I don't know if this has been posted but Respawn should assign people to teams after the match loads. Just have a big pool in the lobby so people won't freak the fuck out about stacked teams and leave the lobby. If they can't do that then they need to balance teams by Gens ...I know ... I know ... Gens are not a sign of skill. But when people are looking at teams stacked with Gens 5 or higher they are going to drop out if the match as that is the only thing they have available to them to judge skill on. It is getting frustrating to wait over 10 minutes for a match because people continuously drop out.

There is so much bullshit in this game that gets my blood boiling.

The hit markers are so inconsistent that eounds don't register.

Getting shot around corners.

Getting shot through solid walls

Huge lunge with kicks or titan punch

My absolute fav, they miss their kick, have their back to me and magically kick me without facing me even though i pressed for melee

These things happen, but for me they're very isolated. Sometimes the are a couple of games in a row where nothing works like it should. Where I can't even wall run without prematurely falling down.

People who bitch about team mates not being good enough are worse than the team mates themselves.

If people are blatantly ignoring objectives then yeah that's annoying but really, we're playing fucking videogames here. Who gives a shit if it's a W or an L on the screen.

Thing is some players are blatantly *ignoring objectives* in a game mode call Attrition where you need to score by taking out enemy pilot, titan and AI fodder call minions.

What I dislike about such players is that they died without trying to farm the minions (and most of the players are just starting out aka less than level 40 gen 1). I know it is frustrating when going against a skillful player but they don't even try to utilize parkour at all.

Also said players still do the same thing for the next 2-3 matches before the matchmaking start to randomly shuffle the team by putting them in a so called appropriate matches.

I never have a go at players as everyone has a bad game, could be new to the game etc but sometimes you have to wonder what some people are up to.

This. Odd that some players don't bother killing minions. Seeing some players who are at the beginning of the match till the end and never kill a single pilot or titan with less than 10 minions kill is beyond me.

I like this idea. People were complaining last night how stacked the team looked against us but we beat them each time. People need to have at least some faith in the matchmaking process. It isn't always right but usually it does pretty good.

I'll get my ass handed to me occasionally, but it feels good to know that I can still dish out the hurt when I want to.

EDIT: Goddamn, dat matchmaking.

MOAR EDIT: On the other hand: dat matchmaking...

I think when my time with this game comes to an end, whenever that may be, that chasing a Stryder off a cliff at Fracture will be in my top 5 lols I've had with Titanfall. There are endless ways to score a kill in this game.

So, I'm trying to play Titanfall with 5.1 for the first time. No matter what I've changed though, it won't output more than stereo. I tried a few movies on my computer, and they all worked 5.1 with no issue. Anyone have any clue? Is this just a known issue?

In the Titanfall audio menu, it shows 5.1. But my receiver will light up any speakers getting input to them, and my back speakers won't light up. Again, I played a movie or two and they all lit up/

I don't have a surround setup for my PC, so I'm mostly just speculating here... First of all have you had any other games work in surround sound? My guess is that the issue would exist for most games. For movies with the right settings your PC just sends the bitstream down the line unmolested. And I think for general system sounds, which games are kind of lumped into, your sound card just outputs LPCM stereo. Looking at my sound setting for my Xonar DG (not a particularly good soundcard, but it does have a headphone amp, which is the main reason I got it), I can output various amounts of speakers in analog mode, but the only option for SPDIF (optical) out is PCM.

Here are some screenshots from a match I played the other day where a bunch of the textures didn't load (This was on XB1)

I didn't do great this match because I just kept running around looking at stuff. Going up steps inside the buildings was bizarre, because everything would just turn blue. It was cool looking, but glad it has only happened once.

'bout to jump in for the first time (PC). Any first timer tips?

Playing the game like Call of Duty will cause you to run into lots of AI Grunts/Spectres and get crushed by Titans.

If you're having a hard time finding other Pilots to kill, that's because they're above you.

Never run on the ground to get somewhere, you'll be easy pickings.

Booooo, started Gen 5 and looks like the Gooser challenge is still at 50 kills on the 360. No wonder I've yet to see a Gen 6. Oh well I got one Gooser at least.

BluePoint is being incredibly slow with updates. Claiming private matches have been live for days when they haven't, not changing the Gooser challenge...

Hope they don't pull the same shit with the DLC.

Yeah man, have they even said anything about when a update is coming? I think they pushed something out today because I got a download prompt but I haven't checked what it was for.

I don't even want to play it now tbh. I probably could get the 50 goosers after a bit of time but that sounds like no fun to do and a huge waste of time if they are just going to drop it to 5....eventually.

In addition:

  • Learn to wall hang, especially in modes like Hardpoint.
  • Don't forget you can have your Titan run around as A.I. Good way to lure in Pilots and other Titans in Attrition/Pilot Hunter or cover areas in CTF/Hardpoint.
  • Don't worry about the dropship itself if you're on the winning side. Easier to mop up enemies making their way to it.
  • Remember your abilities like cloak or vortex shield.

It's one of the reasons I got the One version. I figured the patches, updates, and DLC will be on a delay. Also, support for the 360 version might drop before the One version.

I am terrible at aiming while running around in this game, but damn is it fun. I do not even care when I die. This game definitely has its moments. It was a completely lucky shot, but I dropped my Titan on another Titan just as the guy was ejecting. He was 20ft above his exploded Titan and then splat.

It's almost like you forgot that Titanfall was an online competitive multi-player game.

so, if someone jumps on my titan and starts beating it up, I just have to eject? how do you deploy those electrical cloud things?

and how do I do those cool titan melees where people like falcon punch an enemy titan and rip out their pilot?

Melee a doomed titan for titan heart ripping action.

Electrical cloud is a tactical ability you need to unlock and equip and it's the left bumper (XO & 360). Probs best ability tbh.

Also, melee a Titan on it's yellow striped health bar (doomed) before pilot ejection to execute them. All 3 titans have their own executions.

They can fuck off if that's the case. I'm not buying a One to get Titanfall that actually gets updated.

People on the 360 paid the same price and there are no timing agreements or anything for updates and DLC that I'm aware of. Hope we don't get the shit end of the stick because we didn't want to get an Xbone.

My future purchases of sequels in this series likely will depend on how we get treated on the 360 version.

Edit: I'm sure I'll take shit for this post, but hey.

Well, I've been curious about this game for awhile, so I finally rented it on 360 from Redbox and got a 3-Months Gold subscription to try it out. (Plus, there was some other things I needed to do that required Gold.)

This is by far, BY.....FAR...the best multiplayer FPS I've ever played. So damn fun. Take Call of Duty, add parkour and double jumping, dumb enemy A.I.bots for newbs like me to rack up points with, then add a large mech after the first two minutes (not just as a reward for killstreak) jump in the mech and fell like a badass blowing away enemy soldiers on the ground like ants only to get into a one on one fight with another Titan mech. If you get him weak, rip off his arms or grab his pilot and toss him like a ragdoll! If your mech is about to blow, eject high into the sky! Wheee! Possibly land on the enemies Titan mech from the air and shoot at it's head until you blow him up! Revenge!!

So much fun in this game even for newbs. Even on my worst matches, I had tons of fun. I love when my team loses (never thought I'd say that) and it's "Get to da choppa!" time. I've only made it once so far, but it felt so satisfying jumping into the helicopter and shooting down the enemies that were trying to kill me while I was a sitting duck only to make the space jump at the end. This game makes losing fun.

Well, I saw the Amazon sale and jumped on it as fast as I could. Can't wait for my day off (Thursday) and marathon this game.

I will agree with Angry Joe that the campaign mode is a joke and they should either do a full single player campaign to flesh out the story or just dump it all together and offer the game at a slightly cheaper price as a strong, MP only experience.

$6.99 too much :p

Tempting, but I'll hold out for a bit longer.

It really is worth the full price, I'm not sure why you'd hold out over 7 dollars.

And I'm saying this as someone who was pissed at first over paying 60 for a multiplayer only game until I played it as much as I have.

You're correct from an ethical perspective, but in reality Blue Point is a porting studio. They don't want to focus on patches snd DLC. That's why I think the 360 version will suffer. Hopefully I'm wrong.

I like this game. It's the first shooter I've played where my reckless yolo playstyle actually works. I don't think I've ever had a positive K/D ratio in any game, but here (counting pilots and titans) I'm killing more than I'm dying.

In the end, it doesn't matter, but one of the main goals of playing a game is to win.

That's another thing. Even if my team loses, it still feels like a victory if I'm able to successfully evac. lol

Fingers crossed for a patch this week, really need that loading time fix on PC and that fabled performance patch. Doubt we will see either til DLC time.

I'm a bit burned out at the moment with multiplayer as a whole, so the waiting game is no issue. Plus, it will be interesting to see how low it will go :)

I was having some crazy glitches last night on the xbone. The screen image was keeping every single word or image that occured during the course of the game. It happened for three games straight. I couldn't see jack! Crazy, that's the only glitch I've encountered so far. I ended up popping out the disc and rebooting the xbox. Worked fine after that.

Got my last gooser on the weekend. In gen 6 now. Feeling tired of the grind to complete the challenges. Rodeo kills, triple threat kills, and mag launcher kills. These are all titan kills. I think that I will be again in this gen for a while. Sigh.

P.S., played Capture the Flag with a Twitch broadcaster and his followers last night. It was the first time I really played that mode. It is so much fun and involves many strategies. Gotto find me some friends to play CTF with.

Getting in your titan with the flag is the only thing I dislike about CTF. Otherwise, it's a great mode.

Wait til you get to Gen 8's All I Do is Win challenge. Getting 100 wins is a real grind.

After playing the game for about 12 hours I'm amazed at how mediocre this game is. Everything is fine with the game itself, the controls feel smooth and the animations are great also the robot fights are kinda awesome as well. But while playing I just couldn't get rid of this mediocrity feeling throughout the 12 hours.

"The grind" sucks, but Look Out Below is what truly sucks in this world.

I know, I'm ranting about it in 2 conseecutive posts. But it's really that annoying, especially with the imprecise Titan drop mechanics and the AI's tendency to move in just the perfect way you don't want them to.

It really, REALLY makes you waste time / lose KDR / lose it for your team.
