Ugh, the lack of Ice Climbers hurts so much. They're the first multi-game veteran to be cut. Once a character's been included in at least two Smash Bros. games they should be safe.

Maybe because it's a technical aspect rather than a game design one that it makes sense that Namco Bandai's involvement might influence the development of the game.

I used to think that Namco's history of making competitive fighters might change a few other things, but that dream died a while ago.

Yes

A bunch of the ESRB videos were released confirming the leak. Nintendo has had them taken down.

Advance Wars, Takamaru and Isaac being assist trophies would be fine with me since it's better than being trophy or stickers. Ridley would become stage boss. Third Donkey Kong Country Representative is still unknown (I would prefer to see Cranky or Dixie actually)

Snake is more likely to be cut. I'm very very happy with what I got. Almost all of my wanted characters are in the game at any point. Assist trophy, playable characters, stage hazard, etc.

Eh, what would be the point of that? The videos themselves were proof enough of the leak's veracity. Nintendo probably figured that there was no turning back or shrugging it off, and the best thing to do is try to limit the dissemination of those videos as best they can. There's no sense in denying the leak; it's all about damage control now.

I'm surprised at the amount of people here getting upset about the leak as if they worked with Nintendo. At worst the ESRB will receive a monetary penalisation and will have to confiscate cameras and other video recorders whenever they get people to review content.

We don't know for sure that there are five characters left.

Remember, Pokemon Snap had 63 Pokemon on the N64. Sometimes things just don't make sense.

So sounds like nothing of note has happened since I went on my lunch break. No new info just confirmation that anything that isn't in the pics/vids is most likely fake

Well, it sucks for Sakurai, because he's clearly proud of the work he does and enjoys keeping the hype train running; it sucks for the family of the leaker (presuming he has one,) because he'll probably get fired for this; and it kinda sucks for us, too, because it brings an end to a lot of the hype.

It's exciting to know all this stuff now, but I have a feeling we'll regret it in a few days when the thrill wears off and we realize there's not much left unrevealed.

In my head, I feel Edgeworth and Apollo would be Wright clones, with Pearl being Maya clone.

The feys could use spirit powers and Trudy could use Magician attacks like pulling her hat off and bird flying from it. It would be glorious.

I wish someone would make a Smash clone That plays exacly like Smash, but instead of Nintendo characters it was characters from many companies...

And Snake, too. It might also leave the door open to ICs, because I can't imagine there'd be any objectionable content connected to them.

On one hand, I feel for Sakurai wanting to have surprises.

On the other hand, we have to wait an extra month for the game so it didn't really matter, anyway.

I can't believe so many people are upset about the Ice Climbers. I always thought they were terrible and a waste of a slot, most people don't even remember Ice Climber on the NES.

I've been to lots of Smash parties and everyone collectively poops on the Ice Climbers. I'm just really surprised there are so many super fans out there, people claiming they have no reason to play the game if there are no Ice Climbers.

We got Little Mac, Mega Man, and Duck Hunt Dog, but you won't play the game if there is no Ice Climbers?! It really makes me feel like some asshole just farted in my pants.
