PICROSS E4 FUCK YES

FUCK YES PICROSS E4, YOU DID DETECT E, E2, AND E3 SAVES
Even further reason I wish the previous Picross E games would be on sale. Come on NOA, Japan got a 50% off sale, why couldn't you do the same?

Question regarding Tappingo... What are the controls like? Are the stylus and touch screen required or can the game be played using just the D-pad and buttons?
You can use d-pad & buttons during puzzles, but on the puzzle section screen, it's touch controls. I personally preferred buttons, especially when the puzzles got bigger, meaning the squares on the touchscreen got much smaller.

I really hope a sequel happens because while I did enjoy it, there was just a bunch of small things that held it back from being great (re-do button, the fact it doesn't tell you what the object you just made is meaning you're sometimes confuses as to what the picture is suppose to be, purple being a really bad color since it blends in with the background, bit more challenge, etc.).

fine, I'll be buying Stick blah blah

so gonna miss the deluxe digital promo when it's gone. That's gonna cut down on my indie game purchasing

Holy crap, I just remembered that I have another $5 on DDP thanks to NES Remix 2. That'll go towards getting more Mega Man GB titles on the VC.

It's an absolute shame the DDP doesn't apply to 3DS. I've been buying so many titles on that compared to the Wii U. Heck, the last $5 I got was last year, & that was only because I won a code for MH3U & it counted towards the promo.

It's nice that E4 has 3 screen worth of Mega Picross puzzles which are my favorite. It also has the regular puzzles and some Micross.

I got the bonus puzzles for having the 3 previous versions. Not sure what type they are yet.

Why are people talking about the Deluxe Digital Promotion ending? It runs through December 2014, which is EIGHT MONTHS AWAY!

The end is in sight. Hope they extend it further, though. Otherwise, will be buying a lot of games on the To Buy list by the end of the year. :lol

I got my Wii U around this time last year and I thought "woah that's a long time until this promo ends"

Now we're less than a year in and it feels like it's going to end tomorrow.

I got my money out of the DDP. I wish they extended it.

If they had it for the 3DS though...I would have gotten a ton of money back last year. Almost my entire entertainment budget last year went into 3DS games.

NES pixels are rectangles, so NES games are stretched a bit horizontally and antialiased. They actually run at native vertical resolution on 3DS, though.

I think some (or all?) actually run at higher than native vertical resolution, but rather than stretching they show the rest of the tiles that would've been cut off at native resolution. For example, Super Mario Bros running at native 256x224 has 1.5 ground tiles visible at the bottom of the screen, while the 3DS VC version running at 284(stretched from 256)x240 shows an entire two ground tiles thus filling the screen vertically. Comparatively, 3D Classics Kirby and Kid Icarus have borders on the top and bottom restricting the game window to their native 256x224 pixels.

240 is native vertical resolution on NES. It was always being rendered, it was just cut off by your TV. Any games with borders had them on NES, too.

Oh alright, I guess I'll just suck it up and get Punch Out eventually. I never beat it on the Wii VC and having it on the go sounds pretty good.

Gargoyle Quest beaten, now I can enjoy my other downloads without backlog regret. Kinda a rip for such a short game for 4 dollars, but it was pretty good. Save states kinda break the game, but it was good.

Yeah, Gargoyle's Quest is pretty short (and easily beaten with save states, though what isn't?), but it's kind of a marvel in that it's a game released really early on the the Game Boy's lifespan that manages to not have that weird sort of jankiness present in most early GB platformers.

Still hoping we'll see the sequels, considering Japan got Gargoyle's Quest 2 (NES) on their 3DS eShop. I know GQ2 got rated on the Australian Classification Board, so it's just a matter of waiting for it to actually come out in the US.

Sucks we never got the SNES game on the Wii VC. A lot of good stuff came out, but a lot of disappoint too. I dunno why but I got a feeling it's cause the VC didn't get a lot of purchases. I bought a lot though.

I would honestly have a hard time believing the VC didn't get a lot of purchases.

Is it a holiday in Germany today? I know it's one in the UK but unsure if it is in Germany and thus if we'll get a PR today.

Ok, so it's likely that all NOE branches except Nintendo UK will send a PR out.

I'll keep my eye out :)

Edit: Oops, apologies for the double post

quiet month (for the first time) for the Japanese eshop.

Bought all the Picross E games (50% for the e, e2 and e3), Denpa Man 3 (50% at 500 yens which is 3,50 euros when in Europe, it's 10) and finally, Mario golf Worl tour.

I've owned the system since September 2011 and Cave Story + is the only game I've played and beaten in 3D. The game looks that good this way.

Within a discussion on another forum, I decided to list all first party NES, SNES & GBA titles that we don't have in Europe and it's a rather startling low amount. I've bolded ones that are likely/probable and listed potential reasons why we won't get others. It's somewhat interesting.

Joe, is there a significant hold-up with SMRPG? I got it as a VC reward for Wii and was hoping it would be upgradeable soon enough.

No idea. I can imagine there's potentially something to do with Square since they developed it. Just have to be patient and hope they make a SNES Remix and decide they need it in there
