Halfway through Über so far.

I think I've been playing for about 10 hours. Maybe longer.

As someone who is bound to the embargo atm, I kinda wish the same. There's some stuff I'd like to share but now I have to wait till release day. I'm actually surprised at the release day embargo, usually means said game isn't that good...

Also, just something I should be able to share...

The AI in that one video is not a good representation of the game. Sure, I'm playing on über but if a game really had bad AI, I'd notice it on that difficulty as well. But no problems there...

Off-topic, been playing through RAGE right now to test if my laptop will be ok for Wolfy. Performs like 45-55 on my meh laptop which is very good. Man, how I did miss such an excellent shooter back in 2011?! The guns, the feedback, the death animations! It's quite an easy game on the hardest difficulty (Ultra Nightmare) so can't wait for Uber on Wolfy TNO.

I've just played it for about 3-4 hours. I wasn't expecting much, yet I got a game roughly as good as Metro Last Light with which it shares many similarities (that's a good thing). It's a pleasant surprise for me, but not a game that'll stay in my memory too long. It's all pretty basic shooter fare, but I have to say I'm surprised at how much I like the characters and I'm actually interested in where the story goes. PS4 version has a solid framerate (seems 60-ish or at least close to it), but the textures are pretty rough, it's not gonna win any graphical awards that's for sure. The stealth is broken, plain and simple, but it doesn't matter, it's broken in a fun way. You can walk up to enemies and they will not see you, thus derpiness ensues. I've killed many a Nazi in front of his Nazi buddy and he just doesn't notice (or care?).

All in all I'm having fun with it, but again: don't go into this expecting more than a solid shooter, it's not. Solid 7-8 game I'd say. Also I'm now in chapter 6 out of 16 (if I recall correctly) so it seems to be a decent length.

Thanks for the impressions. Is the gunplay as good as the videos made it seem? If so, you make it sound like that aspect doesn't manage to make up for other shortcomings? I ask this because you seem just mildly amused and I was personally hoping for just a bit more out of this game in the sense of getting the first great fucking shooter in quite a while.

Ultra nightmare was soooo easy in Rage. I rushed through it and it took me a little under 8 hours (I think just did the main quest, no side quests or anything).

PC Gamers Evan Lahti mentioned that New Orders shooting mechanics don't stack up to the Raven's Wolfenstein (2009). To be fair, those are some pretty big shoes to fill.

Looking around the minimum PC spec for this game seems to mention a i7, anyone heard if this is accurate or is that a "it will run best on this but will run on a lower processor" thing? Seeign some mentions in other places but never a confirmation or anyone saying "yeah should be fine"

Got a good enough gfx card but only a i5 processor here, seems a bit overkill to have your min specs at top range

I7 minimum is ridiculous. That said, the game looks gorgeous on Xbox One. If you want to run it on PC at High Settings, you'll need some killer specs.

Yeah. I really enjoyed Rage despite it's faults. I'd love to see another team take a shot at an open world FPS like that with more polish and an actual conclusion to the story.

Oh I accept that, until I build my next PC i won't be playing any of the now current gen games at high settings at all, even then it might struggle (kinda want the next gen of nvidia gfx and intel cpus to come out before I build a new PC)

But i prefer my shooters on PC so was looking at this and saw the i7 minimum which kinda made me think it can't be right since it also runs on the 360/ps3

From what I can tell, if you align your expectations that this is a cross gen game, then I think it looks fine for what it is.

It's hard to word that without just sounding like I have low standards or something, but I guess there's just not much point to expect more than what is reasonable and be disappointed.

Just curious, what internet speeds do you all have at home? I recently "upgraded" to 30 down, so I'm not that worried about how long the download will take. If I can start it before I leave for work Tuesday morning, it will definitely be there by the time I get home.

I used to have 15 down (which hardly ever was actually that fast) and then I'd be a little more worried.

I'm more concerned with how much space it will take up on my PS4's hard drive.

I doubt the i7 means much. I don't think this game is doing anything where you would need all 8 threads.

If it's as pretty as Rage, then I'd say it's a looker - and from what I've seen it's prettier than Rage. Some people just lose their shit when they see low-res textures.
