That was amazing, how did the kick starter for this game only require 1.25 million? Seeing this, that seems too low.

My DK2 cannot come soon enough... I might really jump at the Premium Beta for 150. I am just salivating for ths game.l,

I can't believe how close this looks to the orig Elite, well with amazing graphics now of course.
This would be a dream game for me if my old ass PC was upto the job. I wonder what the chances are for a next gen version.

Looks actually good. They've been improving a lot over the past few months. Still holding out a bit longer though, I want to jump in when it's in a (even) more polished state.

I think a lot of these AAA games really don't cost the ridiculous amounts we are told, i think its more a case of brainwash us into believing it so they can get away with micro transactions, tons of dlc, etc.

Only 15 posts for the port begging to start, not bad.

Looks amazing. The recent gameplay footage really gave me a daunting feeling of space (as in the distance between objects and outer space), kinda creepy and I like that.

GAF, I love good sound design but it is so hard to come by. Good thing games like this are still released from time to time.

I have to say, I'm eating my words somewhat at this point. Elite Dangerous looks amazing.

I thought it was going to pale in comparison to Star Citizen.

It isn't stupidly priced.

As someone in the current beta, I think it's stupidly priced. I much prefer games that give beta access to all backers and use different rewards for higher tiers.

I like how Larian simply gave Early Access to everyone for Divinity: Original Sin even though the Kickstarter reserved it for a higher tier.

How is that port begging, i don't even know what port begging is. Are we not allowed to comment on a game and say you wonder if it will be coming out for other systems?.

It depends.

If it's a game so far only announced for the PS4 and you dare wonder aloud if it might come to the PC at some point you WILL be banned.

If it's a PC game, even if EXPLICITLY pointed out by the devs as a PC exclusive, you can ask as many times as you want when it's coming to PS4, and state as often as you please how it would be better on PS4, and clamor insistently how you and everyone on the planet want it on PS4.

So... I think you're good.

Ordered a new computer for this, Star Citizen and Witcher 3.

Good times to be a gamer.

You could've waited until the new Intel and nVidia/AMD chipsets in 2015, I don't expect those games to be made fully available before that time anyway and I want the extra horsepower.

Damn, this is the Elite I dreamed of playing back in the amiga days. It looks to have the spirit of the original very much intact too.

They have investors which finance the game (I don't know the exact sum, I think it was around 10-20 mio.). The Kickstarter was only done to prove to those investors that there are people who are interested in this game.

Yeah, but I had to buy now or very unsure when I could buy again... :)

The beginning of that actually gave me huge Darkstar One vibes for some reason. Darkstar was a 'bottle of water in the desert' title.
Game is coming together very nicely. So fun to see classic PC Gaming again. The CRPG and Space Combat flavour has aged well.

CV1. I'm holding off on almost everything until that hits.

Yeah it does sound really good durante.
The thunk when the space barrel (:p) hit's the fuselage is awesome as is the ambient sound inside the docking station.

My little old phenom II 3 core and hd6870 weep, I really need to upgrade<.<

That's some strange logic, you could have just put the money in a piggy bank.

I remember the first few days of the Kickstarter when the pitch consisted of nothing but Braben jabber on and on. Felt like the beginning of a disaster, I had no trust at all. How things have changed.

I think it's amazing how this game went from apparent cashgrab to looking more complete than Star Citizen. Looks great.

Not my money, hence why I could buy :)

Never played the original Elite though I watched that Charlie Brooker "How Videogames Changed the World" and his piece on Elite sounded really interesting. But Wing Commander Privateer and Privateer 2 are two of my favorite games of all time. This definitely gives me that vibe but with even more freedom and expansiveness.

Needs a new title. Elite: Dangerous sounds like a squad based military shooter. Looks fantastic though.

This. I had not checked this game before due to guessing it would be some kind of military shooter. I was clearly mistaken tho, and this game is looking really good.

This, No Man's Sky and possibly The Universim... so many hopes.
