The gold thing is fantastic. 1500 a week for 3 seals, assuming they balance the income right (which is the point of the change so one would hope)...this is just absolutely perfect. Elder Gems in Wildstar are already vastly superior to valor/lesser token farming in wow, this takes it a step beyond. Gold is just such a universal currency that it's effectively become "do whatever the fuck you enjoy, as long as you earn gold doing it it will pay for your 'required' shit for the week"

Yeah, I might ahve 10,000 lesser charms NOW, but I remember most of the expansion being forced to do mindless daily bullshit because I needed them week to week. Now I can slack off for a week if I feel like it and probably still be in the black overall which is perfect.

So looking at getting into WoW played it a bit a few years ago. Anyone know of a website where I can buy the game time from for a discount or do I have to pay full price? I am gona be in the EU too.

Now that I think about it, I wonder if that bonus roll price will come waaay down, seems kinda crazy. "Thanks for spending hundreds of gold on this bonus roll, you win: 24 gold".

Finally hit 80
Not done with Icecrown questing, but I'm gonna finish all the quests cause I like this area and there's probably an awesome CG when you fight the lich king

There is. It was pretty cool. Even though I never got him down on heroic, It was really gratifying the first time my guild beat him in 25-man. Very cool experience.

I really hope they give us a re-customization when WoD hits. I'm not liking how my NE male looks like now, but I hear they are WIP, so maybe it'll get better in time.

If they don't it will be pretty slimy. I know they are doing their best to be as similar as possible as far as facial pose etc. but they should realize they are not going to be perfect and people should have the option to change since there is change being done on blizzards end.

You know, I thought getting green fire would definitely push the scales in favor of playing lock instead of Mage in warlords, but tbh it didn't do much for me. Don't get me wrong it was a great feeling, but I didn't get the "yeah I'm playing lock now for sure" feeling I thought I would. Maybe it's because a LOT of people I know are playing locks and it gets boring when everyone is the same, maybe it's because I've been playing a Mage on beta and still enjoying it, but right now, I still have no idea what I'm playing in WoD.

Gear helps. It's just that it wasn't undoable at 483 or whatever. With solid execution there and fewer mistakes, it can be done!

Congrats!!

Thanks! I actually fucked up on the second puppies and had to re-enslave the pit lord, but it was good because I forgot to do it in the doomguard and he would have broke from time anyway. I did renew the teleport every time I used it tho just in case lol

I definitely noticed higher dps tho, and I had like 80k more health which really helps.

It also bugged on me at the end because when the quest was complete the pit lord, doomguards and imps (I didn't kill the last set if imps because I used RoF for infinite shadowburns on the boss at the end) didn't despawn, even when I died and came back, that was annoying. Also, I was expecting a title or at least an achievement but nope

Irrelevent, it flat out gives you more options. The idea is something like "Currently you do 10 dailies to make the lesser charms" and now it'll be "do 10 dailies or whatever else you want that earns you money, and that is 1500 gold".
Keep in mind all valor earning activities are bumped to give more gold in compensation.

Currently leveling a Death Knight, having a blast. It's so much fun just wrecking 5 mobs at once! What a fun class to play.

Tanking dungeons is also really fun, and easier than I expected. Did they nerf leveling dungeons or is it just the BoA gear everyone uses? (I'm using questing gear)

So my Frost DK is now 90 and currently questing and treasure hunting at the Timeless Isle.

I think my ilvl is now 487 or so after some treasure chests and a coin purchase.

Should I keep farming here (and if so what should I be going for) or should I move on to something else?

There are a lot of LFR and dungeons available as well as challenges and scenarios.

This is my first 90 so I'm a little overwhelmed with how much there is to do.

After the initial surge of loot when you first hit the island, just LFR Throne of Thunder and later Siege of Orgrimmar for loot

Question for beta experts: Is the horde leveling after Frostfire (as in, in the zones that both horde and alliance do) different enough from the alliance experience? I finished Frostfire and didn't move on to The next because I don't want to spoil myself for when i play alliance live, but now that I got green fire, I have little to do on live and kinda want to continue the horde lvling on beta

They are trying to make it easier to earn gold without having to go out of your way a lot.

Chilled a bit in Thunder Bluff today.

You know what I realised? That place barely changed compared to ten years ago. It's still pretty much the same. Went to the central area where the AH etc is and stood near the bank. I still remember standing there ~8 years ago with my best buddy from school. We were big addicts back then. One of the best times of my life, had a lot of fun on our shitty computers and laptops which barely got like 40fps. Made a lot of friends who also played the game.

He was only a casual player though. Not awful or anything, but he never really moved up from doing dungeons. I, on the other hand, started joining "big" PvE guilds, did raids etc. But yeah, I'd still do dungeons and other random stuff with him. I kinda miss that time.

Don't really know why this game keeps making me so emotional. Is it because I basically spent half of my life in Azeroth? Is that why the memories are so strong and feel so real? Or maybe it has to do with the fact I was at the peak of my "WoW career" in high school. People often have the best memories from their teenager years.

It's nearly been four years since I used to raid "with the big guys". I really do miss it, but I won't ever do it again... I think. I like to visit Azeroth every now and then, but I doubt I'll ever play it like I used to play it between 2005 and 2010. Nostalgia be damned, but World of Warcraft was really something back then. One of the best gaming experience of all time. Of all time.

It's the BoA gear.

Is it that much of a jump? I really need to pick some up for my next alt.

I feel the same way. WoW is very much comfort gaming for me. It's all so familiar and I have memories from basically every zone...

Bnet is getting hit again, but for WoW you can login directly ingame and not have to wait for the bnet login queues.

That is true, but I got DCd twice, and my friends too. Was worried its happening again.

Something is definitely up with Bnet though.

EDIT : Bnet just crashed again as I was typing this...

I guess that makes sense, though 500 for just a single roll still sounds like an awful lot to me.

But I am thinking about gold in terms of MoP. Sounds like gold will be easier to come by in WoD.

Thank you both very much. That reddit post is awesome.

LOL. So I've killed Garrosh I dunno how many times on my DK and just have 1 1Her, but I get a pug in oQueue for my Lock and get a War Staff on my first kill on him.

Gee Gee.

The nice thing is the staff can be used for all casters, so even if I don't get anymore BoAs, that's a pretty nice one to have.

Caster shit has always been my preferred heirlooms to get first even though I've already raised most casters. It's just damn versatile. Mage, Warlock, Priest, Heals Druid (for the weapons at least)

Yeah, the staff is a great one to get. I have the flex version only, hoping I can get the normal one before WoD.

They're still planning on upping the drop rate for the heirlooms with the pre-expansion patch, right?

Is there any such thing as a class by class, spec by spec, dungeon by dungeon guide for Challenge modes? I wanna get them done soon but I don't know where to start on my Warlock.

I know there are best in slot lists to maximize your output for challenge mode. Also usually there is one spec that is superior to the rest in challenge modes.

On my phone right now I'll post that spreadsheet tomorrow if you want. Contains the optimal gear for every class and spec. It's amazing how different it is compared to the gear you would wear in a raid. Also, if you don't feel like farming all the gear, at least do the trinkets. They make a huge difference in challenge modes.

So here's a question, does anything change on affliction with green fire?

(my 2 specs are demo / destro and I don't want to respec just to check that)
