2 girls no cup.
I would welcome him back, even if he's likely to suck and fail to recapture the success* with us too. Just fuck Bento and his whole posse.
* getting far in tournaments in our case
Who are the young players from each top team that we should expect to see as starters by the next World Cup ?
Alexandre Pato (São Paulo) - 24
No dry cleaners near your house observed!
so for next world cup America-GAF is gonna be having to get up at 2am to watch the games?
finally got to World Champion-ify my avatar! Any other GermanGAF member who wants the stars slapped on?
Yeah what happened to him? I remember in 2009/2010 he was supposed to be the next big thing. Dude was worth 35-40 mil € back then. Then he just disappeared.
Yes FedEx should dry clean it before they deliver it.
It literally just come in the mail (wadded up in my mailbox I might add).

It's nice but you're going to want the 4 star kit but until then, 3 star ghetto for you.
Wow. Classy. Have they done anything like this before? (building their own place before WC)
Nah, most Americans don't even know what the stars mean.
I bought it before the hype because I believed in them. I'm proud of that.

Every god damn year. Not just that but they give him the best overall rating in the game even though anyone who plays the game knows Ronaldo is better.
I think the best was germany's away jersey in 2010.
Hi WC-GAF, it's my first post in this thread since I was away following my team, Argentina, around Brazil and I'd like to share a few things:
Things
Yeah this one is great! Sis has this one. I really didn't like the away one this year so I got the home one before the cup started! :3
Still so happy at Germany winning!!!
I think the best was germany's away jersey in 2010.
Great jersey. I was so happy when Adidas decided to make a black kit for Mexico too. It doesn't make any sense considering our national colors but fuck it, I love it.
One last thing, I read how people always say argentinians are cocky, arrogant, hard to tolerate, even if I agree to some extent I could say the same about people from all nationalties when in large groups. I'm sorry if this offends anyone but brazilians are no different than we are or claimed to be.
People came to our games with the only intention of provoking us all the way to the final, they bought other teams jersey, painted their faces with other countries's flags, etc. I understand rotting for the other team but buying another team's jersey and celebrating as if you had won is a big NO in my book, specially when that other team beat yours in an incredible way. At least Adidas is happy with all the sales.
When Brazil lost to France in '98 we didn't go out to buy France shirt.
When I was in Germany, the people there understood when to stop and were respectful. But in Brazil my brother, sister and me were insulted, called "bad persons" for doing absolutely nothing, all while screaming Germany in our ears. Finally some guy working for some TV channel came to us when we were leaving and instead letting us go, he started poking us with the mic and singing about our defeat, sorry but fuck you. One thing is to have a german guy singing his heart out because he won and I can deal with it and another is to have someone acting all tough because he is on TV while being surrounded by 10 persons that would defend him and put the blame on you if you took action because you are a nobody. Call me whatever you like but my experience there was not the best.
It's difficult to predict. But here in Brazil all the media are trying now to point the young players for the future since it's something Brazil needs to do after this huge failure. Some "forgotten" Brazlian players under 25 that I'd give a chance
Goalkeepers:
Norberto Neto (Fiorentina-ITA) - 24
Rafael Cabral (Napoli-ITA) - 24
Gabriel (AC Milan-ITA) - 21
Defenders:
Marquinhos (PSG-FRA) - 20
Mateus Dória (Botafogo) - 19
Mario Fernandes (CSKA-RUS) - 23
Juan Jesus (Internazionale-ITA) - 23
Manoel (Cruzeiro) - 24
Midfielders:
Lucas Silva (Cruzeiro) - 21
Philippe Coutinho (Liverpool-ENG) - 22
Everton Ribeiro (Cruzeiro) - 24
Lucas Piazon (Chelsea-ENG) - 20
Ricardo Goulart (Cruzeiro) - 23
Jorginho (Napoli-ITA) - 22
Forwards:
Roberto Firmino (Hoffenheim-GER) - 22
Walter (Fluminense) - 24
Alexandre Pato (São Paulo) - 24

Well this is unfortunate, but both brazilians and argentinians took this historical "rivalry" to extremes. In my experience argentinians were the ones taunting brazilians right from the start, way before the 7x1, my cousin arrived singing that damn song every time after the fan fests, some even made jokes about Neymar's spine later. After the humiliation, and after the possibility to have Argentina held the cup in the Maracanã, brazilian's bandwagon jump was completely obvious.
Argentina are one CAM away from being world beaters, someones that allows Messi to play closer to goal where he is deadly, instead of being in the midfield.
Ricky Alvarez is mediocre, and Pastore never really took off.
Messi still has one world cup left in him, but the problem is that this Argentina generation is getting old and I don't see any prospects from Argentina that could light things up, whereas Germany is stacked with young talent.
Otherwise I see I can get fox soccer channel for like $15/month and the MLS package for the whole season for $80 one time charge. They don't give any sort of pricing for "international soccer" on their site.
any ideas?
My only problem with the germans is that they have taken us out of the world cup 3 times in a row. :'( No problems other than that.
I agree with you on several points, of course it was an even match, not saying Germany played bad or anything, they moved the ball better but even when shooting on goal i felt like it was controlled by our defense and Romero. Neuer (amazing goalkeeper) wasn't even tested by our attack (which were in terrible shape).
Also agree on the subs, Sabella made several mistakes. 1st taking Lavezzi out in half-time. 2nd Higuain sub was way to early and Gago, well, he had a fucking awful semester in Boca Jrs and didn't perform like previous years in the National team, so he shouldn't even have played. I would have sent Lavezzi behind Lahm's back and see if he could make damage there. Also would have tried with Ricky Alvarez or Augusto Fernandez as a right midfielder if Enzo Perez was tired.
The ref sucked like most during the whole world cup. I still can not believe that he called a foul on neuer from higuain. Did he headbutt Neuer's knee? Come on.
I'm not sure if it was a penalty or not, it's still to early to see replays. What I know for sure that that was not a foul from our player. I would say Neuer was a little reckless. But that's in the past now.
With good refereeing 2 players should have seen a red card, Höwedes and Agüero, in my opinion.
Unfortunately our local league is getting worse every year, good players go anywhere as long as they get paid in US$ or and secure their economic future even if that means going to a smaller league in Europe and not getting any better as players. And it's very hard to keep them here for more than a year.
By the end they looked sluggish and players like Schweinsteiger were taking a massive beating. A lot of people on the Argentina team were lucky for that.
2 girls no cup.
I've seen the Schumacher impression by Neuer a million times now, and seen a million arguments about it in this thread and also the Football thread. I may be biased as a German fan but I don't think it was a penalty and at worst it was a yellow. Neuer jumped to hit the ball away before Higuain was there, and it was simply a collision. My honest opinion was that it should have been a throw-in. I don't know where the ref came up with the conclusion that Neuer was fouled in that whole mess.
Höwedes probably should have seen red, but I can definitely understand the dark yellow, same goes for Aguero. Though Aguero made far more fouls than Höwedes, that is for sure. Those are two good candidates for reds. Though, I think a lot more players deserved yellows too. I don't mean to sound biased or to attack your team, but the defense was playing extremely aggressively the entire game. By the end they looked sluggish and players like Schweinsteiger were taking a massive beating. A lot of people on the Argentina team were lucky for that.
Pig Climber was hit once or twice. He rolled around the ground for roughly five minutes like he was shot by a sniper rifle. He turned the extra time into a bit of a farce, and lost a ton of respect from lots of the neutrals I know who were watching the game.
Everyone on the German squad played classy except him. The game was extremely physical on both sides, with the Mascherano backhand and the flying knee to Higuain's face. Overall, I'm fine with how the ref called (or didn't call) stuff.
