All I want to know is... Sins of the father song anywhere in Ground Zeroes? maybe at the end or for credits or anything?

Other than the ambient soundtrack, there's a few songs preloaded onto the walkman.

They include a new version of Heaven's Divide, Flight of the Valkyrie, and a couple others.

Next-gen holdup

The enemy is knocked out there though. After that he was holding up one guy, interrogating him and telling him to call his friends.

It wouldn't be the first time an actor becomes a major political figure in the United States.

Heavily doubt it though. He would be like 10 years old. There's accelerated aging, and then there's some Benjamin Button kind of shit.

Well, he could be around his early 20s in physical growth, since by 2001 he's the president, in his late 20s but looking at least double or even triple his age, white hair, kind of like Solid in MGS4. It's all shaky though, since Punished Snake doesn't really look in his 20s, although plastic surgery and nanomachines.

EDIT:
Thing is, Solidus is around 10-12 in real years but is obviously physically and mentally older, goes to Liberia and adopts Jack (he was 6 I think, when he was adopted) and as a 10 year old Jack already became the platoon leader, so it might not be a far stretch that Solidus, unbeknownst to his brothers in arms was also a platoon leader in his early teens (actual years). Basically, Jack is a brought up (as opposed to VR trained) mirror image of Solidus, later trained to be Solid, so looking at it in reverse, Jack's accomplishments as a kid would reflect Solidus' own feats as a twenty-something looking "kid".

EDIT 2:
Although, this MGR live action trailer is probably not canon at all, the portrayal of Big Boss is interesting, having gray hair and looking older than he should be. Just figuring that if they'd show him like that in the trailer, it's just a tad less crazy to imagine Solidus as Punished Snake.

Well, Les Enfants Terribles apparently came before GZ, which was confirmed by PW, Solidus came after them, so who knows! It also makes sense if we're going to see child soldiers, something Solidus accepted (for example: Raiden).

It's interesting to me that according to Solidus' history, he was sent to Liberia in the 80s, meeting Jack and adopting him to test his own theory about the nature of existence. It all sounds a bit similar to what we've seen in the trailers, with Punished Snake being in Africa and looks like Eli/Liquid is there. Kojima might even pull off some kind of hypothetical retconning stunt where Phantom Pain is the public (fake) version of the events that happened and we actually follow Solidus believing he's Big Boss, meeting Jack and pretty much living a fake life, the one that was taken away from Big Boss. It's all probably really far fetched though.

I'm watching the stream now on PS4. Despite the quality of the stream, game looks really good. Seems like the cutscenes are being censored during the stream.

So whats the verdict on content? Thinking of buying my co workers extra PS4 for this...

Pretty barebones. Camp Omega is large with multiple paths and buildings but not some huge GTA area. Tapes you can listen to. A few small side missions. And there's an option you can select where you can "free roam" the Camp during the daytime (the main mission is set at night) There's five small XOF collectibles spread around the camp that are supposedly hard to find.

Wanna say maybe ~8 hours? Probably closer to 3 if you're not looking for the collectibles, getting the trophies, or dicking around.

Not a bad appetizer to break your PS4 in with, but go with something else if you want a full package.

Its as razor thin as everyone expected.

With extra ops I think you will lucky to get 4-4.5 hours out of it. More if you want to get collectables and max rank everything I guess.

Ill probably get it when its on sale for $15-20

Also how do we still now know the ending? Worst. Leak. Ever.

Edit. Dude is going full on Commando with this rocket launcher

If you're getting one just for that, then I'd say pass and wait for more games you want to come out for the system and when Ground Zeroes is cheaper. I think the price is still a bit high for what we're getting, personally.

so uh.... is it true that they somehow can block streamers from showing the ending?

It's been known for a while developers have the ability to block their games or certain sections of them from being streamed directly from the PS4.

Don't hotlink 4Chan images, imagine will stop working in a few hours.
That being said, it's funny and smart.

The bit with Snake on the bike is obviously a non final design. I think when we see new hospital footage, he'll have the scars that weren't on the old footage.

You're probably right, but part of the fun of being an MGS fan is coming up with this sort of thing. Most likely it's not factual, but some times the community manages to pull out factual stuff out of thin air. Like finding out Gray Fox is Null in Portable OPs a few weeks before the game's release. We got that because someone looked at the game's soundtrack and started piecing up stuff together.

This is what MGS 4 killed. I'm glad we have it back. The nonsensical stuff, the crazy community theories. I love that.

This sx_sx dude doesn't really like the concept of stealth, does he? Maybe the shooting is really fun or something.

I agree.

I think the "movie" bit is pretty interesting. Never thought much of the film grain thing. Hope we get Phantom Pain footage at E3 to compare.

On another note, how do you guys feel about being unable to pause or stop time to change weapons? It really bothered me in Peace Walker, but so long the menu navigation isn't as archaic as it is in PW I think it's fine. Plus being unable to pause might mean we'll see multiplayer stuff?

I definitely love it. It make the battle become more intense and more immersive

Kojima said you can still pause the game if you need to. Just won't be able to access weapons and stuff. He did say anything you do is in real time, so you have to be aware of where you even listen to cassette tapes. I dig that.

I thought he meant just for cutscenes. How does it work in GZ, if we know that yet?

I haven't seen enough of the streams to really get a feel for the item menus, unfortunately. Seems like they're mapped to the D-Pad now? Do you hold L2 to open a cross shaped item menu and R2 for weapons? Or is that incorrect?

Yeah you just use the dpad. It's similar to peace walker but with extra buttons that split weapons in to 3 types. Dpad left for items. Can hold right on dpad and use the right stick to choose from grenades, magazines, c4 etc or just tap dpad for quick change. L1 and R1 are talk button and binoculars I think, not connected to items any more.
