Oh man. I'm sorry. There are loads of names I missed out. You, MicH, Robin64, fishfishmonkeyhat... The list is endless.

Omg you forgot meeeeeee!

I had such a wonderful time playing ACNL with ACGAF. Love you guys. I stopped playing after the last holiday event before the 1 year anniversary of getting the game. I believe it was Easter, or was it the Cherry Blossoms? I spent 500+ hours in that game through out the year, so it was pretty hard for me to stop. I ended the game cold turkey. Just decided not to log in, take the game out of my XL, and put it back in its case. I really hope no one left, but if some animals did... I don't care!

Lol <3

It's too bad you didn't make it to the biggest tree Chopper. Would've looked really nice.
Aw man. Don't. I toyed with that idea for a while, but the whole neighbours-moving-out and resetting-for-house-placement thing is just so un-fun, and it would be the only thing keeping me going for the next 5 months. Not quite worth it, sadly.

Did you ever get the weeding badge? If not, maybe it would have been a good idea to turn it off so that you'd have a bunch of weeds to pull if you ever return.
I got silver. About two weeks ago i was invited to someone's TT town, where I spent an hour and a half pulling 2000+ weeds. So yeah...

I got at least bronze for everything.

I shot people I like more for less.

No no, not telling you to go for it. Just being wistful.

So much shit posting on this thread that it makes me sad.

On topic, very nice post OP. I left mine after about 80-100 hours, because the people that I used to play with stopped playing and it started to feel too much like a chore. I remember when people were putting their FCs in the OT here, but at that time I wasn't a member yet.

Sometimes I feel like going back, but if I came back then it would be hard as hell for me to stop.

There's lots of collection aspects, a full year of special events, and the ability to create custom clothing/patterns for furniture. But you need to enjoy those aspects or it wouldn't do anything for you.
Agreed. I think Animal Crossing actually helps satisfy the hoarder inside me. The constant uptick of your catalogue is so satisfying. I have geuninely saved myself hundreds of pounds this year!

I only hoarded the streetpasses and the bells.

I never felt compelled to collect all the furniture, clothes, fish etc.

But that was still enough to occupy hundreds of hours of my life.

In my experience, Animal Crossing isn't really a game but more of a simulator for lonely people.
I wonder what motivates people to type such things.

Next time, imagine that you are talking to a real human and say your words out loud. Then you should realize how rude it is and you can avoid looking like an ass.

I made so many friends by playing this game, so I don't know about that

I hope many of you guys are getting Fantasy Life later this year because that experience wouldn't be the same without ACGAF :D

I'm actually looking forward to Fantasy Life...

What can I say? I love life simulators. XD

Except The Sims. Never liked the Sims for some reason.

Awesome post. FYI, I showed it to the director of the game (she's an old friend), and she said she's gonna visit your town via dream suite. So, one last achievement to add to your list. :) Thanks for sharing!

Wow!

Now that's an 8-4 bump.

Wow, that's quite the honour. Lucky you, Chopper.

I just built my dream suite and your town was mind blowing. I like how you really care. Your town has a soul. Even when I'm done with the game, it will remain a cold bell factory where the only person happy is myself. I have a massive house with nothing in it but a locker at the front door and a Virtual Boy on the top floor in the corner.

I wish I understood the appeal of animal crossing, but I just don't. Game actually stressed me out because the characters had "expectations" that I'd stop in and talk to them everyday

What?
What?!

That's amazing. Thankyou! Any feedback she could provide would be incredible.

I'm curious why people do such things, then. I enjoy most of my villagers, but I wouldn't bore myself trying to keep a particular one around, for being concerned for where they move in. Part of the fun for me is seeing who shows up and where they decide to move.

This doesn't appear to be true at all. In fact, most of the villagers seem annoyed if you talk to them too frequently. I'm actually disappointed that I haven't been invited to anyone's house in a long time.

Have you seen my town? If someone were to just move in where they wanted, it would be devastating to the layout. I had to take control!

Yes, I have, and it is impressive.

Part of the challenge for me is to make a fancy town despite fate occasionally working against me and to roll with the punches.

Great post Chopper!

It's great to hear you had such an amazing time with Animal Crossing!

I'm a big fan of Animal Crossing as well but didn't have as much dedication as you did. Your post makes me want to visit my New Leaf town again, maybe even my GC one.

I can attest to this. I spent quite a lot of time getting my villagers to place their house just where I want them to and it looks awesome. I made a little residential district with all my villagers grouped together

I really, really tried to get into animal crossing: new leaf, I just couldn't do it. The game is so damn slow paced and boring, I just... don't understand the point.

Hell yea if you dig it though!
Well at least you gave it a try!

Get Rune Factory 4 and keep an eye on Fantasy Life, these are action games with exploration and life sim.
