Ah ok. Making sure because I was thinking, wasn't there already a remake? So they want a remake of a remake? I don't think we're at that point yet. Let them remake Ruby and Sapphire first then we can talk.
That's exactly what he/she is asking for. Another remake like FireRed. Not of FireRed.

Basically, yes. Some people believe we're getting Fire Red and Leaf Green remakes to commemorate the franchise's 20th anniversary, which will happen in two years (I think?).
I do believe Ruby and Sapphire remakes are far more likely, though.

I like that small thing they did last year that focused on just 3DS games. I'd rather they focus a "main" presentation with Wii U stuff, because that's the market they need to grow.
Likely what they'll do is have the broadcast be peppered with both of them, especially from the Treehouse.

You. We should be friends. I had completely forgotten about Fantasy Life and the Monolithsoft 3DS project until you brought them up! My hope has withered so thin by now, but an E3 announcement of any of those things (Harvest Moon, Fantasy Life, Monolith 3DS project) would make my year.
Take off Devil Survivor 2 because its not even out in Japan and we don't even know if its still alive. Most likely on hold what with Atlus going full out Persona this year.

Smash Bros is the only game Nintendo has announced that is coming out after E3. So it will probably get at least a few game announcements to fill out the rest of the year. Majora's Mask and maybe a localization (DQ7? Fantasy Life?) are the most likely candidates.
Also, the Monolith Soft 3DS game isn't a thing. Their main studio is all hands on X, and the Kyoto studio has worked on already-released 3DS games - Animal Crossing and Link Between Worlds. IIRC both of those came after the whole "Monolith Soft 3DS game" rumor.

It's certainly a weaker year than 2013 but 2014 isnt as dire as people make it out to be.

I'd say it's the perfect time. They have been making a lot of nods to the game for a while now, so they need to strike while the iron is still hot.
I'm expecting new games and localizations, but Nintendo will likely have a Direct two or three weeks before E3 centered on 3DS, so that E3 is focused almost entirely on WiiU, similar to how they did it last year.
I think we're getting Metroid 3DS and Advance Wars 3DS, and a few eShop titles.

Roflmao. There is no "Monolithsoft 3DS project".
So they hired all those people in their Kyoto studio for no good reason? I wouldn't be surprised if it's on hold given the urgency of getting X out and assisting Nintendo on other first-party titles, but I still believe it will come.

I'm hoping for something from Intelligent Systems. I think an Advance Wars 3DS would be a great eShop title for Nintendo, and I could see them going the DLC route on it as well. A new Fire Emblem seems a given at this point thanks to Awakening's sales, but I don't know if they'd announce it at E3.
That said, they're apparently working on some Wii U title, so I don't know if they have enough manpower to have a 3DS team going as well if they're also helping out with R&D stuff as usual.

Ok, so, every year we go through this. Every year between Feb-late May, everyone starts freaking out about the fact that we don't know what games are coming out, and "OMG [insert console name here] is DEAD this year because it has no games!!!" Every year E3 rolls around, and every year, there's plenty of games to play.
Calm down and wait 5 more weeks. The 3ds will have plent of new software this fall, as will the X1, Ps4, and Wii U.

I'm not expecting to see much for the G/Ultimate version (hands on), until TGS.

I'd love to see a small price drop on all 3 models to sort of give another boost to sales. Try and get that 2ds down to $99, get the 3ds under $150, and the 3ds XL away from the $199 price point.

I think Nintendo's gonna be more focused on rescuing the WiiU so I'd imagine 3DS's output will slowdown for a bit. My backlog on 3DS (and DS!) is daunting anyway so personally, I don't mind a slow-down on the handheld at all.

People would rage so hard if the next console Zelda game was another remake.
Personally, I would prefer to have the remake on the 3DS. 3DS games are cheaper... plus seeing Termina in 3D would be amazing.
Majora's Mask 3DS is looking more likely and likely. It's a beloved first-party game that can be made in very little development time, so it could be a big holiday 2014 title.
Mario 3D Land 2 is another possiblity, though I don't know if they really want to do another sequel. They should really do something new for a change.
