Endless Legend is looking so good
Endless Legend is looking so good
Madly looking forward to this one. I've always loved my 4x space games but I never got on with any fantasy ones despite wanting to. If they can carry the ideas I loved from Endless Space into the fantasy setting then....well good things.
Looking at that screenshot, I am getting giddy at the thought of actually graphically seeing the city develop. Look at those small towers :-o I want to watch them grow into a big city!
Have been a huge fan of Endless Space, so I am really looking forward to seeing what they do with Endless Legend and 4X in fantasy.Endless Legend is looking so good

Also their recently revealed Vaulter faction looks awesome.
One Way Heroics is getting a released on Steam today.
I was trying to work out how Playism gives you Steam keys earlier. Anyone know? I guess it probably just appears next to the game in my library?

Not 100% sure what the rules are on posting your own game, so I'll just go ahead and do it anyway. I'm sure someone's going to let me know if I've done something horribly wrong. I always pop into these threads somewhere near the beginning of the month to take a look at what's been interesting, starting with the next thread I think I'm going to come be more active here; would love to join in the monthly votes!
I'll be sure to check it out later

Looks like a simplified Sidescrolling adventure RPG! I am getting some slight roguelike vibes from it, but I dont think its randomized, will check it out and report back as this looks too interesting to ignore, yet doesnt have a proper description either... other than you can kill dragons.
http://www.desura.com/games/blue-saga
This is a free indie mmorpg currently in development but released in a beta-version, so just download the game and start playing! The game features retro pixel art and a gigantic world to explore, both by land and sea. There is only one person developing this game at the moment but updates are coming frequently. My main inspiration sources for the game are: Dark Souls, the One Piece anime and Pokémon amongst others, but more games are added into the mix as I make progress.

A sudden day Bill awakes cloistered inside a strange fortified building He is told by voices on the walls that he's hired to play a game. If he succeeds, he is free; if they succeed, he dies. Apparently he has no choice but to accept to play the game and so he does. At first all he has to do is to leave the skinner-box made to test his skills. Pick some objects, drop them on a processing machine, grab the battery generated by the components and put that battery over a energy slot to open the door. All that just to go to the next skinner-box chamber. Ok for a while, but when chamber after chamber each challenge becomes harder and military threatenings shows up everywhere Bill understands he may never leave that place alive
http://www.desura.com/games/cubesis
Cubesis is a turn-based strategy, centered around the fragile balance of the Cubeworld. You can forget about other turn-based strategies, because things work a little bit differently here. You assume the role of Cubies the inhabitants of the Cubeworld whose purpose is to survive, that is to have full bellies and score as much gold as possible. The way to their dream is beset by many obstacles, however. For example the sea. To overcome these obstacles, you need to figure out what pleases the gods Ikjuch and Likael, and make them dry the sea out (for example).
http://www.desura.com/games/walk
A simple exploration game with a beautiful visual style and atmosphere with simple, intuitive controls. Your only real objective is to find the darkly coloured sphere. Look for planets orbiting it and the dark sparks it emits. Although you don't have to look for it, you can just walk around, listen to the peaceful music and soak up the wonderful atmosphere. You and the sphere are randomly placed around the world so each playthrough is different.

http://www.desura.com/games/box-out
Box Out! Is a platformer where you play a little box who tries to escape its factory in order to regain its freedom. It can alter its form to become a block of metal, a box of fire, a little bubble and more. Then it can go through the different worlds and obstacles in its way.
Oh god, TrapThem...
That developer is one hell of an annoying narcissist. I had started a thread on TIGForums to discuss the merit of indies, and somehow the thread essentially got hijacked as the developer shifted any and all points towards his game. The thread went from being about indies to being about gimmicks and trends in gaming and how TrapThem is so much better than other games because it's focuses purely on mechanics and other games use gimmicks and other useless mechanics instead of real gameplay and how only the dedicated TrapThem players really understand how good the game is, but people who just play the demo can't see the depth it has
Anyway, I definitely recommend Box Out. I posted some impressions earlier in the thread, but it's pretty good. Adds a nice twist to the usual precision platforming with its swapping mechanic, really ramps up the challenge and variety in cool ways
Barring things that disagree with my ethical or moral system, I tend to support talented assholes. I'll buy a Kanye album and I'll buy a Phil Fish game with no hesitance whatsoever. Conversely, I can't stand Chris Brown or R Kelly.Actually thats opening another can of worms regarding how much asshole a developer can be, yet still be supported by me with my money for his game. Sort of reminiscent of the whole Phil Fish thing who was being the biggest dickhead developer I've ever read in my life, yet still supported FEZ because its a goddamn amazing game.
And I really gotta hand it to the Trap Them dev... the games really are good. I mean the reason they dont get as much attention is likely the presentation, more than anything else, and its totally not great to go off on a rant like this, but ... the games were really good.

Oh man. Praise the Toma-bot, but my program just gave me these numbers:
66 + 82 games for the next thread, 72,000 characters.
That will take some downsizing.

I guess I'll do less games this month if the excess of posts is too much of a problem. Also some of the games in those SS posts have already been featured (Previously Mentioned). I could only do new games if that's betterEasily a new record based on pure numbers. Definitely will need to omit some games, otherwise I cant fit the OP format. I'll try to play some games and omit some less interesting ones, because we cant have this thing growing without limitation.

Toma-bot only responds to a certain post format, no? I think you could still include them without "clogging" the next thread if you format them differently. Up to you, of course.
For previously mentioned games in Screenshot Saturday posts, I was posting them in this wayOr that too of course. Simply dont use the formatting.

These shouldnt even be included I think.
Edit: Yeah, these posts werent included. TOO MANY INDIES.
So including those Previously Mentioned games are okay? Thought it was nice to include them, so people can see the progress games have been makingThese shouldnt even be included I think.
