I hope this thing with maintenance on prime time of both the timezones is just for the early access because its getting annoying.

Unf, extra days. I'm okay with this.

I take it the 30 days starts when we put the code in... so better to wait until Sunday?

Does anyone know what happens when subscriptions run out? I hope it's possible to take an occasional vacation without losing characters.

My download is stuck at 4.60 MB/s (university internet) but i think it's being slowed because of the disk writing, is there anyway to change this?

So the full retail version truly turned out to be a polished game?

Not counting server problems, that's a separate issue and I can give them a pass on that. I'm talking about the gameplay and game engine.

Guarantee I'm going to screw up this post? Yeah.

Really depends on who you ask. For me, the game is okay, I enjoy it when it works right, but I have been dealing with all kinds of lag, as well as 5+ character rollbacks. It's ridiculous. It feels like beta to me.

It looks better than the beta did and there are no bugs (or few ones if you like). Whoever decided they would use old builds as the stress test (which is what everyone judged the game from) should be fired.

edited to say ha at the guy above me. I guess it depends then. me and a friend had no issue so far.

So kind of them, giving us a free buck for having to deal with tons of issues. Or at least, I've had a ton of issues trying to play.

The only issues I had were about 2 or 3 bugged quests but they were fixed before it ever bothered me.

Sorry to hear that you're having problems.

It has been a very smooth pre-launch. Actual launch, which is tomorrow, should paint a better picture. However, you can read many impressions, from IGN to Massively, that praise the game and its polish, thus far.

Obviously, there are bug quests and other oddities. Although, ironically enough, my experience so far has been less buggy than Skyrim launch.

My client had the "repair" button, I exited and then it was back to "play"

Yeah, that's too late for me now, but I can start the game fine using the executable in the game dir.
I hope Zenimax will release a patched/updated launcher, since it wants to resume the 2nd full install.

Rhaknar

The Steam equivalent of the drunk friend who keeps offering to pay your tab all night.
my client says Play as usual, after downloading a small patch. Europe here. unfortunately I think im going to crash now, so ill play more tomorow

If anyone else is stuck downloading a full reinstall after downloading a small patch, this should fix it;

While the launcher is trying to download the 22 gig file:

Hit pause.

Use the game settings icon IN THE NEWS SECTION, choose cancel,

Using same icon choose repair.

Play after "repair".

Hey guys, I'm considering an impulse buy, wanted a few opinions. I really didn't get into skyrim as much as I though I would. I did play a lot of Oblivion though. How is this game going in with no friends to play with? All my friends are on Dota and don't want to get it.

Thanks!

How is the performance? Better than the beta? Is anyone able to max it out on 1080p 60FPS?

It still needs work in this regards. I am running a Intel 3930x OC to 4.8 and 2xGTX Titans and at 1080p and every setting set to the max, I have had drops down to the 30's at times in some of the towns and a little bit of drops out in the open. Overall, it runs good, but could definitely be better as I should not be dropping at all with the rig I have.

I am going to disable SLI to see if it improves. I have had games in the past that caused more issues due to SLI. I also think there is no official driver profile, nor a SLI profile (Nvidia) as of yet.

Ya check SLI. I am running 1440p on a oc'ed 920i7 and a gtx 670 and I have everything maxed and hover above 50 in all my review footage.
I did get one drop but couldn't tell if that was lag or actually FPS drops.

Welp, I caved.

Even if I only enjoy it for the first month, it seems to be a lot of content to satisfy me with.

Now to download 22gb... I'm glad I have FiOS

Thanks for the feedback!

Yeah I'm not talking about lag or server disconnects, I give online games a pass on those issues for a couple weeks.

I just want to know if the game engine itself is good and solid.

Did anyone else buy from Gamestop? Trying to put in my retail key now and it says it's invalid? Are they not going to be active until tomorrow? My 5 day imperial edition early access key worked the other day and I can still play right now but I'm not trying to wait any longer if my key isn't good.

Well I'm sorta hitting the wall (already). If this game had come out... 4 years ago... it would be amazing. But I think after 500 hrs of GW2 and 100~ hours of Skyrim, I just can't really get into this right now. It is just Skyrim with mmo quests (which aren't really all that exciting). The PvP, which I was most excited for, is a carbon copy of GW2's WvW, which I've played way too much of.

I'm going to take a break (I'm only level 11), and come back when I feel the game again (whenever that may be).

I didn't buy from GameStop, but I would hit up game support if i was told my retail key was invalid.

any guild spots left, War Macheen

also game doesn't look half bad maxed out, though some of the animations and hit detection are janky.

Nav I don't think this got answered. I have solo'ed for my entire review except maybe 10-11 hours with 2 other people. There is a metric boatload even just going solo. It can be a bit harder and I ran into a bug or 2 but its fine.

Everyone in the guild can invite. I'm not on at the moment. My laptop is breaking on me and I'm trying to fix that. ): lol

To be added do you need my Character name or just my username? I have a few alts that I made, not sure which I am going to run with mainly at first.

Either your Character name or @ID (username). Once one is in all your characters are in.

Fixed my retail code issues, Gamestop changed my product key automatically? completely different code scheme, too.

Has anyone noticed any performance dips since the new patch? Seem to be getting around a 10 fps hit.

Hey everyone. Looking for a guild invite, if y'all wouldn't mind a total MMO nub on the team. @virtualracer

Going to bed now, it's 3am. Only got to play 2 hours since I got called in to work. My impressions are pretty positive. Feels like I'm playing a slightly "jankier" Oblivion that is fully online, so that's pretty cool. I don't feel like I'm playing WoW based MMO #254. It feels like I'm playing an Elder Scrolls game. So props to the devs for managing to do that. Probably what makes it feel so fresh compared to the last couple of MMO releases...

Graphics are nice. It's no Skyrim but there's some nice art and effects in there. Performance was fine on a gtx670 and i5 3470 at 1080p. Good music and decent voicework.

Can't wait to play more during the weekend.

I haven't seen any performance dips outside of the major cities with a good number of players running around. I think it's more of a product of the final release of the game opening the floodgates than the patch.
