The Last of Us is one of the best games ever made, it deserves every sale it gets on either platform. I'm greatly enjoying playing through the Remaster right now after the PS3 version was my Game of the Generation.

I wanted to dominate the living room. Then I took an ESRAM in the knee.

TLOU is a system seller. Saw someone with the PS4 bundle earlier today, seems like it sells like hot cakes. Say what you want about remasters, but they're here to stay and more to come 100% guaranteed with the success of TLOU Remastered.

I definitely get where that line of thought is coming from, but last-gen games are only getting older, and with the summer drought coming to an end they're going to compete with actual next-gen releases.

More than on remaster success (except for Halo, because everybody knows that's gonna sell like hot cakes) I'd put my money on a publisher getting burned by low sales of a remaster (depending on how much money would go towards remastering a game of course, but I bet SE can put together some $100m for a remaster, they're good with numbers like that).

Let's take MS PR at face value, July got the same momentum (weekly sales) as June.

So weekly sales = 197/5 = 39.4 K/week

July = 4 * 39.4 = 157.2K

Added this in another thread but there has to be money on the table for all 360 users who have crossed over to the PS4. All these remasters are catering to them (partially) and the ROI has to be there. GTAV Remastered will be huge. If there is resolution gate there.......oh boy.

MS's best chance at taking #1 is in November. If they can't win that month with FOUR Halo games for the price of one that also comes with Halo 5 beta, the race may be pretty much over.

I'm incredibly skeptical of this. People treat it like 4 new Halo games. Don't get me wrong, it's a tremendous value and offers an obscene amount of gameplay. But I honestly can't imagine the average consumer going nuts for HD versions of half-decade old games. I feel like the people who would go apeshit for this bought Xbones at launch. I expect a holiday season bump, like everyone gets, but I can't see this game really moving boxes like some people expect.

Then Destiny the next month. September is going to be hilarious. I wonder how high their numbers go.
MS is probably gonna get slaughtered so hard in September but I have a feeling they might win next month. That Madden bundle might do well.

§ PlayStation 4 led the month for next generation software sales by a considerable margin, with The Last of Us Remastered taking the #1 spot.

§ PlayStation 4 games accounted for more than half of total next generation software sales.
I said damn

Anecdotal but on the day of TLoU Remaster release, my store had about 30 copies in stock. Around noon that same day, only 2 copies remained. Well, technically 1 copy remained since I put one aside for myself.

There is no stopping Sony now, I just hope they don't return to that arrogant Sony.

If there is a couple of million people like me that jumped ship to the Playboat then is no surprise TLOU:R is at No. 1.

Fucking game has the best god damn gunplay on a third person shoter right now.

It should win November. MCC, COD, COD bundle, and the sunset over drive bundle from the previous month.

If it still doesn't win that month, then I doubt it will have a chance again until Halo 5.

The race is over. The only question is how far behind will the XB1 be.

July = 4 * 39.2 = 156.8K

It's very possible that they kept the same weekly baseline as June but I think it's closer to 135k or so personally [33.75k a week]

"playing" dumb? unpossible
So they are saying that sales doubled month-to-month again? Can't we calculate the numbers then?

No there stating that sales doubled in June. No mention of July, but if it did, one would wonder why they would mention June instead.

Nice month without surprises.
Microsoft is ecen more vague than usual though.
I still don't get why/how that many people are willing to pay more than 30$ for a one year old remaster though.
I glady payed for it, I fact it was a double dip as I owned the Unmastered edition day 1 as well. It's that good. :)
