Okay So I enabled the new Andrex extension but they still auto play...not ideal for my CPU haha. Should I just stick with the Firefox version and use it in chrome or is there a way to make the wifs not autoplay in the Chrome specific code?

You can go to the options and disable auto play.

The console should show an error or warning when loading this thread with the addon enabled.

if you see something like this: "GET http://a.pomf.se/reojqq.webm" it should work though.

Ok thank you, i will have a look when i'm back at work tomorrow.

I have installed the Chrome one & that seems to be working ok, some are taking some time to load though.

I think I found out why it was stuttering at the end for my WebM. It seems Firefox doesn't like WebM ending off at tenths of a second or something.

Like take this WebM file as an example:
http://a.pomf.se/zsahqc.webm

In Google Chrome, it will not stutter at the end, but in Firefox, it will. In Chrome, it will say it is 13 seconds long, but in Firefox, it will say it is 14 seconds long.

So the lesson is make WebM files end off at whole numbers.

I don't know if it's been said yet, but if you want these to work on an ipad/iphone, then install the VLC app. When you click on the webm file it will give you the option to open in VLC. Works fine for me.

Not with the Firefox plugin by default, maybe there is a setting I should be looking for in the options.

There is but it's not working yet. Will do that tomorrow. It did auto play at first but it was very taxing for a lot of people so I disabled it.

A lot of the wifs here are pretty low quality and don't real show off the advantages of webm very well.

You can have wifs that look ultra sharp and with very small file size. That is the big advantage over gifs.

A high quality wif is encoded with VP9 and high bitrate. The file size will still be smaller than a gif and load instantly.

Can someone please post their ffmpeg input? My one-click solution is ready to go but it again spits out 4mb WebM's for 10 seconds so I would like to double-check :/

Using the extension. SO GOOD.

Is there any way to get the volume to be on when it starts? I have to manually click in the volume range to get sound to play.

Let me ask this, since it's a video file, is it streaming anew every time it loops, or does it cache itself to your hard drive like a gif?

Firefox? I will fix in the options for autoplay and auto mute tomorrow. (Well having both activated wouldn't make much sense ;) )
