Does anyone else think that the Smash Bros 3DS has cooler stages?

As it stands, yes, I think the 3DS has the better stage selection. Paper Mario, Prism Tower, Spirit Train, Gerudo Valley, Mario Kart, Jungle Japes - there are a lot of stages I'm looking forward to. But we don't have as much info on the Wii U stage selection yet, and if it has more/better new stages (the one strike against the 3DS stage selection is the high proportion of retros,) then I'd favor the Wii U's selection.

Does anyone find it kinda funny that Ridley, a character designed and created in Japan is seen by them as an 'overseas character', yet K. Rool, who was deisgned and created in the glorious United Kingdom is apparently really heavily requested in Japan?

The DKC cartoon was extremely popular in Japan, and the original trilogy also sold very well. I'm pretty sure that DKCR outsold Fire Emblem: Awakening in Japan alone.This is why I laugh whenever people say "JAPAN HATES DONKEY KONG." The only people who hate Donkey Kong are weeaboos who dislike Dixie because she doesn't have boobs/anime eyes and people with bad taste. And Sakurai, of course.

It definitely wasn't DKC numbers, but not Metroid Prime numbers. Regardless, it makes sense as to why they're not crazy about Ridley.

The original Metroid was actually a high seller in Japan. Super Metroid wasn't.

I've only played the first half of Earthbound and Mother 3 but Ness has always been my Smash main, he's just so good... in a "one of the worst characters in the game" sort of way. But that's more Sakurai's fault for not giving him good tools, Project M Ness is great.


Lucas was awful in Brawl imo, Project M made him a bit better but I still can't stand the little shit.

Ness has always been a fun character to play as for me, as he's not considered one of the better characters yet has moves that are fun to land like his back air and down air. Although it'd be nice if more of his moves referenced his game.

Bio
Ray 01 is generally the starting robot given to the player in the Custom Robo series. There are eight different Ray models in the series: Ray, Ray MK II, Ray MK III, Ray Sky, Ray 01, Ray Warrior, Ray II Dark, and X-Ray. All are Shining Fighter models exept Ray Sky. Ray II Dark and Ray Warrior are illegal parts, illegal parts are parts that are powerful enough to actually hurt someone based on the games. In the GameCube Custom Robo game, Ray 01 is a top secret robot that is found by a bunch of thieves. The playable character of the game is then asked to stop the thugs from infiltrating the base, and does so with the help of the robot.
