1.84Tflops PS4 vs. 3-6Tflops PCs.Kind of find it embarrassing that the PS4 can't handle something shown in 2012 - have we been duped?

That what was shown in 2012 was running on two brand new GTX 680.
PS4 has weaker GPU than one of those chips [with ligter drivers&API] PS4 can reach [or slightly surpass] one of those Nvidia cards.
I would argue tho that due to being a dedicated hardware and api across the system. In a couple of years the ps4 and maybe xbox one can reach parity with a windows system running the tech demo on a dual gtx 680 machine
So he's saying the PC version will look like the E3 2012 demo?
And the fucks they'll give will be minimal if this blows up to AC levels of success. If so and it is anything less, the backlash from pc community will be bigger and worse
He promised new PC footage in a later tweet, though the way things are going we'll probably see that footage a week after the release.
Depth of field is used more often in the older PC demo, and to greater effect, while the appearance of ambient lighting and shadowing also seems toned down on the PS4, reducing depth and visual flair across the scene. Weather-based touches, such as the splashes of water kicked up by the cars or by the rain hitting parts of the environment, are also dialled back on PS4, while in other areas there are subtle differences in how shader effects are handled on PC, where these elements appear slightly more pronounced. That said, it is possible that some of these differences could be down to the wetter conditions of the E3 2012 demo, where the use of more extensive effects would make sense.
The overall feeling we get is that the visual presentation is generally less refined on PS4, and as a result the world doesn't quite generate the level of immersion it did during previous showings. But despite the differences in the PS4 demo, it's also fair to say that the core rendering technology that stood out so much when Watch Dogs was first showcased still remains apparent in most areas, adding greater believability to the developer's futuristic vision of Chicago.

Don't blame Ubisoft, blame Sony and MS for their hardware decisions.Kind of find it embarrassing that the PS4 can't handle something shown in 2012 - have we been duped?

Unless you've seen the PC version recently I'm not sure how you can call it BS.All those developer-sympathizers have no excuse to use the "bu bu bu da changiz can't meet the target renderz please understand" right now as this guy is [bull****ing] straight from the horse's mouth.
Infamous looks amazing. But to be fair to Ubi: exclusive vs (6x)multiplatform. Ubi has a lot more work than Sucker Punch has.Well, it seems that both are pretty underwhelming.
Infamous SS does come close to that 2012 video though, so perhaps it's Ubisoft's fault.
All major publishers think gamers are idiots

This is my greatest hope for The Division. PS4/One/PC-only.Really wish that the cross platform games stopped now - I swear this didn't happen last generation!

I assume you mean cross-gen If so I agree with you, cross-gen needs to stop right now.Yep, that is also true.

I haven't. It is a sensorized suggestion that will may or may not prove its validity upon release.

The reality is, both consoles are underpowered compared to how far tech has come in 8+ years. It's just that the ps4 isn't as underpowered as the xb1.
you are overestimating the power of the PS4.
I know this isn't a PC thread but I want to ask this question here since the current discussion is going on. How much of a handicap would someone be at if they played online PC multiplayer games with a controller? Mouse and keyboard just does not work for my lifestyle.
Regarding the PC version
http://www.polygon.com/2014/3/6/5474064/watch-dogs-pc-ps3-ps4-xbox-360-xbox-one-release-date
It at least seems to be pretty demanding:
Confirmed minimum specs
Rumored Ultra specs were 8 GB memory, Nvidia GTX 670 / AMD Radeon HD 7970 and Intel Core i7-3930K / AMD FX-9370
- Processor: IntelCore 2 Quad Q8400 2.66Ghz or AMDPhenom II X4 940 3.0Ghz
- Memory: 6GB RAM
- Video card: 1024 VRAM DirectX 11 Shader 5.0
- Sound Card: DirectX9
- Hard drive: 25 GB
It's a fair assumption PS4 games will look noticeably better than the Watch Dogs E3 2012 demo over time, just through optimization of one fixed hardware platform.
PS3 games went from
to
Compared to... PS3? We've barely begun to see what this generation is capable of, Xbox One and PC included. Your comment about texture, resolution and framerate more appropriately describes what PC gaming has been like over the past few years - it has been held back by last-gen console games. Once this generation starts hitting its stride, you will see significant improvements beyond resolution and framerate. If anything, it's those two elements that will most likely to stay the same or suffer, as studios push the boxes further to achieve more advanced effects. I expect to see plenty of 30fps, 720p PS4/Xbox One games in five years' time that look absolutely incredible.Never been into the PC gaming scene myself, as I just see it as unnecessary hassle and consoles tend to have a lot more exclusives too, but I may change on that front in the coming years.
It feels like PS4 simply upgrades textures a little and improves the resolution and framerate, but doesn't really bring much that is truly a generational leap.
When was the last time we saw confirmed PC footage, anyway?
Not really. The PS3 and 360 had quite some "hidden" tricks because of the unknown architectures. The PS4 and XBox are basically mid range PCs, so the amount of "tricks" that devs can use is much more limited since the architecture is already so well known. It is a bit of a missed opportunity IMHO that we didn't get true next gen consoles... but I understand the price fear this time.

So are you suggesting the PC version will not look downgraded compared to the 2012 reveal? Because the same happened with Far Cry 3, and the PC version didn't look as good as the tech demo.
