It really annoyed me in Mario Kart 7. I wanted a certain type of tire, but I never got them because I beat all the cups (3 stars) and then haven't touched it since then. I would much rather there just be an in-game shop where you can purchase parts/vehicles with coins - that'd be so much more addicting to me.

Oh, I totally agree with the shop idea; that would be way better (just make it like Mario Golf World Tour's). I just mean, if we're stuck with the 50 coins method, I'm glad it's random and they don't just save all the good stuff for the end.

Jaggies exist in 3DW, the game in motion removes the perception of it.

Question: When collecting coins to unlock parts, does it only give you the coins you finish the race with or does it count every coin you pick up during the race? If it's the former that means we can only receive a max of 40 coins per GP, which would be a bit of bummer.

In Mario Kart 7 it was the total amount earned every race, with a max of 40 for each cup.

I would imagine it being the same for Mario Kart 8.

I liked that feature.

I haven't found any such feature in the game. MK8 doesn't even have the MK7 profile channel type setting. This *could* come as part of that secondary app they have discussed for mobile devices, perhaps. Only record listing I have noticed is the head-to-head record you can view on an individual from your friends list or recent opponents.

On a unrelated note: I played against Andre from GameXplain tonight in a few online matches. He is a pretty skilled racer.

Yeah, and since there isn't communities in this game, we'll need to add each other for MK8.

There are tournaments though, which seem to function very similarly. If someone on GAF sets up a daily tournament, I don't think you need to be friends with other participants. I don't know if you can make tournaments never end though.

There seem to be quite a few options, moreso than in other areas of the game. I doubt it will be that much of a hassle setting up games.

I would assume to do something similar to this you just set it to "Daily" and then from like x time of morning to x time of night. There would probably be some interval where the tournament *couldn't* be open but that wouldn't be a big deal if it was for only an hour of any given day.

I will ! My GameStop isn't that far away (about a mile walk) and even if I don't plan on getting a Wii U, this game does look quite awesome . Really smart of Nintendo to do this; the game is complete, so instead of just sitting on it until it officially launches, about you put demos of the game in Wii U GameStop's to attract some new buyers .
