Titanfall still fun!!

Yup, I can't recall a game holding my attention as long as titanfall with th exception of maybe unreal tournament back in the day

I stopped playing it after launch, it's the first MP game I dropped so fast. Too few players makes it hard to find people to shoot. AI bots are distracting, I kill those bots and get spotted by a cloaked real enemy all the time. It would've been really fun if those bots didn't existed and they added more players.

yeah I've been enjoying it casually on my xbone, since the DLC and updates landed it got much better.

IMO the best multiplayer shooter this year so far, it was no a "revolution" but quite fun and well worth the money.

PC version has some population issues... but common everything on PC other than DOTA, TF2 and CS has population issues anyway... so.

40 hours is kinda low..I've put like 300 hours in battlefield 4 lol.

Considering I've spent $60 on games and gotten everything in them in 10 hours or less... $60 for 40 hours with Titanfall? Not a bad deal (Batman Arkham City and and Heavenly Sword, I'm looking at you...)

And it's on sale for $25.

Edit: FWIW, have had BF4 since launch, 54 hours. Titan fall since March, 40 hours.

I still play it just about every day and still love it. I think it would have benefited GREATLY from a single player campaign, and maybe even a co-op horde-like mode, but I love the how smooth the game play is.

My lone complaint is them nerfing the Carbine. I just don't get it. It was the one weapon that was perfectly balanced to begin with, IMO.

This reminds me of that "BF4 works fine now!" Thread, even though OP's will never be as obnoxious as that guy from the other thread was.

Having said that, I will definitely give Titanfall a chance once I get an XB1 on October 28th :)

Just played it again last night after being away from it for a month or so. It's still the most fun I've had with a shooter in a long time. Great game.

My Xbox One just stopped working a week or so ago so I'm not able to play right now but I had a very similar experience. I hadn't played TitanFall in a long time and decided to boot it up. They added a lot of features that didn't make it seem like the game was so bare bones anymore and it was really nice. You can tell this game need more experience and time for proper completion.

I also too fell in love with the Marked for Death game mode. It is a lot of fun and is such an adrenaline rush.

Really enjoy it, and need to get back to it. Would love to buy the dlc, but am too afraid the player base is too small.

I just rebought it as its cheap on games with gold. Its changed quite a lot since I sold it a few months ago. I like the new voices and they also function a bit better, telling you when you have back up, when a titan you were fighting dies and when you are genuinely outnumbered (this used to be broken).

I wish they could have reduced the tearing and made the frame rate a little more solid though, it kinda annoys me sometimes. Overall it's more fun than I remembered, i sold it for watchdogs and instantly regretted that decision :|

It would be better for me to go back if the team balance has improved. Has it? Because it was god awful when I stopped. One of the reason I stopped actually since playing alone was a nightmare.

They did quite a bit of work on matchmaking, it'll shuffle teams around between rounds, show players connecting (both in the lobby and in-game if you watch the scoreboard with a non-full team), and I believe if people stick around long enough and there's a full party winning, it'll just boot them out and match them elsewhere.

All contingent on player availability of course, you're still going to run into plenty of gen 5-10s in matches, but that doesn't necessarily means they're all that good, much like CoD prestiges.

Really the biggest strike against the matchmaking is the segregated dlc playlists, not the matchmaking code now. And that's not a unique TF problem, it's just a shitty mp dlc problem.

Is the DLC that's on sale worth it? I haven't touched the game since March, thanks to a deadzone issues I had with the game(But got patch, thanks Respawn)I was going to get it, but instead got the EA Access.

I played a little bit so i can't say for sure. I was wondering about Frontier DLC as well.

Core gameplay is outstanding, but I didn't care for the bots or mechs very much. Did they make the deathmatch games last longer after the beta? They lasted like 5 minutes with like 5 minutes in between games. It was very disconcerting.

I've actually been getting a lot of the DLC in the standard variety playlist - guess it just depends on the people you get matched with. It's nice since the DLC maps are some of my favorites. IMHO all the DLC is worth it if you enjoy the game and want more maps to play on.

Also the population issues on PC are greatly exaggerated unless you are trying to find a game at 3 in the morning on your local datacenter.

I played this tonight and it's the first next gen game I've ever played (just got my XBO this week) and HOLY MOLY.

I really love everything about this aesthetically. Next gen has really thoroughly blown me away with this game.

I give it massive credit playing titanfall and switching it over to Destiny is quite jarring, you're so used to jumping on walls and moving all over the place at such a quick speed that when you switch to a slower paste FPS it can be overwhelming to get back into lol

I'm glad you're enjoying it.

I played it some weeks ago again and was pretty bored :(

After playing it for around 30 hours I just wasn't hooked anymore.

If anyone finds the game not as fun because of teammates head over to the titanfall OT and play with the titanbrehs. We make the game much more enjoyable

I love Titanfall...

I just can't seem to stop playing PvZ garden Warfare. Hollyhock I love this game. been going hard since it came to Games with gold. Wish I had bought it at release.

Game is great with friends still... For some reason though it loses it's pull for me, solo. It being content light doesnt help either. Game needs a horde mode.

It's definitely fun. I've probably logged around 80 hours on the PC version. My problem with it is the same as everyone else in that there's barely any content in the game, and the stuff you do unlock is pretty useless. I firmly believe they will address this in the sequel.

I have a 5.2 K/D and 1.7 average against other players. It's fun but I keep playing with the intent to keep improving my K/D. Surprisingly PTFO actually allows you to manage this given how fast-paced the game is.

It's a great shooter which has gone from strength to strength since launch. Unfortunately it'll never get the credit it truly deserves as it's only on Xbox One.

I felt the skill cap was slow low I cracked my head on the ceiling, gave my self a concussion and forgot the game exisited.

It was just... Boring. You can only do so much with modern shooter like guns.

I had to stop playing after a couple months.

I just got so bored.

But to their credit Respawn have done a great job in expanding the game.

Marked for death is amazing.

Also the new maps have given the game a new sense of freshness which I enjoy.

My one gripe about the game is the amount of glitched achievements I have.

A weapon that outshoots every gun and leaves all of the others is not balanced.

if you want a superweapon or four, go to cod.

Pilot, your Titan is ready, prepare for Titanbombs
The "ingame" content of Titanfall is still a lot of fun and really well done. All the maps are very good and the gameplay is excellent.

Unfortunately these days you need the customisation and unlocks to keep players hooked. Things such as gun camos, character appearance options, player card with emblems and so on.
The Titan Insignias (emblems that go on your Titan) are very hard to notice in the game and it would have been nice to be able to show them off on a player card.
I'm sure all of this will be included in TitanFall 2 though.

If we compare to Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, the content in TitanFall is lacking.

Yeah, it definitely is. A horde mode would be so fucking fun, it probably wouldn't be full of depth, but I could see it fitting in well. Hopefully the sequel does more with the AI; they should look at Halo and allow custom gametypes.

the game is just not fun and is boring. nothing to do with lack of content, lack of maps, modes or guns. It just gets boring so fast, there is no skill or depth to the game play. If it had shooting mechanics like a real arena shooter like quake then the game would require skill.

But it doesn't, it has shooting mechanics like cod except you run around really fast. all gun play revolves being caught out or catching some running.

titans make it better but not by much.

See I disagree. As a new player to the game and a long time UT player, I think the game feels more like UT or Quake than COD.

I recently started it up again to try the Wii U Pro controller mayflash adapter on PC. It's still fun although I can only play three matches tops until I get bored.

The rampant incompetent players on my team make it unfun.

Wish there was some kind of Free For All mode.

If on X1, send me a message and add me as a friend! I'll help you bro! Anyone with mic can add me! Just make sure to also send message so I can add you :)
