DD: Hotline Miami 1 confirmed for PS4 w/ cross buy; "Surprises at E3 with Sony"

Awesome, does that mean if you already bought Hotline Miami (PS3/Vita), does the PS4 version just get added to the platforms? or do you have to purchase it again?

Hotline Miami on my main living room TV with surround sound? My neighbors are going to hate my guts 2 hours into playing that ... or want to come over to see what is producing that badass music.

Very interesting about the surprises. Probably exclusive DLC for Hotline Miami 2?

Finished the first one on Vita. I never play games a second time, but I had to do it again with this game so I did it on PS3. I think it was easier with the Vita than a DS3 to be honest.

Edit:

Hotline Miami 2 or gtfo

They've talked about the second game already coming to Vita and PS4.

Hopefully if you got Hotline Miami on Plus, you still get the PS4 version.

HM was one of my favorite games last year, it was also my first platinum.

Super excited that I'll be able to play HM on my PS4. I'll probably go for the plat because of it. Plus I'm hoping for 1080/60, that'd be nice. (Wasn't HM 720 on PS3?)
Also, people in this thread are talking about potential exclusive Sony content with HM. I'm not sure if the interviewee was referring to HM or DD games in general, I don't expect any Sony exclusive Hotline stuff. They're not a AAA studio here, guys.

Aw man, I don't think the ones that "bought" it through PS+ will get it.

Damn it, really wanted it on sale a couple weeks ago to own rather than PS+.

Well, Lone Survivor was cross-buy with Plus despite them only advertising it for PS3, and vice versa with Thomas was Alone and Vita. So hopefully it extends to this too, even if it's not as big of a deal as games like Flower that weren't 60 FPS and are 3D and thus benefit from a higher resolution whereas Hotline may've already been at 1080p for all I know.

I expect Sony will be cuddling up to Devolver Digital to get as many of their titles on PS4 as possible. So much damn quality coming through that channel right now.

Agreed. They are most likely game announcements.

Why shouldn't they? I got retroactive crossbuy activation on PS+ content before (Limbo Vita, Jak and Daxter Vita).

Not gonna say no to a free game or an excuse to replay Hotline Miami.

I'm taking it when he says it's cross-buy that means in the same way Flow, Flower, Sound Shapes et al were retro cross buy anyways.

Wonder if the 'surprises' at E3 are going to involve them and some other indie devs making first party PS4 games, as started happening at Gamescom last year.

Not complaining, but, more indie games on PS4 wouldn't really be much of a surprise. I'll play through HM again, though, sure.

Since it's a Devolver announcement and Gods will Be Watching is due June, hopefully they announce a Vita/PS4 version.
Game looks amazing.

I'll double dip if they do.

I'm fine with this, Devolver has been doing a lot of quality publishing and I pretty much always look forward to new announcements from them.

They brought Hotline, and helped Vlambeer get Luftrausers out. They are bringing Shadow Warrior,Hotline 2, and Shahid was talking about BroForce. They have their hands in a ton of great indie stuff so it's smart of Sony to buddy up with them imo.

The Indie 8 was one of my favorite moments from Sony's E3 last year so I hope they do that again, or atleast something similar.

That would be awesome, it's how we get stuff like Fat Princess and Journey.
