet (just a few episode, iirc). It begins in underground tunnels showing people who have lived there for all their lives for generations. Suddenly, someone says 'I will drill up to the surface!'- who most didn't even believe existed.

YOU HAVE KNOW FUCKING IDEA HOW FAR THEY LITERALLY AND PHYSICALLY GO!
No, seriously, every time you think they reach the limit and it'll end, they fucking blow your mind away again!

Also, they have awesome fights too and one of the coolest ending in the history of endings.
