Slightly off-topic but i would like to order the Final Fantasy X/X-2 remaster for PS Vita at Amazon UK and while FFX comes as physical cart, X-2 will come as a digital download code.

My Vita is linked to the Dutch PSN store. Will i be able to download the game? I know download codes are region specific, but do they differ from countries inside a region as well? The local price is around €50 euro so i would prefer to get it from the UK.

You should be ok with this, European codes work with European accounts, they are not country specific (I have used UK codes several times and I have a non-UK European account).

Unless there's a country specific version with only 1 language option as there has been in the past. It would be utterly stupid of SquareEnix to release a cart that is region free with a code that is country specific, but I wouldn't put it past them.

hey guys, what's Amazon.co.uk attitude towards potential price mistakes? do they use to honour them or do they auto-cancel?

They're certainly known to honour them, I got Lego Movie on the PS4 for £25, hit and miss, really. Also 6 bottles of washing detergent normally about £8 per bottle for £7 the lot which they honoured too.

Depends on the item.

I got the special edition Zelda strategy guides for like £69 when it first went up and the price then increased to £119. They honoured it.

I have FFX HD special edition for like £19

The only thing I tried my luck with was a SSD of which the price-mistake was well-known. And those all got cancelled, but I think they normally honor those.

You can always try, since I think they only take payment when they have shipped anyway, correct me if I am wrong.

They honoured my Wii U premium pre-order that was only £200. They're usually good at taking the hit.

EDIT: The page is showing a 280X though? It might actually be a page cock-up rather than a price cock-up. Would make sense as that is around the price you would expect a 280x and then the page review notice makes a lot of sense if someone ordered it and received a 280x.

the thing is, the picture belongs to a R9 280X, the ASIN code belongs to a R9 280X too, but the title, manufacturer and description of the product describe a Sapphire R9 290X Tri-X. so I contacted the customer service to ask for the confirmation and the rep told me I should get what's described in the description, a R9 290X, that's why I pulled the trigger.

Rodel:I'm sorry for any confusions caused .
What you can see is what you can get .
The picture or image on our website is the item that you can get when you placed this item to us.
Me:but the description doesn't match the image
nor the technical details, that's the cause for this confusion
Rodel:I'd like to inform you that
SAPPHIRE R9 290X Tri-X features the latest GCN (graphics core next) architecture from AMD with 2816 stream processing units and an enhanced engine clock of up to 1040Mhz.
It is equipped with 4GB of the latest high performance GDDR5 memory on a 512-bit interface and now clocked at 1300 MHz (5.2GHz effective) delivering higher bandwidth than the reference design.
If it doesn't meets your expectations regarding with the product , please do not hesitate to contact us back and we'll replace it or refund if replacement is unavailable.

before I reached them the product availability stated 1-2 months, and it was available to be bought, and just an hour after contacting them they marked the product as "under review", I think it's because of me..

So want to get South Park from US PSN, because fuck censorship.

It's generally accepted that Amazon.com is the best place to get US PSN credit right?

Yeah, but you need to mess with an American address if you are creating a new account and such.

eBay is also your friend for US PSN scratch card codes.

Reading that conversation, he was just doing the standard "I believe our pages are right, but if not, send it back." spiel, probably flagged it to someone after the fact and then got it pulled down.

I'd put my money on you getting a 280X if it gets shipped, but if you're lucky when you go to complain after the return, they might give you a voucher since their rep cocked up.

Thanks both.

I added LA airport to my Amazon account to get that free Thief Steam code, I'll do the same again.

Can't remember if California has sales tax on Amazon (I know they talked about it). Double check to see if sales tax is added during the checkout process and if it is, find an address in Idaho to avoid it.

Honestly I knew this game would plummet in price. It was the main reason I didn't really bother with it at launch (that and it didn't really hook me)

Also with Ubisoft games you can almost always rest assured that they will not go out of print soon and will be available for cheap after several months.

I know a few people have had problems with the ethics of adding a US address to Amazon and some people dont have a problem - however rather than adding a 'random' address you can sign up for a free account at http://www.borderlinx.com/

They offer a service where you can order stuff in the US , and they then forward it on to your legitimate address (for a fee)

I've never used it for that - but it is the address I have set with Amazon US the reason being that :

1) Its a valid US address in an area which does not get additional sales tax (I had previously set the US office for the company I work with but then Boston changed things and I found that Amazon had added sales tax to my purchases).

2) If you accidentally have anything sent to that address then Borderlinx will send it on to you

3) Because of what they do if anyone at some point in the future wants to check up on the address you have supplied then its a legitimate address which can be used by you (for those with random addresses set I worry that at some point Amazon will start trying to verify them and find all these people staying at strange hotels or airports :)

4) If you have a problem with signing up using a 'fake' address - this is not a fake address its a real one and its tied to your name and your 'real' address

I want the US physical copy for 360, what's my best option to order it to the UK?

Amazon is an option but depending on the title someplace like https://www.videogamesplus.ca/default.php is generally cheaper

I also think that although Borderlinx is a useful service their repackaging does not change the chance you'll get stung for customs so again i'd probably just order it from a US supplier and give them a UK address.

If your talking about Southpark then remember the US version is *not* region free so you would need a US console to use it

https://www.videogamesplus.ca/product_info.php?products_id=19757 is $60 canadian which would work out at about £33 and then its £8 or so shipping on top of that and factor in that if it gets stopped at customs you'll need to add another £14 or so on top again

Oh really? I always thought the 360 was region free. That's a shame :(

It's gotten a lot better, but it's publisher choice to region-lock or not. Damn Ubisoft, at least they didn't do the Persona 4 Arena-style region-lock for PS3.

If you want it uncensored, look at the PC version. It seems to run well on a C64 with the specs it needs.

if you pre-order at Gameseek do you get charged straight away or on dispatch? thinking about infamous...

Do you take full payment in advance?
At the moment we do take payment in advance yes. We do this to deter thieves - basically if we can catch them before we ship the items, it helps the government and us greatly and also helps us the keep prices down for the genuine customers, ie you.

PS3 version £24.99 in the PSN sale, then £10 upgrade? upgrade program for BF4 is live until 28th March

Is that still possible? I thought the upgrades ended Jan 31?

Edit: Just found a link explaining that upgrades for AssCreed4 runs out on Jan 31, BF4 upgrade promotion runs til March 28, and CODG runs til March 31.
