The jack-off equation scene is easily the funniest scene I've ever seen on television. I was laughing so hard I was in tears.

I had to rewatch the jerk off equation scene after the episode, just an incredibly funny scene. I've liked the show a fair bit this season but if we could get more stuff as great as that scene next season this show could be something special.

D2F lol best episode yet. Finally on board with this show. The whole Urlich jerking off everyone discussion was epic.

That jack off argument is probably one of the bed things I've seen on tv comedy wise in awhile. Hilarious

I really want to see this show progress to where these guys are rich. I wanna see what Erlrich will do with money lmao

great season. i hope they don't cancel the show like they did hello ladies :(
Hello ladies wasn't cancelled. It's a Stephen merchant show. 1 and done. He's filming a special right now actually.

Great finale.

I'm curious to see what will they do with Peter Gregory next season.

They have to recast him... I mean they can't have him always be somewhere else... at some point he has to step in for a scene or two..

Good finale. The jack off equation bit was great. The show never evolved into something consistently laugh out loud funny, but things definitely improved from the mehtastic first half of the series.

I can see some HBO executives watching the fan reactions and going, "they don't like fart jokes, they consider them too low brow, but they do seem to respond very favourably to dick jokes, inform the writing staff."

That was hilarious. I love the show glad its getting a second season. My only question is how are they going to do expansion? So many extras and they'll need a fairly large space.

I don't mean to alarm you but you have dogs on your face
Well that was easily the funniest episode of the show thus far.

What a great finale. I love this show!!

"how long do you think it would take you to jack off every guy in this room? Because I know. And I can prove it."

Great episode but I couldn't help but wonder how Hooli could be entered into the competition. I thought it was supposed to be for startups? That really stuck out as odd to me. Other than that maybe one of the funniest scenes in a comedy ever.

They weren't in the competition. Belsin saw that Pied Piper was gonna compete, so he wanted to debut Nucleus during a keynote at the competition to undercut them.

Everything about the jerk off equation scene (or JOES) was just perfect television. Funny, and a slow build to relevance that just kept getting funnier.

But they left me unsatisfied. How long WOULD it take to jack off every guy in that room? What if there are ladies, would you need to modify the system for fingerbanging?

The jerk off calculation scene was a little clumsy but the idea was great. Neat way to sidestep the whole eureka moment without going into actual details. Erlich ambushing Gavin during the interview was probably my favourite part. The look of confusion and terror on Gavin as Erlich so try to throw shit on him was great.

It's kinda disappointing that the season basically left off where it started. They have crazy ground breaking tech (that smashes their old ground breaking tech) with no real application yet. I still like the season, but mostly for individual moments like the "piss to a shit fight" moment than the general plot. Hopefully next season is better in that regard and isn't focused around the will-they-wont-they garbage with Richard and the only other female character.

Series premiere and season finale were my favorite episodes. I'm pretty sure those are the only two episodes Mike Judge directed himself?

Do we know how much was filmed before his death though?

He died like after filming the episode right before the "self driving car" episode. If you know that going into it, it's pretty evident that he's missing. I heard Mike Judge interviewed on the Stern Show and he talked about him and how hard it was for everyone. To answer your question-there is nothing else he filmed for any additional episodes.

Funniest part of the dick scene was how you thought Ehrlich was going to flip on everyone about how dumb they are but he just casually slipped into the discussion in a very serious manner.

that scene alone was worth watching the entire season for.

Yeah, your right I don't know why I didn't see that. I re-watched it and right before the cut to the presentation Richard says, "We should go check out the competition," so that threw me off. I took it to mean the competition at the tech crunch.

The best episode of the season. I was dying at the dick jerk off scene. Mike Judge created an awesome show, I hope HBO supports it.

I really enjoyed this first season of Silicon Valley. The show started out a bit slow needing to find it's place. But after two or three episodes I started to feel it more and more and they kept improving each week. Good jokes, great characters and just a fun show to watch.
