I still the mass Miiverse disappointment regarding cutscenes is really funny.
Miiverse just makes you wonder sometimes.

Are the trailers going to be included on the 3DS cart at all? They're linked directly on the SSB eshop page, so it seems like a waste of space to include them in the game itself.
As long as Nintendo never takes them down then I'd be ok if they're not on cart.
I'm still mad the Uprising shorts aren't on that video app anymore

Around two weeks to go. Do you guys think we'll see a dedicated Smash Direct in time for the Japanese launch? Something that will allow Sakurai to recap everything we know up to that point, going into greater detail on the content that's been shown since E3 and the April Direct?

I still believe we still have more characters. All Stars is locked in the ESRB build and it is known that the ESRB build isn't the final build.

yeah, definitely.

Has there been any more adverts found? I saw the Fire Emblem/Shulk one, the Rockman vs Luigi one, and the Pokemon one.

Just so you know what I'm going on about:
Here's one:

wait, did i miss something?
Someone posted a list someone made that was a supposed leak about how Snake was cut because Nintendo couldn't get the rights, how Ice Climbers might possibly maybe be hinted as a DLC, how Chrom and Dixie were considered for characters and cut, etc. Basic semi-plausible stuff, no way to know if it's true until the embargo expires of course.

I was mainly interested if anyone else has a better theory about WHY Nintendo had the NDA'd press event, or if any of my explanations made sense.

If I remember right, he said at the end of E3 video "I don't think we'll talk more about the game before its release"

That list was faker than the surgery to make Michael Jackson into a Caucasian.

Agreed, although it kind of irks me Lucina is missing from the Fire Emblem one, lol. Still, can't complain too much because Shulk looks SO COOL.
Yeah, you'd think they'd actually mix up the fighters to be from different franchises to show off the crossover appeal of Smash, but whatever.

Yeah, either go all-out with the franchise mash-ups or go pure franchise. Mixing Shulk with three FE characters seems a bit lopsided, lol.

I thought that was fake

I just looked up at the part of the Digital Event: "There are many more game elements we haven't introduced yet, but I don't think we can talk about all of them before we release."

I don't think that precludes the possibility of another Direct, one in time for launch that'd recap everything so far, all explained in one convenient package. After all, not everyone has been following every Miiverse update.

They could use it as one last push for the 3DS version... and hopefully reveal another character while they're at it. :)

Yeah, if it weren't for online communities, I wouldn't know people had an issue with Brawl, either. Sure, it's a notch slower, but the game was designed around that speed and still worked fine, IMO. And I personally never noticed the phenomenon of tripping. I mean, I can remember it happening, but it always seemed like a split-second occurrence.

My only criticisms of Brawl are the muted color scheme (something more evident in hindsight), the fact it wasn't HD, the fact there wasn't a good GCN controller replacement on Wii if your actual GCN controllers were rough around the edges, and the rather tedious and joyless Subspace Emissary.

But the core gameplay was excellent, there was a ton of content and the roster of characters was a huge improvement, so all in all it was a net gain. Too bad a good portion of the online Smash community thinks otherwise. Hopefully people will find more common ground in SSB4.

Yeah. I'm not saying it is flawless (although playing through SSE w/ a friend was fun as hell for me ) but some act like it is the worst thing ever. I played Brawl a few days ago and had a blast (FalconDorf is fun in a strange sadistic way, Never played him like that before), it's not a bad game. Does it beat out Melee? Probably not but it is still a damn godo game to me.

But the internet can make it seem like it's Sonic 06 at times, and that bugs me a little.

It's only a small minority who seemingly actively hate Sakurai/Brawl. Most Smash fans, including people who play competitive scene are really cool and fun to talk to. They aren't bitter or hateful. They love Smash and want other people to enjoy Smash along with them.

Of course, the loudest and most annoying groups of any community are generally the smallest. I love this community here because we generally get hyped for everything and seem to be approaching this game with an open mind.

Yeah, let's hope.

By the way, still no info about that?

I want to see what they could come up with Marth and Link being a team.

"Man, I heard there's a new sword user in town."
"No way dude"
"Let's fucking kill him"
I love that all three of them are wielding highly-important swords to their respective franchises. I mean, I'd argue the Monado plays an even more important role to Xenoblade than the Master Sword does Zelda, but the Master Sword's still plenty important. (Can't comment quite as much on the Falchion, since I never played any of Marth's games, just Awakening; seems plenty important there, though.)

Funny, I just reached this scene within the past few hours.
Shulk as guest character for the next FE game confirmed.
I'd be okay with this.

AHHHH I AM SO HYPED TO PLAY SMASH BROS AS FUCKING SHULK
I KNOW RIGHT IT'S UNREAL

Aaaaaaand that thread perfectly encapsulates why I hate competitive Smash and the horrible community devoted to it.

I know not EVERY SINGLE PERSON in the community is an asshole like the ones in that thread and there are always exceptions, but I'll be damned if the "pro" Smash community doesn't do a damn good job of making it appear that 90% of them are total dicks. Hell, 95%.

I'm sure it's just a case of a vocal few ruining it for the rest of an otherwise sensible, friendly enough community, but ruin it they have.

What's so unreasonable or dickinsh about assuming a respected game developer has a mental disorder for not pandering to your tiny in-group?

Just disregard that thread. Trust me, most passionate Smash fans are great to talk to. I don't play Smash tournaments but I play Smash a lot and have a few friends who do play regional and national tournaments. The great thing about Smash fans is that when you talk to them about Smash they have a smile on their face the whole time. Unlike that thread, it's actually fun to discuss the mechanics of the game and the characters.

You should really meet people like D1, Mang0, Scar, or anyone like them in-person. They're more representative of the average competitive Smasher. In fact, D1 and them are at PAX -- you should find them.

You should've also gone to the panel they had last night about the community. :p

But yeah you should really disregard that thread -- there's some people in there that are being logical but one or two are being rather unreasonable and... I never really see those around anywhere (notably Deckard Cain, who is probably the worst ever I've seen lol).
