Open a prepaid debit card and put a bunch of money on it: money you want to spend. Make sure it's Visa or Amex. Only use that card for purchasing the fun stuff.

That's what I did when I went to Mexico. Put $500 on a new card, put it in my pack with my ID and some loose pesos. I didn't bring my credit card with me (left it in the hotel safe with my passport). Really made me think if I needed what I was buying! I passed on a few things because I knew I only had that $500.

It's kinda the way I limit myself, my Visa is on a 600€ limit and I repay everything at the end of the month. It makes sure that I can never truly run wild with orders. And if I ever get in trouble due to delays and other unexpected issues I have a prepaid card I can charge up as needed.

It's worked well so far.

She popped up late last year on AmiAmi pre-owned for maybe $120 or so. That's when I bought her. I've only seen her a couple times since.

I'm still pleased that they're reimbursing people and I have confidence that they'll be more careful about shipping methods in the future.

I'm sure they will be, it sounds like it's going to be a very expensive mistake. They'll have to dip into their Scrooge McDuck vault to reimburse all these fees.

I know people are hating on it but there is a huge world of action figures outside of the high-end stuff most people here buy... I wish there was more appreciation for other figures here on GAF but it all gets brushed aside.

While I did not buy this, I saw it at Target where they had two pegs of these new Nintendo figures. This link is actually pretty nice and it's only, iirc, 6.99. This is awesome because it means kids can have a link action figure, which is not something that has always been easy to find for that age group. You see tons of mario stuff around but not a lot of zelda stuff.

Jaks also has a 6" Donkey Kong and 6" Bowser that is releasing with this wave (with iirc between 7 and 9 points of articulation). If you are trying to fill out your Smash Bros roster and need some other characters to go with your figma and SHF stuff, they aren't bad stand-ins for only 14.99

It's understandable, though. Many of us don't have kids (at least, not yet), have disposable income and enjoy finer things than toys that are aimed at children.

There is nothing wrong with these toys, but they're not for us. That's like complaining that there isn't a Farmville thread on the gaming side. We're not the target audience and aren't interested in purchasing. I love looking at them, though. If you are interested, please, feel free to post. No one is going to shit on what you like in a serious manner. People that say it's awful or garbage are poking fun. Just like people saying lewd or that some figures are trashy. When I say "we" I mean the majority. I obviously don't speak for everyone.

It's not hating on them. At least it's not for me. Wait until Amiibos launch. This thread may explode (once people realize it exists).

Exactly. Myself, I get a lot of enjoyment out of seeing the funny/cute things people do with posable figures and nendoroids. I get a kick out of the pictures (and gifs) and am glad those exist, but I have no interest in buying them. I like the detail and the craftsmanship that good scales show off so that's what I focus on.

The horror of KanColle is that the character designs are so vast/varied. Given the number of characters, there's a good chance that eventually one will strike your interest. And once you purchase one, that will all be that's needed...

I'm not sure how anyone can so "no" to Max Factory's Wo-Class, though. She's so unique.

I don't actively discriminate and shun other types of figures. In fact, I hate that attitude towards people's desired figures/collections. You don't need to like everyone's figures, but any serious lack of respect is disheartening.

That said, the general audience in this thread does largely go for the higher-end Japanese-inspired *cough* anime girlz *hack* figures. So you may not expect swathes of people quoting you (I certainly don't expect it for the lower build, cheaper items I post).

I'm all for members posting different types of figures from the norm here (except maybe for dollfies...those things give me the creeps!). As someone who posts here I really want everyone to feel welcome to show off their proud pieces and new figures regardless of what they are. Even if I don't respond to a post, know that I love the idea of variety here and that everyone's collections are welcome/included.

Glad I'm not into Boat Girls. Shimakaze was tempting a while back, but totally not worth it. Maybe the anime will change my mind, but I doubt it. I'm not going down the road of ordering figures of source material I barely know (did that for Tharja and Shiro). Shiro payed off as I ended up getting into the anime, but I still haven't played FE:A because I'm not a fan of SRPGs.
