Claire's design has always been pretty consistent up until now.

CV:

Darkside Chronicles:

Degeneration:

To people saying her design is fine, would you honestly be able to recognize her if you didn't know it's her?

Code Veronica Claire doesn't look consistent with Degeneration Claire.

I'm all for women in games not having to look like supermodels all the time. RE:R 2's Claire looks like a more down to earth design. Closer to Code Veronica than Degeneration is.

I wonder why the game is called "Revelations 2" instead of Resident Evil 7.

Maybe because Revelations was much better than Resident Evil 6?

They're establishing Revelations as their flexible, chronology-interrupting timeline-filler, lower-budget stop-gap RE fix, and 'return to classic gameplay' series, which basically means that you can explore a bit and nobody shoots at you. That's really all that differentiates Revelations from 4/5/6. A separate (and much larger) team is no doubt working on RE7 as we speak.

Also, I'd say there was little if anything Revelations did better than RE6 except for its isolated setting. And it certainly sold less than 6 did, so I doubt it's a marketing tactic.

How old was she in degeneration?

26.

Who is Barry's waifu?

Kathy Burton, seen here standing with Moira.

No, but that's not a character design problem. That's just an anime problem. Clothes and hair are really all you have to go on.

Nonetheless, we know it's Claire. And she looks good. So it's okay.

It feels like a natural evolution considering the upgrade in tech, it retains her main features. This looks like an entirely different character.

I don't know, there's just so many redheads in Resident Evil.

I mean, there's Claire... and this guy:

Very funny.
If you didn't know what game it is would you look at that pic and say: "that's Claire from RE"?

Really? We're talking about realistic 3D models here. How can you even make the comparison to anime characters, wtf?

They're not going to remove co-op from the series.

Resident Evil 5 is Capcom's best selling game ever and basically all their top selling products have multiplayer.

Please Capcom, don't crapcom on this. Alyson Court IS Claire, there can't be another person doing her voice.
Really? People are that attached to a Resident Evil VA? That's kinda funny to me, since the VA in Resident Evil has always been mediocre at worst, terrible at best (yes you read that right xD).

There's aging and then there's changing your face. I'm pretty sure your face isn't supposed to change.
Characters change far more than their faces all the time in video games. I can't imagine why this would be such a huge deal, especially considering she's aged quite a bit from when we last saw her. If anything I prefer this new design, she looks more human and less perfect supermodel porcelain doll.

Claire looks old, like she's 30.
Joke post, right?
...Right? :(
I'm not old, damn you.

Let's not kid ourselves. If people aren't able to put together that that's Claire, they probably don't give a shit about it. It looks like her and her name is Claire. No one is going to be confused.

I do find it rather nice that they kept Moira's design consistent with her one real appearance in Barry's BIO3 epilogue.

They could at least Dead Space 3 it and make the second character a non-factor in single player mode.

Though, this game seems to rely on the interaction between the two characters heavily, so perhaps it will work better here if Moira plays more of an Ashley from RE4 role.

It's not a matter of being confused, it's a matter of changing characters for no reason. If it's her why change her face like that? It's stupid.

Really?

I really think that Claire's face in Revelation's 2 looks closer to this:

than this does:

Sorry, can't agree with that at all. Whatever, I'll be playing on PC so there should be mods just like there were for Jill in the first game.

I hope we have just a consistent Main Character (or pair) in this. Not a fan of the constant switching or multiple campaigns of the latest Resident Evils

How many people that bought RE5 actually played with another person? During my play through I never even considered it. Resident Evil has always been a solo experience for me. Horror and Survival Horror games have always been that way for me.

If it's drop in/drop out co-op and doesn't effect my solo play, then hey whatever.

I think it'd be neat if the two characters aren't constantly together and often split up, so if you play it one player you have abit more suspense/variety, and if you play it two player you have diverging experiences and certainly a more survival type experience as the flashlight kid.

first time I saw this while playing RER I posted a screenshot to miiverse to make fun of it. I mean, I like fun outfits to a degree... This is just silly.

I'm pretty sure the large majority of people played the game almost exclusively co-op.

I recognize this woman as Claire Redfield a lot more than I recognize RE5's Jill Valentine as Jill Valentine, to be quite honest. :p

She reminds me a bit of Gillian Anderson. I think it's the mouth and nose.

Uh, me? I actually liked RE5 and don't get why it gets so much hatred, and I'm really guessing that the hate gets from those who played it solo. It was a pretty fun coop game.

Im pretty sure a large amount of the 6 Million + players played coop at some point.
RE4 brought a whole new group of players and fans. So a lot of the audience doesn't even have ties to earlier stuff.

According to her twitter she hasn't been contacted at all regarding reprising the role.

If that's true, I truly wonder what the point is? Why does Capcom always feel the need to replace established voice actors since day one? They even got rid of Paul Mercer who voiced Leon in RE4 and Degeneration. Alyson has been the only long running VA since RE2 that has retained her role and continuity and now she may be getting replaced. Why?

At this point I'd rather she wasn't even in the game then.

Um wtf, she IS Claire. She's been the one consistent voice actor and it has made it so much more special. God I hate Capcom.

Maybe seeing the game running or pics from different angles will change my mind.

I'll say it again though, this has potential to be good.
Sure you can argue that you'd rather not have co-op since we're already stuck with it in the mainline games but other than that everything sounds very promissing to me.

Barry's daughter? That quite interesting, and I wonder if Barry is alive at this point. Nice to see Claire again. Also interesting how Moira is more so just a support character, through I not sure if I like this regarding co-op.

Curious why Coop is in at all though if Moira is nothing but support.
That can't be very fun for your friend. Hey man you can give me Herbs and you can shine a flash light for me!

Yeah, at least keeping the same voice would've helped, new voice combined with how much they seem to have changed her features is a bummer considering how much I wanted the character to return, there's barely anything left of her lol.

For some reason I think whenever another player joins they'll throw the Ellie whole support dynamic thing out the window.
