RIDE ALL THE TRAINS

Btw, Hot Coldman mentioning Wario Land isn't that weird; when was the last time he had a game of his own on a handheld? Wario Ware Do it Yourself?

Yep, think that's the one. Last handheld Wario platformer was Master of Disguise.

Next Level are masters of expressive cartoon animation; Wario Land would be a perfect fit. Games like Metroid or Eternal Darkness aren't exactly the first projects that would come to mind when I consider their past efforts (Strikers, Punch-Out, Luigi).

I'd love a new Excite-truck with online leaderboards and multiplayer (didn't like Excite-bots).
Its been awhile since Monster Games released a racing game.

More than a month away!!!!

God, if at least MK8 was like, on april 15th, it could be easier to wait....
Yes, but less than a week until Nintendo's Fiscal Year Earnings Release (FY 2013) and connected investor presentation. That's like pre-pre-E3.

I don't think Nintendo has ever leaked anything in an earnings release or investor presentation, but there is usually some very interesting information. The most recent investor presentation in conjunction with the Third Quarter Financial Results Briefing (FY 2013) featured information on QOL as well as their continued strategy with the Wii U GamePad: http://www.nintendo.co.jp/ir/en/library/events/140130/index.html

The Fiscal Year Earnings Release (for the whole FY 2013) will happen on May 7 with investor presentation the day after. As it concerns the whole fiscal year I except a lot of interestings comments on performance as well as forward looking statements and guidance for FY 2014 (which started April 1). There will probably be more information on QOL and additional details on their plans for E3.

That's a very interesting information, thank you for that! Lets hope they will reveal more about how they handle E3!

I want:

- Zelda U in all its glory.
- New IP or 3rd person Metroid from Retro.
- X full reveal, full title, release date etc.
- Kid Icarus U.
- Fire Emblem U.
- GC & Wii HD series, starting with Galaxy 1 & 2.
- Bayonetta 2 release date.
- interesting new games for 3DS, no idea what though.

I expect:

- Zelda U teaser.
- new X trailer.
- lots of Smash.
- crappy Indie games no one cares about.

Indie games are one of the few things Nintendo still has going for them.

Nintendo you motherfuckeeeeeeers I just realiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiized

you're gonna spend 20 goddamn minutes of your Digital Event on new sports for Wii Sports Club, aren't 'cha?

/s
but not really

It's past time
PUT ME ON THAT TRAIN
Zelda will happen

0. Case: Only new games are eShop titles and a 2D Platformer, no Zelda U, just announced stuff= End up VERY disappointed

1. Case: The announced stuff + Zelda U (I don't like the direction) = End up disappointed

2. Case: announced stuff + Zelda U (I like the direction) = End up slightly satisfied

3. Case: announced stuff+ Zelda U + 3D Metroid for Wii U = Satisfied

4. Case: announced stuff + Zelda U + 3D Metroid + new IP( I like) + F-Zero = Fully satisfied, Nintendo rocks!

5. Case: announced stuff+ Zelda U+ 3D Metroid + new IP² + F-Zero + Starfox+ big surprise = MINDBLOW Nintendo destroyed everything!!

That would be my reaction to E3.

Hopefully it will be a great discussion thread for everything around Nintendo E3 2014!

We know they'll discuss announced stuff and can pretty safely say Zelda will make an appearance, right? If they announce anything new, at this point, I'd be pretty excited. New Metroid would be the top of my list, either 3DS or Wii U, then a new IP (please...), then SNES Remix, then Starfox, then F Zero...

I'm really worried it's just going to be Smash Bros and not much else... but I'm hoping it's Case 5!

I know. For me, while Indie games can be a nice snack, I prefer full meals. ;-)

I've gotten more out of a lot of recent indie titles then most AAA games these days, though to be fair that doesn't apply to Nintendo games as much as others. I stopped treating indie games as "snacks" a long time ago.

What's left to release that we've already seen? Smash, Hyrule Warriors, Bayonetta 2, X and Yarn Yoshi? Unless I am forgetting a bunch, that's nothing. Nintendo should be dropping bombs left and right at E3 in order to fill out the rest of the 2014, especially on 3DS. My guesses:

-They'll show Zelda Wii U, holiday 2015 release.
-Animal Crossing on Wii U. May interact with the 3DS version somehow.
-New side-scrolling Metroid game for 3DS.
-Mario 3D Land sequel
-Majora's Mask 3D
-They'll show Fire Emblem x SMT
-They'll announce Mario Galaxy 3, but show very little, if anything. Also announce Mario Galaxy 1 + 2 HD for holiday 2014.
-Something Pokemon for Wii U. Maybe a fighting game?

And then a few completely unexpected things like usual.

Source/Aquamarine?

Iwata's Potential Election to the Board of Directors

Thursday, June 26th, 2014

I guess Next Level might have a game to show. According to an interview back in January, they're a two team studio. Several of their artists and art directors didn't work on Luigi's Mansion and haven't released a game since 2011 for example. Going by that interview, their current projects are apparently also based on existing Nintendo IPs, but they said that they were getting bigger and bigger IPs to work with, so... Metroid, maybe?

Can you link me to this interview? I remember reading somewhat recently that they said they're about 70ish people (Retro is similar)... Sounds a bit small for two teams, unless they are smaller projects. As for Monster... Them working a bit with Retro on TF points to a possible new 3DS entry I'm thinking. Probably too early for that though this year.

More a case of perfectionism. They'd have to do a considerable amount of reworking in order to get some of their Wii/Gamecube games into a state where they're happy to release at full price.

Well, they sure achieved perfection within 6 months, when it comes to WW. I am sure they could do just fine within this time frame.

Btw, I had a bad dream.A couple of the e3 games are the remaining Wii Sports Club games.....

edit:Aquamarine, thanx for the timetables..:)

So what can we expect from the Investor Presentation? I imagine they will say a bit about what they will show at E3 like "We will reveal the next entry in the Legend of Zelda franchise" just to let their investors know that content is coming.

How will Nintendo handle the E3 Digital Event?
I imagine it'll be a typical direct interspersed with footage from the E3 show floor to make you feel like you're there and to reinforce that Nintendo actually IS at E3.

Don't think this is true, since the Digital Event is before the show floor opens and is most likely pre-recorded.

Don't expect much of anything about E3. This is where I expect them to elaborate on what their "Quality of Life" product is, since they took up a decent portion of their last investors meeting telling them that they'd reveal it at a later time.

They already said, that they're mainly banking on Mario Kart and Smash, though. Zelda's 2015 is still too far away I think. They also said QoL will be detailed in fall IIRC.

Don't they always give some details about E3 at their investor meetings before E3?

I didn't realize we were doing Hype Trains so early this year. If it wouldn't be too much trouble could someone add me to whatever one will be the main one? Please, and thank you.

Duh, but previously they've mentioned their plans at investor meetings before.

Right. They'll say they have exciting titles to announce (already done, actually). And maybe say they'll reveal the next installment in their popular Zelda series.
Outside of that, I wouldn't expect anything.

That's all I'm saying, confirmation on a few things that they've mentioned in the past that they would show at E3 so that doubt is put away.

I also expect Nintendo to mention GameCube games on the WiiU. Starting with Luigi's Mansion, F-Zero GX, and SSB Melee.

I don't expect that to happen. It may make more sense for Nintendo to just select a few HD ports to do so they can quickly and cheaply fill in their software schedule. Anyway, speaking of the virtual console, Iwata said that DS titles would be coming out for Wii U's VC during his financial report speech in January.
