That's correct. Their stuff has a delay. That's why I use my bank account as my barometer for shipping if I want to get the jump on their website lol

I guess I'll have it Monday. If they shipped it Thursday I'd have it Saturday! They're close enough to me that their free shipping is automatic 2-day shipping for me lol

Cool episode, especially visually. The fish and the cubes of water hanging in the air were really neat. I feel like the plot didn't advance too much this time, but we did learn
that Magabaa and Tamako are connected and something big happened four years ago to drive them apart.

I wonder if there's anything significant to Yasako's sister being able to pick out Obsolete Space. And hey, red things.
Also that one guy with the camera is still hanging around so he'll probably be important eventually.

Next time: Daichi goes through puberty?! Not sure what to make of this episode preview.

it is useful to follow stuff like funimation so that you know when they are having an anime sale somewhere. I mostly follow niche publishers, indie companies and anime companies on mine.

So can we have a whole series of awesome anime Twilight Zone?

This was really good. Strong writing that managed to flesh out the characters a decent amount in the short running time, and provide all the twists and neat atmosphere you'd expect from "anime Twilight Zone" as well as a good 'n' ambiguous ending. Really great art, too. Very detailed, and strong use of color (so much purple!) and exaggerated perspectives to make everything feel unsettling, plus good animation. Definitely check out this short if you haven't seen it yet.

That old man was hardcore.

Just read tokyo ESP manga after 2 people here told me the anime was different.
I have to admit the anime while following the same template is trimming a LOT OF STUFF

It's really crazy.
I have no idea how they can fit 27chapters like that in 1 cour , especially considering all the events that they must adapt in order for the firsty ep to make sense.

Are they gonna skip the island ? the prison ? the entire black fist sub-plot ?The school attack ? the yoda-panda ? the whole black organisation sub-plot ?

No way they can do justice to this arc in 12 eps

I wonder if what they are doing to tokyo esp is better or worse then what they are doing to tokyo ghoul lol.
I wasn't impressed with the first episode of tokyo esp (It had plenty going on, but for some reason didn't remotely grasp my attention.) so I dropped it given I had to many shows to watch right now (it seemed like a likely candidate for a future dub) but I have kept up with tokyo ghoul and due to issues I have had with the anime I started to read what they covered in the manga... they have changed some really random things. the last episode also was weird as (how much manga they covered spoiler)
they adapted 5 chapters in a single episode @_@

example of a random thing they changed in the last episode.

Anime:
Girl says her father, mother, and brother that is two years younger died.
manga:
girl says her father, mother, and three younger brothers died in a plane crash.

Lack of weight behind any impact continues to be pervasive in the animation. Right now, this is surviving on the strength of its source material, and Xebec can't even get that right by trimming some fun stuff like Azuma screwing around more with his power.

I swear, if they cut the

I will be super pissed. This was supposed to be much better than Ga Rei Zero :(

In all honesty, most of the time I forget about the music when I'm watching an anime series (unless it's scored by Sawano) but when you have someone like Watanabe at the helm you remember that the music for the show can not simply compliment the visuals but elevate them to new heights. It truly allows the work the transport the viewer into the action.

I never really made the connect before this point between Watanabe and the use of music in his notable stuff but in hindsight with Bebop, Champloo, AND Kids on the Slope occupying his catalog of works I'm not sure how I missed it. All three of those shows definitely stand out to me in the music department and Terror in Resonance is no exception there.

Well that certainly explains a lot ... I'm glad episode 2 decided to dial back the exposition and just got into the thick of things.

Aldnoah Zero - 2

The soundtrack is giving me some pretty strong Attack on Titan vibes, I wonder if the person behind the music is ... yep. Well that's one mystery solved!
So the prediction that the Martians were behind the attack / using it as justification to start a war for the Earth was totally spot on! I'm glad that they didn't try to stretch out that minor mystery because given the kind of matter-ignoring tech they've got strapped to their mobile suits it'd be a little weird if the princess of your entire kingdom wasn't given the same sort of protection on her armored vehicle. Though I'm a bit curious as to why the dude couldn't just walk on into the tunnel to get the truck given his previous rampage on half the city. He mentioned that he was "running out of time" but looked up to the sky at that moment rather than to any sort of internal gauge on the machine ... it'd be pretty silly if there godmode was tied to the sun or something but I'm guessing that maybe it had something to do with the in orbit satellites.

... and I really hope the princess lived. ;-;

I really like this main protagonist, he's ... quirky?

Space Dandy S2 - 1

Man I love to see Space Dandy when the show is hitting the right beats and it definitely feels like they're taking the positive momentum from the second half of season 1 and rolling in the awesome for Season 2. Seriously hoping there's more consistency this time around. MJ Dandy for best Dandy.

He was also the music director in Michiko e Hatchin.

That's why I want a Tokyo Ghoul Brotherhood that clearly follows the manga, but I might as well just keep on dreaming. The anime is only great for the music, visuals, and battles cause otherwise reading the manga is the way to go. Fuckin Studio Pierrot can't get anything right.

it's years to early to want something like that o_O;
tokyo ghoul needs to be about to end before you can even think about it... as it's currently going it's going to just burn through everything that is out manga wise in the 12 ep season and maybe even have to make an anime only ending due to getting to the end of the current manga by ep 10 ><;

Got about 10 episodes behind, but I'm finally caught up. This was a cute episode, Seiji and Hime's little lost in the woods excursion. Featuring lots of flustered Hime! ^_^ All this falling in love business tho, is Blue gonna put a stop to these shenanigans or what? He's not exactly helping things. I mean, it's okay that he wanted to take care of Megumi when she was sick, but did he really like to hover over her bed and smile at her while she was sleeping? You're a thousand-year old god of some sort, use your head, man!

Everyone's favorite non-canon Precure, Cure Echo, returns in her least canonical adventure yet!!! Well, this was okay, as these things go. Dokidoki got most of the spotlight, and Mana looked like she was about to add Megumi to her harem. It sucked that this movie came out before Yuuyuu joined the team, so she only gets like a 3 second cameo at the end backing up Megumi and Hime, and a quick shot of her saving the goober fairies from getting eaten.The final boss was a giant CG tentacle monster, which had some potential, but it ultimately went unrealized.

Fuuuuuck. THIS is SciFi. You had me sold the moment you said meteor bombardment. You don't need super explosives or bombs or high tech suits, all you need is a goddamn giant space rock and it'll do all the work for you. It's unbelievably refreshing to see something like that mentioned in a SciFi anime and while Space Battleship Yamato 2199 had something similar with its Meteor Bombs ... which also spread radiation I've always felt the latter part of that was never all that necessary given the destructive power that just letting gravity do its work will do for you. Shit, with a big enough rock you could start a nuclear winter and that's that for the majority of life on a planet. Gamilons were too busy looking so fabulously blue to notice that they were wasting their time with that radiation component.

And now they're going into the ins and outs of how the Martian force fields work? This is what's sorely lacking in "SciFi" shows these days, reasonable and logical explanations for how certain things in the world operate. And the battle itself was an extension of what they learned through their previous encounter. There was no cliche fit of rage that unlocked some legendary mobile suit that could pierce the armor or give experience to what are clearly inexperienced pilots. No secret prodigy or shounen style powerup at work. Just good ol fashion application of logic and the scientific method.

This show is pretty damn snazzy.

The studio is basically rearranging the arcs which I really don't understand why. This show should of clearly of been 24 episodes so it wouldn't have been rushed. I'm pretty much watching the anime as a standalone and enjoying it as a separate format from its manga counter part. Though I do hope the manga gets a English release.

there really hasn't been any rearranging of arcs as much as random scenes moved and
an entire arc just skipped that it's looking less and less likely they are going to go back to do it... though perhaps their plan is to just animate that 30 chapter arc as the final two episodes.

I am not only treating the anime as it's standalone thing at this point, but I am even going as far as treating it as an alternate universe telling of the story as there are so many changes to how the main character reacts and comes to conclusions that the manga and anime character feel too different to be the same character :/ (they are obviously built on the same person though, thus alternate... or if you will parallel universe versions of them with some changes.)

I mean lets just look at the most recent arc.

Anime:
told to stay away from gourmet, has absolutely no reason to get closer to gourmet, does so anyways. Thinks it's weird when he gets to the building but apparently trusts the guy enough to shower and drink random coffee alone and get drugged by the coffee and wonder why it happened. In this version he comes off as an idiot that deserves to die....

Manga:
told to stay away from gourmet, then proceeds to meet up with some people and be told that he can find out more info about the situation that resulted in him becoming a ghoul if he can find out more info about a gourmet restaurant that gourmet is linked to. He proceeds to befriend gourmet trying to eventually get invited to the restaurant, and finally gets his invite and accepted to go the the restaurant. He is told he needs to shower and look nice for it, so while a little weird accepts it. Then moves to another room to meet some people. He is offered coffee but since it smells weird he doesn't drink it. It is later revealed that not only the coffee was poisoned but that there was a gas as well. in this version he comes off as someone who tried to be careful but wasn't careful enough and is now in over his head.

There are a number of other scenes that were drastically changed as well... it's just weird to me... mostly because I don't mind the character in the manga, but I am close to hating him in the anime ><;

They did a bunch of games in the 90s really. There are also some regular Macross ones some Gundam Shmups and really a whole bunch. YMMV though.
