Yeah, DSFix is pretty much required if you don't want the game to look like absolute shit.
It looks fine now yeah, and with 30fps. Am I supposed to hit 60fps in this one?

How did you guys map up the controls for your Xbox 360 controller? attack/shielding on the shoulder buttons or face buttons?

I just went with the default controls. It was weird transitioning from Demon's (Dualshock, obv) to Dark (360 controller) but now I bet if I went back I would feel the opposite.

I can't imagine putting the attacking or guard on the face buttons!

When I wake up, I'm gonna make it the goal of today, to make either of my Dual Shock 3 or 4 to work with my bluetooth device and computer.

Did Steam ever fix Big Picture Mode so you can set it to use a secondary display instead of your primary one, or do you still have to switch your primary display to be your tv?

There's a setting to tell it to automatically switch your second display to primary when you enter BPM and back when you leave. However, unless they very recently added it, it won't change your audio adapter which I find very annoying because once I'm in BPM it's difficult to change manually.

That's a Windows setting, isn't it?

On releases, as a heads-up DreadOut releases tomorrow. The devs have been very active with early players getting feedback on opinions, glitches, and the like and have been rapidly releasing fixes for found bugs and have decided to make Act 2 of the story free for everyone who downloads the game as a future update.

Hoping the game does well, what they've done with the low budget of $26k is rather impressive, and I think those who like survival-horror games from the late 90s and early 2000s will like the game a lot. Act 1 is short (3-5 hours long the first time, can beat in 60 minutes if you know what you're doing and skip out on all the optional content), but well executed, and again Act 2 will be releasing freely for all who purchase the game.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
Just finished The Walking Dead Season 2: Episode 3. Every episode just keeps getting better than the last, really glad I picked this up.

Yeah, I played the whole game zoomed out but I asked Ziophaelin (one of the devs) about it a while ago about why that wasn't just the default, and he said that they regretted even having zooming out as an option. They meant for the game to be played zoomed in and consider zooming out to be a crutch.

And is act2 the last? If so that's good

a crutch in that it makes it easier maybe? I just think I'd be harder in a bad/frustrating way if you got killed by something you couldn't see ahead

zooming in is still good for some details on being careful but that should be the option instead of out IMO

It is, it's made as a 2-Act game according to the developers, and the store page.

There will be one piece of paid DLC though, in Free Roam Mode. Not a lot of details on Free Roam yet, except it's kind of a survival-mode and there will be ghosts exclusive to Free Roam (including the ghosts versions of Indiegogo who paid for a higher tier backers).

I agree that the zoomed out perspective prevents frustration deaths from dangers coming off-screen and personally don't see any downsides to keeping it zoomed out the entire time, but yeah the devs intended for the game to be played with the default zoomed in view exclusively and only included the option to zoom out because play testers complained about stuff coming from off-screen.

I could see that, enemies are at times just completely helpless to getting a spear in the face with the added vision. I played through it zoomed out as well, I just didn't see the point not to.

We meant for zooming out to be a way to take a look ahead when you felt like you needed to, but not play that way the whole time.

Reason being we liked the action more intimate and up close, but felt that players may need to look ahead sometimes or want to "peak" so to speak. We carefully designed the game with audio warnings and with timing that it is very possible to react in time to anything tossed at you with the zoomed in cam.

The reason, very honestly, that we didn't want to initially leave it so that players could play in zoomed out mode all the time was that weird things became apparent. Such as enemies standing around inactive and potential performance problems on older machines we hoped would still play the game. We also didn't think it would really be something people actually cared that much about.

The ProJared vid where he wanted it was really the tipping point, we were already debating it before and after the game's release (keeping a close eye on how everyone played it). We figured, well hell... if people are having fun and don't mind those things I personally thought would be issues potentially then why not let people play that way?

Taron and I think about and often about minute details, because we really do want to provide particularly crafted experiences. At the same time we want players to be able to play the way they feel they should be able to play (with in the game's context) with fully customizable control options and feature set for their personal enjoyment and comfort.

I prefer to play the game zoomed in, BUT I can see why people really enjoy the other option. Especially on large TVs/Monitors, etc. It also does tend to make things a tiny bit less stressful! :D

I would buy it again on 3DS.

We meant for zooming out to be a way to take a look ahead when you felt like you needed to, but not play that way the whole time.

I play the majority of the game with the intended view as I believe it feels like a better experience that way and brings back Mega Drive memories from my youth, but I do prefer having more control over the experience and zooming in and out as I please is wonderful.
As before you changed it, or with Toggle off now, it always distracted me when it automatically zoomed back in even though I would do that manual anyroad, and that's no good for when I'm really into a game. So thank you for the option.

It may be possible to fix if you do the "replace your bluetooth driver with the SCP DS3 driver" method, but I can't vouch for that on windows 7 (it works great on windows 8.1).

I finally was able to successfully pair it now without it disappearing thanks to that link. I can control the interface of big picture mode, but when I launch a game none of the buttons work. Wish Sony could just make official drivers. Even if I did got this working, it's not ideal for a living room setup having to mess around with getting it connected. I have the razr wired 360 controller which works perfectly fine, but I need a wireless solution. Can't the steam controller come out already and hopefully not suck...

Now that it's possible to selectively disable DLC, I can finally buy Japan's LV version of DMC's Vergil's Downfall DLC without needing to worry about it potentially ruining the game should I decide to play it at some point.

I just did like 5 of the Playfire achievements for Rush Bros., don't get the hate the game's been getting on GAF. Maybe because the achievements are actually decently challenging? Game's pretty fun in my opinion.

Steam controller is looking pretty good. Valve has continued to improve the design over the last year.

I'll probably opt for one over the X1 controller if MS has still yet to release official drivers... which is looking increasingly likely.

I will personally vouch for the Wii U Pro Controller. It's very very good and has ridiculous battery life.

cons: digital triggers.

As a Halo fantard i feel is Halo: Spartan Assault is good for the $2.50 i got it for. Some stuff i would improve are

  • Add dodge to the A button
  • Add local and online co-op like the Xbox version
  • Add impact to the melee system
  • Make pistol shoot faster
  • Add a firefight mode .
Then again its a cheap game.

Well shit I've just had my first real problem with Steam where they have deactivated my Dark Souls 2 CD key 10 days after I bought it.

I got it from simplycdkeys so it shouldn't be a problem getting another one (hopefully) but I'm pretty pissed that Steam thinks it's OK to deny me access to something I bought legally while the two companies involved sort their shit out - or more to the point make me do it for them.

Oh and before anyone says simplycdkeys is a shifty key site they are part of simply games who are a well known and fairly big UK retailer, which is where I'm from too, so that isn't the issue and my account has almost 300 games that have all been bought from Steam, simplycdkey, retail and greenmangaming so there is nothing out of place with that either.

Anyone had anything like this happen before? My main concern is losing the build I spent 19 hours on over the last 10 days putting together.

Here's the message I got btw: "Your recent Product code activation has been revoked due to a problem processing payment for this item. The games associated with this product code can no longer be played as a result. This could be due a problem with the payment methods you used to acquire this item from a third-party seller; or a problem with how the third-party seller acquired the Product code. Assholes! :(

Paid via PayPal who I called last night and they confirmed payment completed fine.

So long as you don't use bluetooth for anything but your dualshock controllers, go install this:

http://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-XInput-Wrapper-for-DS3-and-Play-com-USB-Dual-DS2-Controller

Otherwise, you can use x360ce on a game by game basis to try to get things to work.
