It will likely look even better than it does now by a good margin. It is running on actual Dev kits there is no PC superior version.

let's just say i'll believe it when i see it

Ryse was a launch game on XB1. Some people really don't think the graphics in QB will look as good as what's been shown here? Come on, man...

graphics aren't most impressive but i like the concepts going on. Interested to see more of the game. Shame about the delay, thought it was gonna drop this year along with sunset.

A game without an previous release date has been delayed, and now got downgraded because the gameplay sections looks worse than cutscenes.

lol word. I fully expect the game to look gorgeous, especially since it's exclusive. Keep em coming Microsoft. The trolls are out lol

That looks pretty dang different to me man

In your personal opinion, how much of a downgrade do you think we can expect from that screaming woman footage in the final game?

I know it's probably hard to quantify, but what would take a hit in your opinion? The various particle effects? The way the glass reacts to the main character? Textures? Lighting? Or pretty much everything?

Feel free to PM me your thoughts if you'd rather not share publicly.

Personally, I think Second Son looks better than this, and the Order is on a whole other level- but that's not a big deal. This game looks absolutely bananas in the mechanics, gameplay, and narrative aspect. A system seller.

When you take into consideration it is an open world game then definitely Second Son is more impressive than Quantum break. For the same reason Second Son in my eyes is more impressive than The Order.

Hype Train conductor. Works harder than it steams.
Has and still is the only reason to get a Xone, hope MS gives it the attention and marketing it needs to be successful, looks fantastic

there shouldn't be much of a downgrade if at all imo

"whole other level"? Seriously? QB is quite comparable to The Order, I think. I don't get how you see this giant leap in visual quality between the two... I could see you preferring The Order and finding it better looking (although I don't know if I could agree), but don't see "whole other level" of differences. This is the stuff I was talking about here:

Anyone saying any of best-looking games (QB, The Order, Infamous, Ryse, etc.) shown off for the next generation systems (XB1/PS4) are "leaps" better than any other best-looking game is probably a fanboy. Or delusional. Or is using the word incorrectly. "Leaps" to me implies generational type jumps...

And I personally think QB looks better than Infamous (although ISS is a phenomenal-looking game). I do think ISS could be considered technically more impressive due to its open-world components (although we don't know much about QB's world size/scope to really judge that yet). But for just straight visual clarity, I think QB is better looking. Or at least, on par (but not worse). I wouldn't fault you for finding ISS to be a more technically-impressive game (especially if you're assuming QB is going to be more linear).

When you take into consideration it is an open world game then definitely Second Son is more impressive than Quantum break. For the same reason Second Son in my eyes is more impressive than The Order.

That train of thought only works with QB, though, right?

Of course they look different. You are comparing two really different areas/scenes. I just don't see any downgrade here.

If you must compare, then compare portions of this clip to the ones shown at VGX.
Hard to say since there is really no gameplay being shown . Definatelyv doesn't look cgi like initial reveal did , though . I think most here are skeptical , since other than ryse , most xb1 exclusives have looked like they were based on 360 development , with slightly higher resolution

Did you even read my post? I said Infamous Second Son is more impressive to me than both QB and The Order. Gee, some people.

yeah, no. Dead Rising 3 couldn't have been done on the 360, at least not with the density, no loading and lighting it currently has.

There was a slight gameplay. The part where he was pushing through some debris.
Anyway, my point is, those are different scenes. Comparison, and drawing any downgrade conclusion is quite silly.

I think you misinterpreted my point. I'm pointing out something that you were initially getting at (indirectly, though): that ISS can be considered more impressive than QB because of its open-world components, but ISS isn't considered more impressive than The Order (the open-world components are ignored here?).

It was just a silly point, and wasn't meant to be a big thing. More was just poking fun at Thuway's post. I actually agreed with your premise.

Well I've been having visual debates since super street fighter for SNES, GENESIS

Yea, it's been going on since the first console wars (BLAST PROCESSING!). I think it's just super intense now because we're still so fresh into the generation. I think (or I hope?) it'll cool off once we start seeing games designed to push the limits of both systems (anyone thinking they're being pushed to their limits now is fooling themselves).

I'm probably too old :(

:( same.

To change subject in here. Do you guys think it would start off on that epic bridge seen. I love openers like that. Start you right off in the action UC2 style

Can someone gif both of the scenes?

The density and quality of all the frozen objects looks like it's much higher quality. The lighting also seems to be a lot better.

itd be a bit of a pointless comparison to make. the scene in the earlier trailer was set in an enclosed office looking environment where some sort explosion had been set off. any desks, tables, and things of that sort would naturally produce a lot of frozen shrapnel. there isnt much to compare it with in this trailer, except maybe the second or two where the protagonist is hanging upside down from some railing? you can see quite a lot there. otherwise the time distortion effects are obscuring a lot of the frames in this video. i dont know about lighting. i think it looks comparable.

Well hopefully it sells, I felt bad for Remedy with Alan Wake because it got no love so much that they started giving it away with every console and eventually releasing it on PC. Please Xbox fans, buy it.

The concept of freezing time is as old as videogames themselves and yet I don't think it has ever been done in 3d yet, which is surprising, considering we've seen something like this in movies and commercials (the famous one by Philps where the camera flies through a frozen crime scene with people and bullets in mid air and whatnot) for a while and it's Remedy's own bullet time's natural evolution if you think about it. It just surprises it took so long to inspire a videogame, or at least that it hasn't been done to this effect yet afaik.

This is assuming it doesn't just happens at fixed times but can be controlled by the player.

What makes it special here is the fact it seems that stuff frozen in mid air still retains some physics the main character can interact with which could open up incredible gameplay mechanics.

Huge potential here.

Sorry for the disparaging 'some people...' comment, dude. Too many defensive fanboys (on both sides) sometimes affects my sarcasm detector.

As long as it does not release the same day as a Rockstar game it's good.

Not only that, but the mechanic seems to be limited by the fact that the frozen state can collapse. Could be brilliant if pulled off correctly.

I think this looks better than The Order, Ryse - all that. You guys can try to crucify me, that's fine there's nothing wrong with that. I just haven't been blown away by a console game like I have with QB. Everything from the atmosphere to the environment looks incredible. Let's see how they implement the time control mechanics, that's what will really make the game.

But it didn't look like a generational leap. It also ran like a bag of frozen assholes.

Fun game, but please don't act like it was a powerhouse in either looks or performance.

I think it looked a generational leap compared to DR1 and DR2. You have to factor in stuff like lighting, scale, reflections, shadows, number of zombies on screen, etc.

Add that together and you have a game that's a generational leap compared to previous titles.

I'd also have to disagree strongly that it ran like a bag of frozen assholes. For what the game was attempting, it ran very well. There were instances where the frame-rate would drop, but those were exception and not the norm.

It really did. Not a huge one, but you know it couldn't have been done on the 360. The amount of zombies on screen at one is crazy and they all put off their own shadows. It's not a graphically stunning or anything, but it's a leap. I will say that it did stutter occasionally during big explosions, but they fixed all of that, I think.

Forgot about this. I had the original demo from the Xbox Magazine and I remember it playing pretty different from the final copy. Had a lot of fun with it, though.
