I always find it amusing that the games that gamers consider to be embarrassing are the ones with some sort of sexual theme to them (or sometimes awkward dialogue). But never games that are hyper violent. Even though the hyper violent games are the ones that the general public tends to take issue with.

That's because the violent ones have stories about them, the sexual theme ones don't.

Some games just shouldn't have voice acting at all.

Conception II; imagine this scenario if you will:

Casual acquaintance: "Oh hey I love games. what's that game you're playing on your gameboy?"

You: "It's a Vita actually, and the game is Conception II."

Them: "Never heard of it. What's it about"

You; "I'm God's Gift and I attend a special high school where I make star children with my female classmates after going dates with them and building up our bonds, and we all fight demons and stuff that come from these holes"

and they see this on your screen:

Catherine has been listed several times even though it has a better story than most games out there. So, that's definitely not the reason. I remember that Atlus made a secondary cover for the game that was a zoom in on the characters faces because some complained that it'd be too embarrassing to buy the game with its normal cover.

The Darkness and my mum. The ripping hearts out was almost a step too far in her eyes and she just walked in when the main character was tortured and says "fuck you, you cunt" or words to that effect.

Highly embarrassing. Man I loved that game.

Any game with extreme violence/gore or lots of awkward sexual stuff.

So...Bayonetta is probably the best answer from what I've played. Hell, I'd cringe to that even when nobody else is around.

Any fantasy RPG seems to be super awkward around 'the general public', esp. when it has its own lexicon and cheesy-ass voice acting. Shit sounds incredibly stupid when context is missing, and sometimes it feels like I have to explain lore for days when friends ask what's going on. Never got that sort of reaction with KOTOR or Mass Effect, though.

For a totally different kind of awkward I am going to go with Dance Central. Especially as a fat white dude.

Is that Morrigan's daughter/cousin/sister/alter ego?

well it is her sister, well technically she is a part of her. something about Jedah giving her her form so she can bring Morrigan to her or something.. I'm fine with Morrigan and Felicia or Hsien-ko, since all 3 of them are in Marvel 3, but Lilith...she feels akward playing as or fighting against. Oh and i have no qualms with B.B. Hood since she is crazy and not ment to be sexualized. plus she was one my favorites in Marvel 2

Her design looks alright, like a less sexy Morrigan. What's so awkward about fighting her? Does she moans a lot or something?

Can't blame you, considering how she was clearly designed for the more lolicon-oriented who think Morrigan looks too old.

Also, that Nights scene...good lord.

I remember my parents coming into the room at the precise moment I finished Duke Nukem 3D, when you hear Duke's lady friend having an over the top orgasm.

Is that any good? I played the demo for a bit but it was too long winded so I stopped.

God of War III's sex scene lol. Sooooo awkward, even for me cuz I didn't realise it was there. Obviously I enjoyed the hell out of it though.

Oh, and to contribute to the thread, I always nervously looked around me when certain scenes of Saya no Uta rolled around. I kept trying to get through them as quickly as possible to get back to the horror, but even that wasn't so great. I felt tricked afterwards.

Haha.

Paca Plus. It's a dating sim in which your girlfriend suddenly turns into an alpaca after visiting an alpaca farm. It unfortunately suffers from a pretty poor translation, which I feel does a real disservice to the source material.
Here's the opening cinematic.

Uh, she is just an akward character in general. She is a succubus, but she looks like a kid. need i say more? everytime she is on screen, i feel akward. If i were an executive at Capcom, i'd would have scrapped her in favor or something less akward like a Men in Black member or something. *preferably a member that looks like Will Smith*

Any god of war game
gta4 the club mission is just sad and painful alone let alone if anyone is watching

I wouldn't mind bayonetta tbh, yes it's over the top caricature sexualised but the gameplay is awesome and looks like fun.

I can't recall exactly what happened, but I distinctly remember my Mum walking in on me playing Indigo Prophecy on PC and thinking I was playing a sex simulator or something. After she left (ran) out of the room I sat there shaking my head in stunned disbelief thinking if she'd walked in 2 minutes earlier or later she'd have seen a run of the mill supernatural thriller.

Had a similar thing happen in Mass a Effect 3 with a girlfriend seeing inter species lesbian sex. Though given I spent 3 games and countless hours orchestrating that very dalliance I can't really call that scenario an innocent accident.

I only played the demo, too, so I couldn't tell you. I wasn't very impressed with the demo though. It actually kinda creeped me out due to the lolis and shameless sexual implications, but I understand how someone wanting more Persona could enjoy this.
