So... What's the plot?
Super Dish... A sweet, beautiful sound comes from those words. They bring to mind great cooking and great racks. The perfect combination.

Who strives to master the path to the Super Dish? Not nearly enough people, that's who.

This year, the Super Dish Gourmet Cook-Off will be held here at Hanzō Street Shopping District.

At first, I meant for this competition to be a show of skill for those who have mastered the Super Dish, but few were eager to take up that challenge. So I've prepared a grand prize for the competition: a Secret Ninja Art Scroll with the power to grant one wish. Any wish.

Now, why would a scroll with the power to alter the fabric of the world be given away so easily?

Why, indeed? The truth lies hidden beneath a veil of dark and shocking conspiracies...

There are three modes of play. Story Mode progresses through the main game, Free Mode allows for customized cooking showdowns, and Arcade Mode includes comprehensive online leaderboards to see how you stack up against your already pretty stacked competition. Each mode has three difficulties as well: Easy, Medium, and Hard.

The object of the game is simple: press the d-pad and the face buttons in time with the music to out-cook your opponent. There are three judging segments per round, that judge being Asuka's grandfather Hanzo. If you lose all three rounds, your character will be stripped of their cooking license - and everything else. But if you do an especially good job of decimating your opponent with your mad cooking skills, you'll be rewarded handsomely.

So, you said the fanservice was ramped up in Shinovi Versus; what about this game?

Oh, it's up there. Don't worry, there's plenty of Life and Hometown to be had here.

Is this game canon?

Not at all. It's a spin-off of a spin-off, basically.

Anything else I should know about the game?

It makes the BEST gifs.

Special thanks go to Sats for the OT title and info gathering, Smashkirby and Jennytablina for being awesome proofreaders. Also, thank you to XSEED for bringing these games to us.

I'm excited about this game! Finally, a game where I don't have to kick someone for playing Daidoji!
Far too many games coming out right now though.

I'm not sure how I'm gonna fit this in considering I'm still playing a lot of Shinovi Versus (online) and FFXIV aaaaand Tales of Hearts R/Valkyria Chronicles PC are coming out tomorrow.

So. Many. Games.

Its only $15? For some reason I kept thinking it was $30. Awesome :D

Gotta delete a game from my system though to fit it in.

are you kidding me
I thought this would take less space than SV. My 64GB card will run out faster than I expected.

2.5GB is also only for the base game. I don't know how big the other optional add-on is, with the extra characters and songs.

Eeehhhh, I'm gonna wait. $15 for only 10 songs (well, 11 since I have Daidouji) is rather steep with my current funds, & it's another $15 to get the other 10 characters/songs as DLC.

Also, you should add Daidouji & Rin to the roster list.

Well, it's $15 for the base game (10 songs/characters from Hanzo & Crimson), then another $15 to get Geseen & Hebijo and their songs, so it totals $30 if you want everything.

It is $30 total, if you purchase both the base game (which has only Hanzo and the Crimson Squad) and the Gessen/Hebijo pack, which will also be $14.99.

Shinovi Versus actually turned out to be an amazing game and not just the fan service. Like the actual game was excellent.

This looks completely different however. Is it still worth picking up?

I checked the Japanese PSN Store and the combo pack is 2.3GB, Pack A (base game) is 1.6GB and Pack B is 742MB.
So I guess they threw all of it into the western base game and the rest is just unlock keys. Bigger crisis hopefully averted.

It's kind of amazing to me that games like these get made for real Sony/Nintendo/Microsoft sponsored hardware. Although seemingly mostly just Nintendo and Sony handhelds.

Not as bad as first feared, then. Thanks for confirming.

Ohhhh :/

That explains it then.

Maybe I'll just get the first half and maybe get the second half sometime down the line then.

It might be a good idea to mention the DLC pack, or perhaps this quote from Xseed's Facebook:

"The game includes the girls of Hanzo and Crimson Squad, complete with story routes for each girl to play through. If you’re a fan of the straight-laced Gessen girls or the fierce Hebijo ladies, you can pick up the Gessen x Hebijo DLC pack two weeks later, on November 25th, also for $14.99."

Also WOW Rin is only
2
6 years old while Daidouji is even younger at
2
5!

FYI, this game was actually developed by Meteorise, not Tamsoft.

Also, I have it on good authority that Miyabi is 21, not 20.

...Otherwise, kickin' OT. Nice and colorful and... bouncy. Just the way it should be. ;)

OH, ONE MORE THING. From the PS Blog:

"All players that download the Senran Kagura Bon Appétit! Gessen x Hebijo DLC pack will be treated to a free soundtrack app featuring songs from the game."

On why this game was made.

“I believe that mankind’s three major desires come from sex, appetite and sleep, and we’ve covered plenty of the first part, so I think that next would be appetite. That way we can cover both sex and appetite desires at once,” shares Takaki with a laugh.

Senpai noticed me~!

In all seriousness, thanks. Will edit the developer; am on mobile and can't edit the character bit right now. Will do it once I'm on my laptop again.

Man I forgot this is coming out tomorrow. Will be using the $15 I got from last month's spend $100 promo. Looking at the trophies, it seems that each part (A and B) will have a plat?

Zonic

Okay, wait. You have to unlock Crimson in Shinovi Versus to play as Rin if you buy her as DLC, but here, you have to get Hebijo in order to use? That....seems weird, though I guess story-wise it makes sense.

Did this get any free DLC in Japan, considering SV got a couple of free lingerie & hair styles?

Yes, the "core" game is $15 with Hanzo & Crimson, then the other "half" is Gessen & Hebijo, like with how Japan did it.

Is this split into 2 versions like the japanese version?

Well, almost. Japan was able to release it as literally two halves -- you can buy just the Hanzo & Crimson half, just the Gessen & Hebijo half, or you can buy both.

We weren't able to distribute the game that way here, however -- we had to release Hanzo & Crimson as the base game, with Gessen & Hebijo as DLC. So you can choose to buy just the Hanzo & Crimson half, or both halves, but you CAN'T choose to buy just the Gessen & Hebijo half by itself.

We tried to make up for that, though, by pricing the game notably lower than the Japanese version. ;)

What I don't understand why put both parts in one download, other being sold as an key. As that burdens the MC, you guys should know that well. at that point, might as well buy the japanese version to save space. Also price is as same as the retail version releasing now, glad I waited.

edit: also since both are combined, the retail version would have been possible. there's no excuse anymore.

no excuse, except manufacturing physical copies costs a lot of real money and represents real risk compared to doing a digital release

you know, the most important part when deciding whether to have a physical release or not

SV must have bombed really hard then...

I'm sure Dekamori's distribution method was locked in way before they could even consider SV's sales. This isn't the kind of stuff you can stop and change on the turn of a dime. :lol

pretty poor planning if they were sitting on combined version that was given to them, but really glad to see marvelous japan making use of the combined version though.

Yes, please, take it to PMs. This thread is meant to discuss happy cooking funtimes and what recipes we prefer to make.

And something about music too, I guess.

Also Life. And Hometown.

I forgot this was coming so soon. I'll pass for now. May pick it up sometime next year as I don't have any room on my card.

hmm there is a ton of stuff coming out in the next couple of weeks. I really liked SV but I'll wait for the full game to be available before I go in for it. Hebijo is my favourite team anyway
