So, did EVO make you interested in a game you weren't before?

While I had some mild interest in Killer Instinct, I became really hyped for it after EVO. Not enough to buy an X1, but still very interested in it. I really want to play it :(
It made me wish I kept trying to get into BB, I was really excited for BBCP, but by the time it came out on consoles, Xrd's announcement had already sucked every bit of hype I had for the game. I bought the game, but never got around to actually playing it.

Nope

Had alot of fun watching them, but nothing really blew me away enough to take my focus off the games I'm currently learning, and plan to pick up

(Save for maybe Gundamu)

One of the largest teams in the FGC with some of America's best players just lost most of its members. It's a big deal.

I guess

I'm mostly talking about everyone popping in to give their two cents on why Triforce is an idiot though

Why do people go on this dudes (djwheat) show? He seems like a dick.
LiveOnThree?

TBH I've gained a lot of respect for Slasher and DJ Wheat for how the've handled covering FGC events, and for them to even bother in general. They at least attempt to do their homework half the time.

There's at least one more that he didn't use or reveal yet.

Welp, this was the tech I was hinting at. Its pretty simple but not a lot of people would venture into how precise hitboxs are. I can barely land it in real battle but the face on the other person is hilarious when its pulled out on them. If Wong has one more tech he didn't use then it has to be something slimy and disgusting!

When are they going to send Luffy to Japan to FT10 against Daigo and become a 'fraud?' Seems like an Evo tradition for the winner nowadays.

I was already pretty interested in KI after watching some Fulgore matches a few weeks ago and KI at EVO sort of solidified my interest further. Despite enjoying watching BB I have no more desire to play it than before EVO.

Fulgore is the character I'm most interested in playing in KI. Aside from liking the character itself he reminds me a lot of Robo-Ky.

Wong playing the long game, saving that shit for next year

Ha, Luffy feels like his match against Snake Eyez was the real finals.

Well Snake Eyez was the only one that was going to stop Luffy from winning EVO. Among all the players he was the most prepared for Rose. Outside of Snake, Ricky had the best character to fight Rose but Snake Eyez took care of him. I said myself that if Luffy beats Snake, he'll probably win EVO. I also said that if Luffy lost, a Japanese is guaranteed the EVO title because no way did I see Snake Eyez getting past Fuudo and Bonchan.

So with that said, Daigo vs Luffy in a FT10 at the next MCZ Unveiled event. Come on Marky MarkMan, make it happen.

Not really.

I already tried/played most of everything and know what I like and don't like.

BlazBlue, I can't get into.....at all. Already tried my best to learn Taokaka.....and failed.
KofXIII - hard for me to link stuff in this game. I think I did practice or tutorial or something and was like "what? you really want me to perform that?" Or maybe I'm remembering wrong.
Killer Instict - I want a full fledged game and it annoys me that this game is stuck on xbone, which I'll never get.
MvC3 - already loved and played the game a lot before but now dropped due to bad netcode and new exploits that people keep finding.
SFIV - Love it but only play it as a casual player because I suck.
Injustice - Despise the game and did not like it one bit. Movement and attack animations feel really slow and annoyingly clunky. It was at the point where I thought my PC was weak and wasn't running the game well.....but it was running it just fine.
Super Smash Bros. Melee - played this like crazy back in the day but have no interest in getting back into it.....especially with Smash 4 coming out this year.
TTT2 - My most played and loved game that will likely be dropped when Smash 4 hits Wii U.

I think Snake Eyez could have handled Fuudo. It would have been close but everyone is human and Snake Eyez is just a beast. Bonchan would have probably done him in with tiger shots.

yeah the KOF challenge mode almost scared me away too and im sure others have had a similar experience. its important to note that you dont need to know that kind of stuff off the bat...its much better to learn some bnb's online or something and get used to the pace of the game. its definitely more of an actual "challenge mode" than it is a combo tutorial like the same feature is in many other games.

Yeah, Vulva hinted at another thing that he didn't use.

It involves Storm, and it's pretty impressive, yep. He didn't come up with it himself, though. Someone else showed it to him.

Yeah I knew Snake Eyes would've had an insanely hard time against Fuudo and an even harder time against Bonchan. There was just no way I feel.

most of that shit isn't even good.

Like mai's 4th challenge is a 1 frame link and theres no plinking. I have yet to see a mai use that one frame link as its easy to drop.

Are you looking ate my notes?

I love both Daigo and Luffy. If the people want it. Let's make it happen!

I want to try to get back into it since one of my friends is a really big fan and wants me to play it. But with little time, I can't even play what I want to play. :(

Yeah, I was kinda thinking with Bonchan there (unless someone took him out), Snake Eyez had no chance.

That match sucks too hard.

I'm rooting for Luffy to 10-0 Daigo if it happens... but a ft10 is a lot of data.

I have heard for years that virtually nobody plays Rose in Japan. This Evo was the result.

Hm, I think it might involve her wind move that switches the dead body on the screen for mix ups. Purely conjecture at the moment though since I have never touched Beyonzo.

I wanna see this but don't send Luffy out there to got body bagged Mark. You know Daigo download Xian and demolished him like he just picked up the game. He can do the same to Luffy. I don't know how old Luffy is but Daigo probably has twice the experience in fighting games then Luffy does. One may have more raw talent right now (Luffy) but the veteran knows how to break that down.

I have my guesses as to what the new Justin tech is but I am keeping it close to the chest. I feel like if it is what I think it is then seeing it in a high level match for the first time would lead into a ridiculously hype moment.

Am currently having this issue.

It's not so much the difficulty of the links as the timing they want. There's no hitstop and you have to confirm everything so fast. A game like SF4 may have difficult one frame links, but you have time to process what you're doing. KOF XIII feels like it's going to require muscle memory for basic bnb combos.

They ever invited a pad player to Topanga?

He's the Champ. You can't dodge the champ.

BTW, how Dieminion was able to make it so far at Evo with a severely nerfed Guile, I'll never know. Reducing his life was so unfair. Guile has to make 5 good decisions for every one Ken has to make. SMH

That's why Dieminion is the hero the FGC deserves.

Yo Mark I just want to say that I begged for this first. It was right after your post in the EVO thread

I'm rooting for Luffy to 10-0 Daigo if it happens... but a ft10 is a lot of data.

I have heard for years that virtually nobody plays Rose in Japan. This Evo was the result.

Their are some pretty good Rose players in Japan, just nobody on Louffy's level. As for Daigo, he knows how to fight Rose. The only time I've known Louffy to beat Daigo was their first match at WCG back in 2010. Daigo came back to eliminate him though. This past November at Dreamhack, Daigo beat Louffy 3-0 in WF and 5-2 in a FT5 MM.

Daigo seems to be the only Japanese at EVO that knows how to fight Rose while everybody else got bodied. Well besides Tokido, he owned Louffy for a long time but Louffy got the better of him at EVO. With Daigo playing Evil Ryu and Louffy with a better Rose, I think it would make for a great match up. 10-0 isn't happening either way. I think Daigo comes out on top, but probably more like 10-6 or 10-7. But I wouldn't be surprised if Louffy comes out on top. It's a good match up for Rose against Evil Ryu.

Ive never won a tourney but completing all of KOF13's trials is one of the few fighting game related achievements I am proud of.
