Oh. Games no one plays anymore.
The shop stays up.
That's fine.
If sony and Microsoft did this for ps3 and 360 people would be outraged.

Doesn't this happen (from publishers) all the time, along with the expected outrage? If sony and Microsoft did this for ps3 and 360 people would be outraged.
WTF!? I hate when companies do this, it's false advertising when you buy a game and the online doesn't work.
So basically they'll kill off Mario Kart Wii's online ten days before MK8. Even though Brawl sucks for online, I hope it's not a habit for them to be killing off communities. Imagine if Melee was online and they killed it because Brawl came out...
I'm assuming that Mario Kart 7, despite being under the N WFC label when it first launched, is unaffected.

So no more gen IV and V Pokemon trades?

Fuck, that means I'll probably never finish getting to all of the Picross 3D downloadable puzzles (there's way more than you can fit on the cart at one time) . I've been slowly working through them for a while now after finally finishing all of the downloadable puzzles for Picross DS (which has waaaay less cart space).
I'm guessing the shop stuff is all staying up since you can access those from a Wii U/3DS and they still probably make some money off of it.
let's hold a metroid prime hunters tournament, just so we can relive all of the fond memories we have of that game

Mario DS was the first time I used wifi in any device. It feels insane to say that, because it wasn't that long ago.
What does this mean for Wii to Wii U transfer?
Doesn't it need to be connected to the internet?
