That was never going to happen.Guess I should stop dreaming about a Porco Rosso sequel .
Nintendo should start an animated movie devision.

What could of been done to salvage the studio? If they wanted to, they could Kickstart their next film and make more money... probably not going to happen, but that could of been a possibility.
Wrong. It was essentially the Miyazaki company and he is gone. Takahata could make 10 more amazing films and they would all bomb.People please read duckrolls explanation of what happened / is happening. They have no talented directors so there is nothing to animate. People are either retired, dead, or no longer with the company.
Man if Hosada wasn't ran off by company culture...

They're clearly both very tragic.Kondo is even more tragic than Kon.
Garden of Words. What movie is that from?

From what i understand he said he is thinking of doing so. Which we already knew. What is this thread about ? Glad the op was fixed.
Nintendo never could make good storylines for their games, so that's pretty terrible idea. Their strenght always was solely in gameplay.
That was never going to happen.
Will Miyazaki still do his mangas?
Shinkai is the Crytek of anime. His films are stunning visually, but leave a lot to be desired in just about every other aspect.

Tsuka (@catsuka) reports that Mr. Momose will continue as is right now working for the studio on side projects, in what was the old Studio Kajino (or スタジオカジノ a subsidiary of Studio Ghibli. It's not like potentially talented directors don't exist in Ghibli. The two guys helping out Takahata, Yoshiyuki Momose and Osamu Tanabe could each probably take on a feature by themselves. They have experience with line direction, they have made their own creations, and Momose in particular is a veteran from the same era as Kondo.
They're clearly both very tragic.
While he only got the change to direct one movie, he worked alongisde Miyazaki and Takahata on such great classics as Future Boy Conan, Anne of Green Gables, Sherlock Hound, Kiki's Delivery Service, Only Yesterday, Princess Mononoke, etc.I didn't mean it in a bad way. It was sad to see both of them go, but Kon had the chance to direct a number of movies and Kondo only directed one. That's all I meant.

He's just a Ghibli museum caretaker who ended up making a movie because his name is Miyazaki. That's not the recipe for a successful career.maybe goro will make a good film one day.

Has anybody seen the documentary The Kingdom of Dreams and Madness? Is it a free documentary on Studio Ghibli? If not, where can I get it from?
That worked out really well for Square.
maybe goro will make a good film one day.

According to Japanese news site ZakZak, Studio Ghibli has apparently been purchased by Japanese online entertainment company Dwango.
This news comes as Studio Ghibli producer Toshio Suzuki recently said the studio needed a "short rest" and said they were considering "making a big change to the larger view of Studio Ghibli."
