Verge Rumor: Xbox 720 launch titles include Ryse, Forza, Zombie Game, & Family Game

We're told Ryse is designed to be Microsoft's new Gears of War / Halo mega launch title. It's set in the roman empire period and uses deep Kinect integration to allow a player to slash and kick at enemies. We understand that Ryse will take advantage of the new body tracking improvements in the next Kinect sensor. Ryse is part of four major launch titles for the next-generation Xbox. Sources tell us that a new Forza title with "super life-like" graphics will also be made available at launch, alongside a zombie game and a family game set on an island with Pixar movie-style graphics. We're told that the family game will utilize Kinect to scan a body and generate a virtual character in the game.

We understand that these four titles are a small selection of the launch titles for the next-generation Xbox. Third-party support is said to be strong in the first-person-shooter genre. Microsoft is also working on some improvements to Xbox Live, including a switch to currency over the Microsoft Points system.

I'm surprised they could get a next gen forza out in two years.

Ryse sounds horrible and lol at the "super life like" graphics. What does super life look like?

Also I thought Ryse ditched the kinect crap? The description of it sounds about as awful as a game can get.

And to be honest, I was hoping Kinect integration had been wiped from Ryse as well. At least for a big budget launch title.

Forza is great news.

Any idea who is doing the zombie game?

I prefer the rumour about PGR 5. Ryse uses Kinect so I'm not going to bother with that and the family game on an island must be Rare?

Nothing there really excites me. I may hold off on it. That's if it's all true.

I didn't even see the comments on the other launch games from MS. It sounds like a completely dreadful lineup. All I have any hope for is the zombie game which could mean anything. Are we getting a state of decay/dead state type game (doubtful)? Or is it just another action slasher/shooter.

Of course if the always on-line rumors are true, it might make it easier.

Ugh.

Anyway.

Stoked about Forza 5. GT5 was disappointing, especially for a game that was under development for 7 years. It shouldn't have even been comparable to Forza 3. Polyphony Digital doesn't seem to be used to competition so hopefully Turn 10 and Polyphony will now build off one another for top quality racing games now.

FORZA is going to be one great, amazing game. I loved all Forzas got the Limited Editions and completed all races in Forza4 + DLC.

However, this alone is not enough for me to jump back in.

Forza: PGR for city racing, Forza: Horizon for open world and Forza: Motorsport for circuits. Each on a three year cycle (staggered) guaranteeing a Forza game every year. This is what I want.

About times XBOX leaks started (again).

Forza is something that could get me to get a 720, but only if its not always online DRM.

It is a great series, not a single bad or even average game in it.
