Halo: The Master Chief Collection for PC listed on Amazon UK

So Halo 2 Vista does have the auto controller switching stuff. Just tested it.

With the controller plugged in.

When I pressed a button on the controller.

So it is possible that was a leftover from porting the PC version at the e3 demo.

Interesting. Do we know if the H2A campaign is built off of the Vista version? Seems likely.

If somebody (specifically, PC gamers) wants a Bone, they will buy one. If they don't, they won't. This concept of "cannibalization" that comes up in discussion is a hilariously stupid misnomer. There isn't going to be any kind of cannibalization of sales. There are sales that will be made, and sales that won't, regardless of platform.

I want the MCC. Am I going to pay the $500+ cost of entry? No way in hell. Would I buy it on PC? Hell yes. This is the mindset of most PC gamers that want Halo. And the other way around, somebody with a Bone isn't going to see it's going to be on PC, and switch over. There's a reason people choose the system they do, and they aren't going to drop it for a single game. If they do, they're an idiot. If people believe this happens on a large scale, they're idiots. We've never seen evidence to support it cannibalization, and we never will.

You know what really hurts any gaming company? Exclusivity. It's a disgusting practice, and it doesn't do anybody any good. Can you imagine if Microsoft were to drop exclusivity? It'd shake up the industry something fierce. I'd like to see that happen. I'd even buy a Bone just to support M$. But what I really want, is to see 343i?M$ put their money where their mouth is. Tells us exactly why we don't get a PC release, and then show us why they're right. Release the game(s) on PC, then show us the sale numbers, show us where the "cannibalization" is, what it did to system sales. If they can show us that it genuinely does hurt them, I doubt anybody would bother them about it again. But it won't, and they know that.

I'm certain Halo will make it's way to PC. It's just a matter of when.

I remember one of the guys from 343 being on one of the Giant Bomb E3 panels and Jeff asked about this because of a mouse cursor in the demo, and he said it was not something they were looking at doing any time soon.

Microsoft putting out a PC game? After what, Halo 2 and Gears of War 1? Not in a million years...

Quite recently they have published State of Decay, Rise of Nations, Age of Empires II, Age of Mythology, Halo: Spartan Assault, Dead Rising 3, Fable HD, Skulls of the Shogun, Dust among other titles.

All of these are available on Steam with achievements and trading cards.

It was Frankie and Phil Spencer, I believe, but they weren't going to just say, "Awww, you got us. We weren't prepared to announce this just yet but, fuck NDAs, here's a spontaneous world exclusive on your late night podcast!" Maybe if they spiked their drinks.

The original intent to release Halo 3 for PC ( as shown by the Steam registry), the native KB/M support as seen by Jeff Gerstmann and these leaks make me think it's coming someday, definitely not at launch though. When there's smoke there's a fire.

That was Frankie, and his attitude towards this stuff is always 'it doesn't exist until we announce it'. We have no idea what's going on behind the scenes.

Always been pretty confident the MC collection would come to PC for sure, just a while after the XB1 release.

Excluding the old PC stuff, did any of those games sell that well? It's one thing for MS to release slow sellers on PC and another for them to release a guaranteed hit.

I own all of the games on the various Xbox platforms and would STILL buy this day one if it actually ever happens.

Just an error at retail according to Aaron Greenberg from Microsoft. I don't see this coming to PC. It seems like way too important a release for the Xbox One.

not gonna happen, you all basically said it was confirmed years ago because it was on the steam data base, yet they only began the mcc development in 2013

Ah, yes... Aaron "You realize you will see every game in 1080p as your output right?" Greenberg. What a straight shooter he is.
And I agree that releasing this on PC would be a dumb move, but based on history I can see MS doing it.

And it would be entirely reasonable and expected for him to tell the truth. Sometimes the simplest answer is the correct one.

Never trust Frankie.

Anyways, it's just the usual PR speak.

This is basically “We're not ready to announce anything yet”.

Denied by Aaron Greenberg.

Edit: Oops beaten to the punch. Sorry.

You mean the man who wrote on Twitter there were no such thing as a “Tier 2 countries” for the Xbone? Sure, I believe him...

Edit: Here we go about the tier 2 country stuff. https://twitter.com/aarongreenberg/status/367664253110476800

Damn it, this will never happen. Why do Microsoft hate PC gamers so much?

Cuz they can't completely control the ecosystem, whereas on the Xbox, they can.

A PC release of this would make me extremely happy, because it'd mean I can save €400. I don't think Microsoft is that generous.

I can totally see this as a carrot to PC gamers. Release 1-4 to a bunch of gamers who would most certainly spend $60 on 4 games, especially if you only played one of them all the way through (I only played the campaign in 3). I'm not going to buy an XB1 for this game, but if I love all 4 from the MCC and part 5 looks amazing, I'll certainly think about it. Microsoft makes money when we buy PCs too, so I can understand them treating the platform a bit differently than how they treat rival consoles.

You're getting ahead of yourself a bit with Fable. ;) It doesn't have a release date yet (Gamescom, maybe?), but I'd be surprised if it skips 2014.

Did they ever give any indication we may get any of the other games campaigns down the road, Reach and ODST?

Would love an ODST expansion.

Yeah, I considered this, too, but I feel like even in the event that the MCC is a homerun, MS is still in the unenviable position of trying to sell a pretty anemic console to fairly hardcore gamers. On top of this, I'm not sure how instructive our experiences with MCC would be, given that Bungie is out of the picture and 343 is handling the franchise now (343 having made only part 4, the weakest entry in the series to date).

Sounds plausible, actually.

I'd say its an idealist pipe dream of a post. Exclusives *do* influence buying habits and dropping exclusivity in general would kill off tons of studios and give little incentive for console makers to compete.

Dead Rising 3(capcom) and Skulls of the Shogun(17-bit) were self published on pc the rest are MS though and your statement still stands.

Does this mean we're getting a PC port afterall? Because I'd totally buy a PC port.
